Our sun is setting rli early over here... Like at 5pm it gets dark or starts to get dark I think. But yea... In addition to the restaraunt... there is Belmont Park! Haha. Rollercoaster.. Boardwalk type of a thing. I think it s super cute. It has shops... Of course the beach is right there as well.. A nice heated indoor pool that is usually very quiet and very nice. Other rides, games, and now an indoor mini golf.Oh ANDDD Sea World is not too far so u d be able to see their fireworks!! Gulf of Mexico..........? -

i enjoy surfing alot and just moved on the gulf. is it worth buying a board? how often are there waves?

There are rarely surfing waves on the Gulf. The waves there are minimal at best.If you want to surf, you ll have to drive over to the Atlantic.

Which skate shop is this in Avalon, Catalina, CA? -

We were in Avalon on Catalina Island, CA, and we came across a skate shop on the main street by the water that had some art in the windows - little birds made out of wood with straight wire legs (I think that s what they were anyway). I ve tried searching the internet for the name of the store, but I can t find it anywhere. Can anyone help me out? Thanks in advance!

How long did you stay in new york and realize its not worth it? -

anyone here have the same situation???

i ve lived in nyc my whole life but then i moved away for college. now i m back in the city and i cannot express how much more happy i am being back because there is no other place (except for maybe LA and tokyo) that is as exciting and entertaining. after my experienced in faraway land during college, i cannot imagine how boring life is in those quiet suburban towns...actually i can imagine it, i ve endured it during college.

Lived in NYC almost all my life, good memories. However, it reached a point for me where it became annoying; i.e, crowds, noise, high sales tax, packed buses/subways, apts. no bigger than a closet. On 9/11 I virtually ran out of my shoes-I commuted into NYC via PATH, worked a few blocks from the WTC, heard both planes hit, saw the North Tower out of my office window in leaping flames and a gaping hole. That did it. It took me a few years, but I cleared out.I truly don t knock NYC for those who love living there-but for myself I didn t like the feeling of being locked in. Manhattan s an island-heaven forbid something happens again, and I hope not; however, there s virtually no escape. Bridges, tunnels and ferries would probably go on lockdown.

Sorry, but it s quite the opposite for me. I came here over 30 years ago, and loved it so much I ve stayed and made NYC my home. I love it here. Couldn t see living anywhere else.

Well after a day I realised it s no longer the exciting, edgy city I was lead to believe, but is now full of yuppies and people who like extras from Friends

I live in Upstate NY. I love it here. Other than the copious amounts of snow I get delivered every winter. I have been here off and on for 20+ Years

You know, it seems to me that New York is way overrated. Personally, I would much rather go to L.A. or Bangkok or Tokyo.

my whole life, nonetheless seeing on my way to work celebrities sometimes walk down the street is a NY moment.

Can t say I felt that way at all. New York was everything I d hoped it would be and more!

New York City is the best

I lived here all my life and I am stuck here. Its not bad though.

nope i can not wait to move there when i turn 18!

Never. I ve been 15 months here.

Have you made reservations for the New Years Eve party at the Bada Bing, yet? -

I ll be in Jersey that week, and I d like to go.

But of course everyone who s anyone is sure to be there. lol

Singing at Disney Candlelight in Epcot? -

The choir at my school is going to Disney World next week and singing in the Candlelight Processional at Epcot. Were going to be there for 4 days. there are about 108 singers and 11 chaperones, not including the conductor and dance coreographer (sp?) There will be 3 busses full. here s our schedule: DAY 1:4:15am- arrive at school packed and ready to go5am- load the busses5:30am- leave the school9:30am- arrive at Disney World10am- go backstage to pick up tickets11am- spend the day at Epcot5:30pm- go back stage6:45pm- Candlelight Processional8pm- load busses 8:30pm- leave Epcot/go to hotel9pm- check into hotel/go to rooms11pm- lights outDAY 2:8am- wake up9am- breakfast10am- Magic Kingdom9pm- load busses9:30pm- go back to hotel11pm- lights outDAY 3: 8am- wake up9am- breakfast10am- Hollywood Studios9pm- load busses9:30pm- go back to hotel11pm- lights outDay 4: 8am- wake up9am- breakfast10am- check out of hotel/pack up busses11:30am- Downtown Disney/ Disney Quest5pm- dinner at Planet Hollywood6:30pm- load busses7pm- leave Disney11pm- arrive at schoolI have a couple of questions! 1) how much money should I take for lunches, snacks, and sovuiners for DW for 4 days? We already paid for the park tickets, Disney Quest tickets, and bus tickets. 2) what should I bring for the 4-hour bus ride? 3) what are the must-see rides/shows?4) how much do fast passes cost? and how do you use them? 5) I ve only been to Disney World once, when I was 6. so I don t remember it that well. Any tips I should keep in mind while walking around the park with my friends? I m really excited! thanks for any help and questions answered! =)

