I know disney is crowded around christmas but how crowded? -

i know on christmas day it is the worst but im going either 5 or 6 days before christmas will it still be as bad as going on christmas day? and are some parks not as crowded like epcot? im going to epcot and magic kingdom. Also can u get one of those passes where you dont have to wait in line or do u have to stay at a disney resort to get one? thanks! :)

Christmas Day the parks often close due to reaching capacity crowds. They sometimes do this the days right before or after Christmas, but Christmas Day, it s guaranteed. It s very, very crowded. Magic Kingdom is pretty much always the most crowded. Epcot is bigger, so sometimes it feels a little less crowded even if it really isn t.All guests are entitled to use the free Fastpass system, not just resort guests. Definitely use it!

Your best bet for Christmas time is to pick 3 or 4 must sees for each park and then figure those will be the only attractions you will get to see. The parks will be Kah-razy crowded. The people start coming the week before Christmas and most leave within a day or two of New Year s. You will also have massive waits for food, and, if you haven t made reservations already, you probably won t be able to enjoy any sit-down table meals as they will be all filled up. Something that you might enjoy which is less crowded are the Deluxe resorts. They are always decorated to the extreme. The fast passes are indeed available to everyone, but they also sell out Most of the passes for the popular rides will be gone by 11:00 in the morning. And since you can only hold one fast pass at a time, that mean you should only count on getting one per day. The rest of the rides you will have stand in lines (like someone else mentioned approx. 2 hours each). Good Luck. If you go in there with the idea you re not going to see everything you should be fine. If not seeing everything will ruin your vacation you should plan to go at a different time of year.

It will be very busy but the upside is that it wont be hot and sticky like it is in the summer so you can bear with the weather longer, in fact in may be cold depending on the forecast. As far as capactiy at the parks, ALL the parks will be busy including Epcot, the nice thing about Epcot is that its one the biggest parks so the crowd may not feel as thick but it will still be very busy and just as crowded as Magic Kingdom and the other parks. I recommend that if you will be there just go and dont worry about the crowds, enjoy yourself and be sure to checkout the holiday events. I also recommend that you see Illuminations as there is a special edition for the holidays that is a must see.

My wife and I went around this time last year and it was crowded but not too bad. They closer to Christmas the more crowds. It is this a great time of year to go and we had a ball. Here are some links to Christmas at Disney. Hope you have a blast.

Haha, your question brought back good memories :) I was at Magic Kingdom last Christmas Day. It was sooo crowded, you re always shoulder to shoulder with someone and once the parade starts, forget about being able to get around the park because the workers will tell you where you can or cannot walk because of the parade route. The lines are very long, but every guest is intitled to the fast passes, so definetely get them for the rides you really want to go on. Good luck

We were there two years ago from 12/15 to 12/21 I didn t think the parks were too terribly crowded. We went to virtually everything in all four parks and there were six of us (which included three year old twins; their 8 year old cousin; and the 75 year old grandma.). Fast passes (where you don t have to wait in line as much) are available to all park-goers and you get it from a machine by using your park entrance ticket. Below is a link to some information about the Fast Pass program.

Around the Holidays, Disney gets nuts. We re talking the gates are closed in early afternoon because the park has reached it s capacity nuts. And that s EACH park (MK, AK, EPCOT, DS). So be prepared for long lines and shoulder to shoulder crowds.

Insanely crowded. Good luck!

Its like the massive summer crowds without the dreaded heat!

It is so crowded that you can not move do not go around christmas

2 hour lines to put it simplybut if you re a regular to Disneyland then you know that this is very normal

Where are good, safe places to move to in Philadelphia? -

My girlfriend, friend and I are planning on moving to Philly sometime next fall and we are starting to get ideas on where to move to. We are looking to rent a house that is close enough to the city, but far enough away from the hub-bub and busyness of the city. We are hoping that the area or neighborhood is close to public transit lines or stops and that it is a safe neighborhood. Does anyone have any suggestions on what areas of Philly we should move to?

