Music scene in California? -

I am planning to move to LA to pursue a career in acting. However, my friend and I play music together. It is just him on acoustic and myself on acoustic or electric and singing. I was wondering if there is a good music scene near LA, so that I can continue with my music as well as acting thanks

Why does EVERY wanna be actor/actress think they have to move to Hollywood to pursue an acting career ? It doesn t work that way. Never did, never will. Please stay in New York City and pursue your career there. You re living in the center of live theater. Opportunity is all around you in New York.We already LITERALLY have a million wanna be s living here. Producers will not waste their production budgets on no name wanna be s. They only use proven commodities with a track record. . To make it here you must first become famous in your craft somewhere else. Gain experience, and make connections in New York before you try coming to Hollywood. The same goes for the music side of the business. But if you choose to disregard this advise practice these lines of dialogue Do you want fries with that?

yes but the biz is dead. Unless you have really good contacts and are Jewish, don t try Hollywood or music for that matter. Get a real job.

I am looking for a nice, classy club that is for people older than then 21 to 25 crowd. I am looking for something with a good dance floor and music. I do not really care how good the drink selection is as long as there is good music and people dancing. Any thing in the NYC area would be great.Thanks

As in much of Florida, I would suppose things are not hot in Daytona right now. But that would depend upon your background and experience. If your career is in the medical field, prospects could be good these days. Keep an eye on jobs in the online Daytona newspaper, and of course, the usual job search websites. Traveling from Ohare Airport tomorrow? -

I m leaving for LAX. My flight leaves at 11:15am should I expect heavy crowds then (i know, i know... its O hare) how early should I plan to get there? I m going to be gone for awhile so my girlfriend was planning on seeing me off. how long should/can I wait before going through the security checkpoint? Planning on checking in as soon as I get there (only traveling with a carry-on) but was hoping to be able to grab breakfast somewhere in the airport with my lady before I leave.

I always use the 2 hours before rule at O Hare, although I define the 2 hours as being in the parking area about 2 hours before scheduled take off time. That allows time to get to the terminal, check in, clear security, etc. Security should be pretty much normal, as not near any type of holiday, so that shouldn t be an issue. You can view the length of the security lines pretty much as soon as you arrive in the terminal. However, the only restaurants that I ever recall at O Hare are located past security, so having breakfast with your lady at the airport itself, probably isn t going to work unless she is also ticketed.

I would plan on arriving at O Hare an hour before your flight since you don t have any luggage to check. Although I would allow 2 hours travel time to get to O Hare, whether by car or public transportation. This is the rule I always use. So I would leave for O Hare at 8:15 AM. I allow such a big transportation gap because I cannot tell you how many times I have missed a flight because of unexpected traffic on 90/94 or the Blue line being down for servicing or technical problems. This way worst case scenario you get there with an hour to spare and best case you have plenty of time.Unfortunately you won t be able to eat breakfast at O Hare with your gf unless she has a ticket and is traveling the same day.Enjoy LA!

You shouldn t have a problem going thru security if you dont bring any liquids with you or weapons. And I never see large crowds at Ohare that early in the morning(i work in ohare). And all the resurants are past security check point so if your girl friend isnt traveling she cant pass securtiy to have breakfast with you. I say get to the airport at 10.30 and you should be good.

Driving to new york city from binghamton,ny(upstate)where can i park and ride into the city? -

Me and my friends are going to the city for the macys thanksgiving day parade.We live in upstate new york in binghamton.Normally its about a 3 to 3 1/2 hour drive.But id like to park my car somewhere safe outside of the city(somewhere along the way)and get a train into the city?I need to know this by tomorrow so please answer!Best and quickest answer gets the 10 points.Just please advise along the route of ny-17 or 81 i can park and get a train,also please let me know about how long it takes on the train and how much each round trip ticket costs.

Many years ago, there was a commuter service that offered parking in a lot just off the New Jersey Turnpike west of the Lincoln Tunnel, and transportation into the city by bus for a fixed daily fee. Don t know if that option is still available.If I were doing it today, I would probably park at one of the commuter rail stations north of the City - Poughkeepsie is northernmost option, but there are several options in Westchester County that are closer to the city. Pick a station that is served by MetroNorth rail service (into Grand Central) rather than Amtrak (Penn Station).

Don t even think about driving into the City, because there will be a lot of street closures. There is also a holiday gridlock alert in effect until December 23. St Augustine is a blast and just over 3 hours (Rt 10 East) depending on how fast you drive and traffic. Go see the stone lions and lighthouse.