I don t think that posting your whole itinerary on here was really important... but whatever! It depends how much are you willing to spend per day? How much do you eat? What souvenirs do you want to go home with? Think about how much you would be willing to spend a day and stick to that budget! Money starts to add up at Disney World if your not careful! The minimum you should take is $100/day! Souvenirs start at around $20 and food (full meals) are at least $10 with tax. A bottle of water usually cost around $3 and a t-shirt will be around $15-30. $10- food$15- lunch$20-25- dinner$25-30- snacks$25-45- souvenirs2. iPod, magazine/book, puzzle book, handheld video game, etc you could also talk to some friends and other people on the bus who will probably be just as bored as you will. 3. Epcot:- Soarin. Go on this ride first or get a fast pass in the morning. This is the most popular ride here and the line can get up to an hour and a half wait an hour after the park opens!- Test Track- Mission: Space! - Spaceship Earth- turtle talk with crush- Innoventions. Its a building full of games and interactive activities. Spend an hour or two in here, you wont regret it! - walking around the countries. *Mexico and Norway both have rides*- the fireworks show is great too, but you guys are leaving before thatMagic Kingdom: - getting glitter in your hair at the barber shop near the entrance (its free!) - Space Mountain- Splash Mountain- Thunder Mountain railroad- Haunted Mansion- Pirates of the Caribbean- Buzz Lightyear- Mickeys Philharmagic (awesome show if you love music, which I believe you do!) - pooh bear ride- peter pans flight- its a small world (its a classic) - astroblaster- mad tea party- tomorrowland speedway- tomorrowland transit authority- firework show- light paradeHollywood Studios: - Tower of Terror- Rock n Roller Coaster- Toy Story Mania (lines can reach up to 90 minutes an hour after the park opens, so get fast passes or go there first thing in the morning)- Star Tours- Great Movie Ride- Muppets 3D- American Idol experience- hey! Maybe some of you guys can try out and perform? =) - Indiana Jones stunt spectacular show- Lights motors action show- Fantasmic laser show at night4. fastpasses are completely free! Once you get to an attraction, you hae the choice to wait in the line or get a fastpass. The fastpass machines are near the entrance of the ride. You just put your ticket into it, and you get a fastpass (and your ticket) back. Whatever time is printed on the fastpass ticket is the time you can go back to that ride and get front of the line privilege to that particular ride. But you cannot get another fastpass until the time printed on your previous one has past. 5. - wear comfortable walking shoes, not flip flops. Its terrible on your feet! - at MK or Epcot, go on the monorail sometime during your day. Ask a Cast Member to ride up in the front. Its a really cool free perk! - its been really rainy lately. It may or may not rain next week, but bring you own poncho with you. Disney chares $7 for theirs. Also, it will prolly be a bit cooler, so wear jeans and a jacket you can always take the jacket off if you get too hot!- have fun! and appreciate the fact that you get to sing in the candlelight processional. not many people get to do that and you will perform for many people who love that show and even payed money to see! its fun! - eat a meal and drink lots of water before you sing! and dont lock your knees! When my choir sang there last year, 5 of my classmates passed out, and I think 2 from other schools did as well! they provide a small meal (sandwich, chips, and drink) but thats not enough. so make sure you stomach is full before you go back stage!