Look at Fishtown and South Philly. Both have a neighborhood feel but are still close to Center City. I live in Fishtown because it is safe and really affordable, even compared to most of South Philly. However, some will tell you that both of these areas are dangerous. If you re moving here from the suburbs you will probably feel the same way, but remember that this is a city and if you don t look for problems they won t happen. I have never had any issues, and the only problem any of my friends and neighbors have is the occasional car break-in. If you re curious the Philly PD has a great crime statistics map on their website (http://www.ppdonline.org/). Many will recommend Northern Liberties and Fairmount (the Art Museum Area). These are both great neighborhoods but prices are only slightly lower than Center City, if at all. Fairmount also has no public transit besides buses. If price is not a factor look at a Center City neighborhood called Society Hill. It s in the southeast portion of Center City and many of the streets are peaceful enough to make you feel like you re nowhere close to a huge metropolis. If you want something further away and don t mind a 15-20 minute train ride look at East Falls, Manayunk, and Mt. Airy. All great neighborhoods, each of which has a different atmosphere and group of people.

center city has great apartments and some houses but it s very expensive. definitely stay away from west/north Philly. South center city would be your best bets. they re very pretty and the people are extremely nice. once you get past the restaurant school it s basically ghetto. just stay away from north west and you ll be good : )

move to center city its right by the mall.

Autumn Begins WHEN in Mass? -

Any Massachusetts-ans who could tell me when Autumn arrives in your state? When it gets cold and all the leaves start turning? September? October? Or a different month?

Foliage turns in mid-October in most of the state. Earlier in the western part of the state, later is the east. The temperatures are mostly in the 50 s in October. We did have an unpleasant cold snap in October with some evening temperatures in the high 30 s in the Boston area. The past few days have been warm. It was around 70F yesterday and in the 60 s today. By the end of this month it will be cool and stay cool til March with the exception of a few heat waves in the 50 s to 60 s. The coldest month is January with lows in the Boston area to about 0-10F, colder in the western part of the state.

I ve seen the Swamp Maples start turning as early as late August sometimes. Usually the cooling starts to get noticeable in September, especially at night when you can open the windows and shut off the A/C. About the end of September it starts with a tree here, a tree there . Mid to late October is usually peak time with a tendency to start in the north and west, moving to the southeast with the cape being last. Usually with November s arrival is heard the melodious tones of a half a dozen leaf blowers in the neighborhood.

It gets cooler but not really cold. Although there is an occasional cold snap, daytime temperatures in the 50s are not normal until early November. 60s and low 70s more typical for the 45 days before that. Foliage begins turning in MA at the end of September, but is at its peak (the most beautiful being in north-central MA and west of the Connecticut River) from about October 13 to October 21.

Middle of October. Thats when it gets cold and all the leaves are falling from the trees. But in the beginning of October is when the leaves start to change colors and it look really pretty. Although this year before Halloween maybe 2 weeks before it snowed. So that was really weird.

How is chicago in the winter? like late janurary? -

I m gonna be traveling from kentucky to there my girlfriend graduates boot camp then and i m wondering will it be heavy snow? or anything like that i know you can t predict the weather but i was just wanting a estimate.

The snow may not be too bad - but you can (and should) count on very windy weather and bitter, bitter cold (In January -10 is not uncommon, and wind chills are typically in the -20 to -30s when the northern cold fronts pass through). If you are driving, make SURE your care has plenty of anti-freeze in it, and has been completely winterized. Also, please make sure you have a safety kit in the car will allow you to stay warm until help arrives - if you run into trouble. And please don t travel without a mobile phone. You should make it OK, because you usually don t encounter a lot of snow in Chicago, if you are prepared for the cold and wind. The windy city is a good nickname for Chicago.I hope this helps.

Expect very cold windy weather. You re coming at the coldest part of the year. Snow and blizzards are a real possibility even though the answerers above don t think so. Be prepared for a very cold time with a windbreaker winter coat, a warm hat, gloves and some lined boots. If you re planning on being outside over 30 min, long underwear will be appreciated.

It will be snowing and very cold and a lot of ice and at least below 0 also it could go up to -10 and the hottest it could get up to in January is probably 15 degrees it will cold really cold u should bring a winter coat mittens (gloves) a hat and a scarf boots and other stuff needed so dress warm for January in Chicago.Have a great visit to Chicago!!!!Hope this helps u on your journey to Chicago!!

It will be really cold. Probably snow. Lots of ice everywhere and people will be grumpy because it s gone on for way too long. But the good part, January gets sunny even though it s cold so it seems better than gloomy December.

In late January the weather can get pretty snotty.Lots of snow and ice. Unless they have a really, really bad storm come through they usually take good care of their roads.

More than likely it will be ******* cold, although if we stay on this path it could be like the winter of 2004-2005 which was mild.

you never can tell here It might be like 10f and dry, or 25f and snowing like mad.

