When I watch the television it says in America there are lots of fat people. Is that true? Is everyone obese there? Is it true that in America there are people who drive in a wheelchair because they re too fat to walk?
It s very true. Not everyone, but a lot of us are.Our health care is costly because people don t want to take care of themselves, which brings up the cost because so many people are going to doctor visits for DIABETES, heart-related illnesses, joint and back pain, and other illnesses because of obesity. Yes, a lot of people are so obese they drive in wheelchairs. My grandmother is a classic example of this. It s not rare. When you are obese it becomes exhausting for you to walk and your bones become weak. Imagine carrying a bathtub on your back all of the time. Currently, 64.5 percent of U.S. adults, age 20 years and older, are overweight and 30.5 percent are obese. Severe obesity prevalence is now 4.7 percent, up from 2.9 percent reported in the 1988 - 1994 National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Too many people in America either eat too much or eat unwisely, and probably most of us should lose some weight. However, most people are not fat , and the ones who are like you describe (wheelchair) are very rare. It s also NOT about our health-care system. Virtually everyone in America who is overweight is that way because they eat too much and exercise too little.
uh yea--they make up about 5% (if that) of the population---that means that about 300 million americans are fit and lean--AT SWEET--- you re way off-- 64% of americans are overweight and 34% are obese?? where did you come up with those numbers???
No but some american s are overweight, that doesn t mean everyone is.
On TV I don t see anybody over 100 lbs if they are girls...