I haven t been to Disney for about 5 years. I know Fastpasses are free. We never used them. The lines weren t long at all when we went in October. Fastpasses are just a skip to the front of the line pass. You get a pass that tells you what time to come back to the ride. You get to skip to the front at that time. Sometimes it s good so you don t have to wait in line for an hour for a 3 minute ride. If the lines aren t long to begin with then it s really not worth it. I went for week and I took about $500 for food and souvenirs. I did come back with some money. I really didn t eat that much. I was too busy to eat. But the food is expensive. Just have fun and don t worry about what you miss. I didn t have a plan at all. Sure I did miss some things, But I still had fun.

Oh the things you should know!1) prepare to spend ten to fifteen dollars per meal (just for fast food, sit down dinners cost way more) and about 5-10 dollars for snacks. About 50 dollars is reasonable for souvenirs2) and I-pod is a MUST HAVE for a bus ride, and magazines, they are fun to discuss with friends and I feel i get less car sick with them instead of books. Oh and paper and pens for stupid games to play with friends (maybe cards, but those are hard to play with on buses)3) My MUST RIDES-in the magic kingdom-Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, Thunder Mountain-Haunted Mansion-Tiki Room-Pirates of the Carribean-peter pans flight-astro orbiter (do it when it gets dark, best view of the whole park!)-buzz lightyears space ranger spinin Hollywood Studios-Tower of Terror (best ride ever!)-Rock in Rollercoaster-Great movie ride-Muppet vision 3-d (best show ever!)-Osborne family lights (only at christmas)-Fantasmic (great show)-toy story mania-voyage of the little mermaidin Epcot-test track-maelstrom-spaceship earth-mission space-Soarin (make sure you re in the top row)-honey i shrunk the audience4) Fastpasses are FREE! yay! you just go to a ride and look for the fastpass distribution signyou put in your park ticket and out comes a fast pass which gives you a time to come back and get in the fast line (it s like someone saving a place for you in line)I would recommend getting the most popular rides fastpasses way early in the day, because Soarin , Tower of Terror, Rock n Rollercoaster, Toy Story mania and Space Mountain sell out of fastpasses by 2 o clock5)It will be crowded when your going, so make sure to stick together and have a meeting place if you get split up, it doesn t sound like it will happen, but it does. And have fun, I can t tell you much else to do!hope this helped :)

Can i go to the park with my friends? -

How to get to Congress Theater Chicago from Lasalle station? -

I d be taking the metra train to Lasalle station, is there a bus from Lasalle station that goes close to the Congress Theater at 2135 N. Milwaukee Ave?

There is no station at Armitage on the Blue Line. I would take the Blue Line from LaSalle to Western. It is just a few blocks from there. CTA train fare will be $2.25 each way. Just load up a transit card with $4.50 before you go so you don t have to wait in line when you return. Another thing to be aware of is that there is construction on the weekends on the Blue Line that has it closed between Halsted and Clark/Lake. If that is going on, just walk north to Van Buren and take a Brown Line train around to Clark/Lake and transfer to the Blue Line there. The transfer at Clark/Lake is free. On the return trip, transfer to a Pink Line train at Clark/Lake and get off at LaSalle.

Take the blue line to Armitage station, then walk two blocks on Milwauke Ave.

you rolllln for deadmau5:)?

What is it like to live in Seattle, Washington? -

I was offered a job there for when I graduate college, so I may end up moving there. I ve been researching the area, and it looks beautiful, but it seems to be an expensive place to live. I currently live in a southern suburb of Chicago, just so you know haha What are your thoughts on moving to the Northwest??

No state income taxQuite a few days of drizzle but overall rain amounts are lower than MiamiWinters are mild, snowstorms rareFairly cosmopolitan but not like New York or LondonVery activist local and state government that likes to make regulations (some good, some bad, some well intentioned but bad)Reasonably good public transportation but not the world s bestSlightly higher educational levelCrime is not too bad compared with other U.S. citiesAverage rent is slightly higher but the range is lower. East of N. Michigan Ave. is expensive but there aren t too many places like that in Seattle. There aren t so many crime ridden housing projects like Chicago.Summers are usually not hot.Old people to young people ratio is average. Not just old people like some decaying cities.Better availability of crab and salmon. Some people are anti-car and purposely want traffic jams and vote for projects that cause this. For example, the main interstate has few lanes near downtown under the convention center on purpose.Skiing is not too far away. For a change, Vancouver is not too far away. Mount Rainier is close by.If you want to go to graduate school, the University of Washington has some good departments but there is only one school, not like Chicago where there s Northwestern and University of Chicago.