Eastern Tennessee-whats it like? -

I currently live right outside of Pittsburgh,PA out in the sticks. I plan on moving to Eastern Tennessee when I graduate from College in a year and a half so whats a good town/city to start fresh from? I ll be 20 or 21 when I move...Is it true that southern women treat they re men better?-I sure hope so! hahah..... thanks for any/all help in advance!

East Tennessee is the most beautiful place in the world to live. If you want city living, then I would suggest my home of the past 20 years, Chattanooga. We have all of the restaurant chains plus some quaint, very good places that are only in this area. A new Volkswagen plant is set to open here next year and it will provide many jobs of every kind, both hourly and salaried. Also, the over-the-counter drug company, Chattem, is building another plant here to accommodate their growth in the areas of Gold Bond lotion and powder and Icy Hot ointment and patches, etc. We have beautiful Lookout Mountain with all the tourist attractions like Rock City and the downtown has the Tennessee Aquarium. In the fall (right now), we have absolutely gorgeous sights as the leaves change from green to red to gold and this is especially beautiful in the mountains. Knoxville with the main campus of the University of Tennessee is only about 90 minutes away driving North on I-75. Nashville, with major medical care and Atlanta with all of its shopping, sports, entertainment, etc. are each a couple of hours away. If you prefer a smaller venue, Morristown, a half hour east of Knoxville is a wonderful, smaller place with job opportunities. Of course, at some point, you will want to visit Gatlinburg and the Smokey Mountain National Park. This time of year is one of the best times for that trip. I hope that, wherever you decide to go, from the poor Appalachian area to the affluence of the mountains or the waters of the Tennessee River that you enjoy E. Tennessee and decide to make it your home! I was not born here, so I m not considered a native of the area, but I would not live anywhere else!

Most of east TN is the sticks except throw in the mountains and you get boonies. If your 21, then go to Knoxville. Its the biggest city in east tn where all the people have their teeth. UT is there so its got a big party scene with lots of people your age and you shouldn t have trouble finding a job. Generally southern women are nicer, but they can also be bitches (no one get pissed, I am telling it like it is and I am one) because of who thier daddy is. Good luck.

chattanooga is alright

Will I be able to find a cab at the Amtrak station in Seattle or do I need to call one in advance? -

I am traveling in to the Seattle Amtrak station on the Empire Builder on a Saturday. Will there be a cab stand out front, or do I need to worry about calling a cab in advance to come pick me up?

There is no cab stand. You will need to arrange a cab in advance. Where are you going? Public transport might be easier.Edit:Good news. The bus tunnel is open on Saturdays. That is especially good because there is construction on 4th Ave, and some of the stops near Amtrak are closed. So get off the train, go up the stairs (or elevator) up to 4th Ave. street level. Cross to the other side of 4th Ave. Go between two of the office buildings or around so that you are heading over towards 5th Ave. But don t cross 5th. The tunnel is in front of the office buildings, on the 5th Ave side of the buildings. Go down into the bus tunnel (stairs, escalator, or elevator). There are 4 entrances to the bus tunnel. Check the signs because only 2 of the entrances get you to where the 71 or 73 boards. Get on the MT 71 or the MT 73 bus. It will drop you practically at the hotel. Just ask the driver to point you towards the hotel building. The fare is $1.75. Have exact change. It s only 1.6 miles to the hotel. Not sure a cab is worth it. Plus I am super biased against cabs. The drivers can t read maps, can t find anything, and don t speak English. Although I would hope they can find their way around downtown. I know they can t find their way around the Eastside where I live. Your bus driver will speak English, and will be super helpful. You can even walk. Just walk up 4th or 5th. Not 1st or 2nd or 3rd! 4th or 5th is safer. I wouldn t do this with luggage though. It s 1.6 miles, but that 1.6 miles is up hill. I would definitely walk back though, if you have roller luggage, since it s downhill.Another tip is that a decent hotel like that should have a shuttle. You might be able to get the hotel to send someone to pick you up. Call them and ask.

Just arrange for a cab. The idea of walking uphill in the rain dragging your luggage is too much. Be warned, unless you are in front of your/a hotel, it is really hard to catch a cab in Seattle. Most residents would walk or ride the bus (on rainy days) Yellow cab Seattle: (206) 622-6500

i have been to seattle many times, and i have always had cabs available when i got off the train. unless your train is running really late you will be able to find cabs out there when you step off the train.
