Please help me. especially if you have been admitted or go to a nyu or California state? -

Ok so i have applied to a few universities and cal states and my sat score for writing and critical reading are around 550 but math 350. The places that i have applied show that my writing and critical reading scores are good but my math barely meets the requirements. What should i do? if cal states give their decisions later on, then should i retake the SATS? Will it really affect my admissions? I applied to San Jose, cal state la, San Diego, and San bernardino. Please give me advice. I would love to ask my counselor but she believes that i don t have a chance at college so yeah. Thank you.

If you are referring to THE NYU (in New York City) then you don t have a chance at getting in. Also, to the other person that commented, there is no such thing as in state and out of state tuition at NYU. It s a private school. Anyway, if you have the time to study and do better on the SATs then by all means take them again. You can also apply again next semester. If you don t get in, go to a community college and then transfer to a Cal State. You can apply to transfer out of community college whenever you want so don t feel stuck there. Good luck!

I don t answer questions from people that block their Q A s, (often that information helps give a better answer), but consider that if you go to NYU, you will pay non resident tuition rates. No disrespect intended. Please review the rules of grammar about capitalizing proper nouns. It s something you will be graded on in college.

Student life of UC Denver? -

So I have been accepted at University of Colorado at Denver. I visited it once, four years ago when my Brother was looking. I liked the campus then, and looking back, I remember it being a metropolitan campus, in the heart of the city. I also love the idea of it being near the mountains. However, I have some questions:1) I am gay, and I am wondering what the gay community is on campus (I m not looking for like clubs, but more of just will I be able to meet gay people.)2) What is the student life like? I understand that it is a commuter campus, but there is student campus.3) How does a degree from UC Denver hold up?4) I m looking at majoring in Film. Are there any film opportunities in Denver?Thank you so much!

I hope that you are aware that the University of Denver is a private school, with roots in Methodist Church. They may not be as open to LGBT, as other schools. Personally, I do not know, but I know of their religious roots. Their Office of Student Affiars may be able to assist you once there.http://www.du.edu/studentlife/Academically, they are ranked very high.

Boulder is the more creditable school than Denver. But honestly, no one cares. Craigslist is perhaps the best place to looks for film gigs and what not. There are quite a few productions that come threw Denver. They re always looking for talent, post production people and other stuff. Again, just check Craigslist from time to time. There are gay people on campus. I think they might even have a club. I went there a few years ago and one of the members of the student government was gay. So I m sure somethings come of it.

I think you can disregard one answer as it pertains to the University of Denver, not UC denver. And as far as accreditation goes Denver is now ranked the same as Boulder in terms of the degree. I am not an art major, but the school of arts and media is very large, with a good program. There really aren t many film opportunities in Denver unfortunately. Student life is difficult if you do commute as most events are either during normal class times or late at night. But being downtown is an awesome atmosphere for going to coffee or lunch with friends or just grabbing a gelato between classes. I m not really familiar with the gay community on campus, but I do know it is fairly large, and Queer prom, which is not affiliated with the school, is held on campus every year.

Does my green card wife need a passport to fly within the US? -

My wife is a Permanent Resident. We are flying across the county in a few days and we just realized that her Peruvian Passport will expire while we are there. (We didn t renew because she s about to become a US citizen.)Is this a problem? She can fly domestically with her Permanent Resident card, right?

A passport for domestic flights is only required if a foreigner does not have any U.S. federal/state issued photo ID. The U.S. Green Card or a U.S. state issued Driver s License will be fine for domestic flights.http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/airtravel/a ..

NO ONE needs a passport to fly domestically. Just her green card is fine. It will serve as here photo I.D.

No, just her home country passport and valid U.S. Id card or state issued drivers license.

Will I have time to eat at the varsity on my layover? -

I m having a three and a half hour layover in Atlanta, will that be enough time to go to the nearest varsity and eat?

If you like living on the edge (so to speak) there s a good chance you could do it. Me, personally, I d stay in the terminal. Why go through the check-in process -- which could be long and tedious -- if you don t really have to...... It would be a shame to miss your flight!I should add that I m not a big fan of the Varsity. Now Nathan s in Coney Island -- that s a different story!( :

Probably not. ATL is a big airport. It will take you a lot of time to get to the MARTA terminal, take the 20 minute train ride to North Ave. walk 2 blocks to the Varsity, order, eat and then get back on the train to get back to the airport and get to your gate so you don t miss your flight. If you don t have to deal with luggage you may be able to make it but I would hate to be late and have to use a chili dog as my excuse for missing my flight.

It would depend to on what time of the day, and the day you are landing at the airport. If you land during rush time forget it. On the weekends or during the day, I would think you would have time. If you have to deal with luggage rent a locker to put luggage into until you get back. About 12 or 13 miles and 20 minutes in a cab. You could check with the bus line at the airport. 3 1/2 hours is a fairly long time when you are looking at less than a hour riding in a cab, not during rush hour!!!

Are Americans surprised not to see national flags when they go abroad? -

Are you surprised not to see the national flags of the country you re visiting on buildings or houses?