Driving from cle OH to jackson MS 16 HOURS BY MYSELF!!!? -

have u ever drivin for a long period of time by ur self how was it any tips or ideas thank you all

The first time I drove a long distance by myself - I set a rule that I had to stop at every other service center. I would get out - park away from the restaurant/truck stopp building - and go in look around the gift shop/convenience are - use the bathroom - get water, coffee pop etc and then go back to the car. When I m in the car - I do some periodic things to change airflow like open each window - one at a time. If I listen to music I try to make sure I m checking in with the local stations so I can know what weather etc is like.Sometimes - put the car in cruise and march with your feet. You can get too relaxed on a long drive so think of things that will allow you to move around some. It was important to take some time to look at something other than the passing countryside - to improve your focus. I still drive long distances - many times by myself and this strategy from 40 years ago has been a good one.

I ve never gone on a road trip by myself, but I might have a few tips...-Make sure you have blankets, flashlights, batteries, first aid kit, charged cell phone, cash, etc. in the car at ALL times. You never know when something might happen to you or the vehicle while driving so its best to stay prepared.-Don t over do it. If you get tired or stressed, find the nearest rest stop/gas station take a short break. -Make sure you never speed! The last thing you want is to be pulled over by a cop. -Just enjoy yourself. Get some music, and enjoy the ride. Driving 16 hours really isn t THAT bad. Good luck and have fun!

Make sure you have a phone charger in your car, and AAA. haha. Bring lots of music to listen to, and just take your time. Rushing will just stress you out. Try to relax and enjoy your time alone. Long car drives can be quite liberating :]Have a safe trip

Get some music or books on tape.

JUST GET SOME PILLS AND DRIVE AND YOU WILL PASS.

Tips for living in america? -

hi, i m a 19 year old guy who s studying digital design and media.(:building websites, scripting/animating with flash, commercials, posters, illustrator, photoshop, dreamweaver etc..)I am planning to go and find work in america when i graduate at belgium high school, so you could say i have big plans for the future.although i could also try a foreign exchange student program in america for my last year as well.America definitely offers much more options for the future, especially for what i m studying. My question is the following: how can i prepare for life in america, the best, in both ways: getting a job,/ studying there, living there, getting started etc..i realise this will get me very wide-ranged answers, but really, everythings helpful.(information from people in the sector with specific details are very appreciated)as i know people will be asking this:I m thinking about going to Los angeles or the state of florida, not really sure.any very important tips for that matter? Thanks!

you need a visa first. also, the best way is to go straight out of college for a job if you can get 1 here because businesses are trying to hire younger people. please dont move to la, because, part of it is that i hate people who only think of the city, and cities will eat you up if you arent careful. also, dont move to nyc too because its not what you think... i live near it. florida is for old people, so if your idea of fun is playing bingo at the community house on friday noghts, dont go.

Every third teen age male in the USA is studying what you are studying. There is no shortage of such people here and unless you become a world famous talent there, no company will sponsor you to come to the USA. Because they will not be able to get you through the labor certification process. If you are serious about coming to the USA after college, get a degree in engineering.

Well, I love Florida, but it s not really a hotbed for what you are interested in. You re going to find the concentration of digital media, computer graphics, and advertising in New York City, Los Angeles Area, and especially the San Francisco greater bay area. I think you are going to have a problem finding a good job though. In the US, companies in those fields do not often hire people out of high school. The American high school system is very different than the European model. They are generally going to expect you to have a college degree. You might consider attending an American university because that will get you connections in the business. Employers often have favorite universities that they like to hire students from. And at the moment, the job market in the US is terrible. You will have a very difficult time finding work. Moving to the US as a student on a temporary visa is one of the easier ways into the country and it will let you try out the American lifestyle. Becoming a citizen is a fairly long and complex process, so you shouldn t commit to moving here until you are sure its what you want.