Orlando universal and ioa tomorrow? -

You probbly will hit alot of crowds because the kids there have off for the week. The RIP RIDE AND ROCKIT normally has a really long line so i hope you can wait it out. I recommend EVANESSENCE for the song.

disney world is not where the wizarding world of harry potter will be located. it will be located at universal orlando. disney world and universal are 2 completely different companies that compete against each other. the wizarding world of harry potter is not a theme park in an dof itself. its simply just a section of the universal islands of adventure theme park. there is not an additional charge for the harry potter section. you just need to buy a one day one park pass to universal islands of adventure to gain access to the harry potter section as well. the price of a one day one park ticket is $73 if you buy online and $79 if you buy at the gate.

Your looking at the wrong site. Harry Potter will be opening at Universal Orlando inside Islands of Adventure, not Disneyworld

Well I would say none as there is not a British territory here, this new country is Andaa. It is puzzling this desire to maintain motherhood bonds with the Queen. The States have such balls, galls! However perhaps you are thinking of the Great lakes and yes they r still there.

To the North would be the Baring Sea, a bit of Russia and the Arctic Ocean. That would be going from the extremities of Alaska upwards. So the Aleutian Islands e.g. Buldir Island. Also Islands like St Lawrence and St Matthew. After you pass the North Pole though you d be heading South. You wouldn t be able to go as the crow flies though at least by boat.To the East South East you d be seperated by 640 miles of Atlantic Ocean to British territory.Technically, and this isn t common knowledge as its all hidden and concealed but both Canada and the USA are owned by Great Britain, which is in turn owned by the Vatican. Great Britain runs the IRS and a large proportion of US tax receipts go to the UK.

There is no British territory to the north of the USA. Canada is an independent country and is not British Territory.

It was right at the corner of Cabrillo and La Playa. Opposite side of the street from the Safeway parking lot. Basically the garden area between the cul-de-sac and La Playa. The Safeway lot had some smaller carnival type amusement rides.

It was facing the Great Highway, so it was about where La Playa apartments is. I remember going there when I was in high school and the Laughing Lady funhouse. A few years ago, the artifacts from Playland were in a museum down the stairs from the Cliff House restaurant but am not in S.F. so I don t know if those places exist.

you better watch out asking for a Fun House in SF..... you might find something you were not at all looking for!

What should I wear in NYC at the end of Dec. to keep warm? -

I m a born and raised FL girl, and have never experienced REAL cold before. Can anyone recommend anything to wear to keep warm while I m on vacay in NYC? Cheap, cheap, cheap please!

Temperatures below freezing are common. Below 10��F is exceptional. Below 0��F is very rare. Snow or cold rain is possible. Something with a water resistant outer shell and synthetic insulation would cover most likely winter conditions in New York.

I lived in NYC for three years and New England my whole life, and I d be happy to answer this for you. If you plan on doing the NYC new year s eve thing, I would recommend wearing long johns, (or thick tights if your a girl) under jeans/pants. Layers is key. I d recommend a long sleeve shirt with a sweater over it and a winter coat over that. Wear gloves, a scarf, and keep those ears covered. And for your feet, Id invest in a pair of wool socks, or winter boots. Now, this is overkill for during the day, but end of dec, I m assuming your going to New Years, and the temp drops dramatically at night. Have Fun.

May I recommend waring plenty of warm clothes. For example a coat, a pair of gloves, sweaters, and a hat.Good luck

Use more than one! Organize your photos into groups like fantasyland, tomorrowland, etc., and pick a song from each land. Start with When You Wish Upon a Star for when you first got there. Bare Necessities for when you re eating. Listen to a bunch of Disney songs with your eyes closed and pick out pictures that the song instantly reminds you of. If the rides you re on had songs (Splash Mountain, the Tea Cups, Small World) use those. It will make it much more interesting, I think, to use more than one song.

a good one for anything Disney is Zip-a-dee-doo-da and When You Wish Upon A Star those would be good to start and end with.but really it depends on what park, and what photo.If there is a photo that was taken on or in front of a ride than try finding that rides theme song.(Just beware of its a small world, that is known to drive people crazy lol)Have fun with the Disney songs.

For the most part yes, especially above Washington Ave. Philly has bad pockets all over it though. If you re going to be stammering around drunk I definitely would take a cab.

I d have no problem walking down South Fourth St. North Fourth St. is a different story.

I heard that a while back 3 people hanged themselves on the fourth floor of cumberland hall at frostburg state university, and thats the reason why it is blocked off...does anyone know anything about this?

I couldn t find any information about why the 4th floor is closed or any hangings. I would contact the college or the local historical society.

What can people who live next to the Central park, Manhattan, New York city do in the park every day? -

Everybody gave you great suggestion.. One more that works for me: meeting and talking with people. Nobody is a stranger, have good conversations and learn a lot. One thing is sure: you ll never be bored.