I must agree with Fester and Shore. When I was in Switzerland, like Fester, I saw Swiss flags EVERYWHERE. When I was in Ireland, their flag was being flown in front of more houses that I see US flags fling in fron of houses here. In fact, when I visit other countries, like Shore, I am surprised at how few I see in the US compared to other countries. It seems that any kind of pride in the US is looked at (as noted above) as some kind of racism, especially in cities. I find that quite sad and a serious indication of the loss of a natioanl identity that will cause large problems in the US going forward.

I just got back from Europe (Germany, Austria, Czeck Republic, Hungary, and Netherlands - whew! ) and yes I saw lots and lots of flags, so I m not sure what you re talking about. And how is flying the American flag racist? You ve got too much Obama in your head child. Just remember, living in America give you the privilage of critizing America, got to some other places in the world and try it...write to me from prison and tell me how it went.

I don t know where the idea that every American has a flag started. Because it s complete bunk. When I leave this country, I m surprised that I see so many national flags. Because there are a lot more outside the US then there is here.

no. but i do know that in some countries, national flags are mainly used by racists as they are in america. nationalism and patriotism are bad things. it took me time to realise that.

We see them in Italy and Holland, mostly on national holidays, but some folks fly them more often.I don t fear the people who fly them, though. In America, I do.

I was in Switzerland last year, the Swiss flag was flying everywhere.

In Canada they have more flags then we do.In other places, no.

How can i get to 820 July St, Natchitoches, Louisiana from Bronx NY? -

hey dose anyone know how to get their by having no passport or anything like that i saw by car is 22 hr but it to long and a taxi driver wont drive me that long but if someone know how i can split the time like take 2 3 4 taxis to get there or something can u help

You don t need a passport to travel within the United States, even to Louisiana. The most expedient and cost-effective method is to fly from any of New York s airports to either Alexandria, Baton Rouge or New Orleans, Louisiana. From whichever airport you choose to arrive in, take a Greyhound bus to Natchitoches (it s pronounced Nack-it-ish, by the way). From the bus stop in Natchitoches, take a taxi to 820 July St. An alternative is to take an Amtrak train from New York to Louisiana. I m not sure of what cities are served in Louisiana besides New Orleans. You ll have to check Amtrak s Web site, www.amtrak.com. But flying and rail are certainly going to be less expensive and less time-consuming than taking a taxi.

You could ride the bus. Take Greyhound from New York to Shreveport, LA. Then get a taxi or find a ride from Shreveport to Natchitoches. You can book Greyhound at http://www.greyhound.com/ - it would cost probably about $150 for the bus trip plus whatever the final taxi would cost.

You shouldn t need a passport to travel in-country. I d have to say go to the nearest bus station and take something like a Greyhound, then taxi closer from the bus station there.Or you could fly, I suppose, unless that s cost-prohibitive.

walk to enjoy the wonder of the countrysideor road trip. i suggest car is awesome idea. get a really good friend to come with and it ll be the best experience of your life

Is there a summer camp near Eugene or Portland Oregon that teens can work at during the summer? -

Canyonview camp in Silverton has a big program for teens called Teens In Ministry. Hundreds of teens work there every year, and not just in the summer. They also have regular weekend camps. Kids can be involved in the horsemanship end or the daycamp end (for younger children).More info at canyonviewcamp.org.

Surprisingly, none show up in the Eugene area, nor near Salem. However, at least a dozen are around Portland. For the traditional general children s outdoor camp, check out Camp Collins east of town, run by the YMCA.Other possibilities are the skiing and snowboard camps which are at their peak in the summer. http://www.highcascade.com/ http://www.mthood.com/

See if the Civilian Conservation Corps has worksites around there. http://www.opb.org/programs/oregonexperi

I heard the Oregon Zoo is offering something for the teens but not sure if it is volunteer or payed work. You should contact them, that would just be a way to cool job.

Ppl from chicago or detroit michigan? -

is it snowing there right now? or is there snow..pls. tell me.. im going there the next 2 days so yeah

The snow is coming from Chicago into Detroit, so Chicago will have the first batch of snow. Its raining in Chicago as of November 25th 2009 and it will rain/snow on November 26th and November 27th in Detroit, Michigan.

We don t even have any snow in the northern part of the state yet, except maybe in the extreme west Upper Peninsula. And it s been quite dry for November so far as well. It s not looking good for the ski resorts right now.

No snow in Detroit yet. The weatherman just said 35 and snow showers for Friday. So maybe if your lucky you will get to see snow. Even if it does snow it probably won t stick because the ground is still warm.

No, we have had no signs of snow yet and an unseasonably mild month of November. Even if there are flurries later in the week, it will be nothing that will stay on the ground and accumulate.

No snow in Michigan yet. It s been real foggy in the morning the last couple of days, however,

donno about michigan,,, but no snow in chicago yet.......

Were to hang out for teens around Denver/Thornton? -

Hi, I m am 15 And skate city is getting alittle old. It has a bunch of younger people, so I was wondering if anybody knew of any cool places kinda like skate city (Friday night skate city)? It doesn t have to be skateing, just a hang out were you can meet people and hang out with friends. Also, I want it to be around Thornton or Denver or westminister. In that general area.

Jump street is kind of lame, don t go there. It s expensive but what you should do is just walk up and down the 16th street mall. There s a lot of places to go and wierd people to see.

Boondocks and jump street come to mind immediately...or a bowling alley

Stay in your house!!!!!!!!!
