Im planning to move to florida by spring and Im visiting in January. What should I do to plan the move? -

I m wondering what to bring and research before I go down there. I currently work as an esthetician (skin care) and I m going to try to find a spa job. Should I bring my resume and go door to door? Or, because it won t be until spring do I just wait?? please help. I don t know what to do to plan!!!

I would determine which locations are safe from crime and which are not safe. You can do that on the web. Then, I would get the address and phone of every spa in the areas that are ok with you. To eliminate any shady backroom spas, call them with your cell (no charge) and ask them a couple of planned questions, such as, how long they ve been there, prices, hours, or something like that (leave it up to you to know how to discreetly eliminate the bad ones). Then I would mark the good ones on a road map so you ll be able to plan your route and get use to the layout of the area. If you ve already planned for a place to stay in January, great. If not, you should probably get that done now. I would briefly visit the spas in January, say hi to the managers, mention that you hope to be available in the Spring, looking forward to some miserably hot and wet summers in Florida (a Florida joke to loosen things up, y know?) and give them your resume so they ll know what you re all about. You never know, in January you may run across some places that would love to see you in the Spring. The backup plan is to come down in the Spring and hit them hard.In the meantime, take it easy, don t fret, and enjoy the holidays. See ya when you get here....I need skin help!

pull your head out of your butt to start, to plan the move you will need oi think for your selff and not ask stupid questoins

What is the closest subway stop to the Ellipse? -

My mother cannot walk very well and I am trying to find the easiest way to get to the Ellipse for the Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony.

The closest Metro Station to the Ellipse, where the Christmas tree is located would be Farragut West, on either the Orange or Blue Line. From there, it s just a walk straight down 17th St to the Ellipse. With that being said though, it s still probably a good half mile walk.

No, not Smithsonian. Unfortunately, there is no stop very close. If you look on Google maps, you will see that Federal Triangle is the closest, but Farragut West and McPherson Sq are also close. They are all around a half mile walk to the Ellipse. If she really has trouble walking that distance, you should spend a few dollars and take a cab from the metro stop you choose. If you really need to save money, you can take a bus: see wmata.com.

Orange/Blue Line: SmithsonianAs I remember, it s still a good walk--as you have to cross the Mall. Here s an interactive map of the Metro, so you can see where the stop is:http://www.wmata.com/rail/maps/map.cfm

Which Saint Louis neighborhoods are safe? -

I am planning a move to Saint Louis, but am completely unfamiliar with the city. I am a single white female, mid twenties, and a bit of an artsy-hippie type. In which neighborhoods should I concentrate my search, and which neighborhoods should I be sure to avoid?

Avoid north city and north county. Depends on where you are working as to where you might want to live for an easy commute. City areas such as Soulard, Lafayette Park, Benton Park, Central West End and even the down town lofts are relatively safe and areas with interesting architecture. Mainly young professionals. The Dogtown and St. Louis Hills areas are safer but not as interesting. South Grand area if you are careful about your streets is also a consideration. The University City loop is definitely fun but be careful not to go north of Delmar or east of Skinker. Clayton and Ladue are very safe and classy but not artsy and hippie. Maplewood is getting to be a new area that you should look into. If you want to go to the county I d suggest west or south county. West is a little more upscale and higher priced and the commute can be a bit longer into the downtown area. South county is very down to earth and a bit more reasonable for apartments. Both county areas are extremely safe

AVOID THE AREIN SOUTH ST. LOUIS THAT ALL STREETS START WITH THE NAMES OF THE STATES!!!! AND INDIAN TRIBES!!! (ie: California, Idaho, Cherokee.... But Chippewa is ok!) The area is so scattered as far as the good parts and bad parts..... Not worth the gamble!Avoid north county.Afton, South county, West county, Shrewsbury, Clayton, Brentwood, Maplewood, and Richmond Heights, Sunset hills, Ballwin, The Central West End. This area has a fine balance of homeowners, renters, and businesses. The architecture of CWE is reflective of the rich architectural heritage found in St. Louis. Located just east of Forest Park, you can walk to the St. Louis Art Museum, Zoo, Washington University Medical School, and more.See available apartments in The Central West End.Clayton (pricey!) is recognized for its outstanding quality of life. This suburban community provides the best of all worlds. Stately single-family homes, condominiums, apartments, and a vibrant business district offer a variety of living styles. See available apartments in Clayton.

If I were in your situation, I d look into Soulard, Lafayette Park, Central West End, Benton Park, the Dogtown area, Clayton (pricier and many families but still cool), and the U City Loop area. As a single, artsy-hippie type mid-20 s person, you probably wouldn t enjoy living far out in West or South St. Louis County as those areas are generally more conservative and boring. Many parts North County and north St. Louis city should be avoided as well.

I vote Central West End also because of all the Medical folks living and working in and around that area. Night life is more in tune with twenties+ age group. But, if you fall in love with a Doctor, my heart go out to you !!! You ll live a very rich lifestyle but, you ll see very little of your husband because St. Louis city, county and surrounding area s are about 800 sq. miles in the Medical field !!!

Has anyone seen the Bodies Exhibit in NYC? -

Is the Premium Package worth the money for the Bodies Exhibit? I m torn between General admission and the Premium Package which includes the audio tour. Would you recommend getting the audio tour?

Yes, I ve been there twice. I myself do not recommend the audio tour. I just don t think it s worth it. Just get the general admission and have fun. You ll probably be too busy looking at the penises and vagina s on the skeletons to hear the audio. LOL. If your really interested in hearing about the different organs and bones inside the body than maybe the audio is for you.

I did not get the audio tour and I did not feel like I missed anything, there are plenty of signs to read about what you are seeing. And without the tour you can skip areas that are too crowded and/or boring. You should also check goldstar.com I think they have discount tickets available.Bodies is a lot of fun though, really neat stuff.

Was just there on Saturday. I paid the $6 for the audio and never used it. The tour is self-explanatary. They have plaques at each exhibit clearly explaining what you are looking at. Don t spend the extra money.

What are your thoughts about Vdara at CityCenter? -

Vdara opens December 1, 2009 at CityCenter.

Beautiful facility. I live here and it was featured on the local news today. Dec. 1 Opened in the wrong economy. I do not know who can afford those suites. And if you read this page on occasion, most posters are looking for the nickle and dime rooms. Want free meals and even want free access to the resort pools. So do not think the posters on thsi board will be rooming there, and they will not be using the bar, prices are just out of sight

It appears to be a top level luxury hotel along with Aria and Mandarin Oriental. I m going on my 19th trip to Las Vegas in 2 weeks and may stay there. If not, I ll at least visit and take some pictures; and you ll get to read me blabbing about it here on Yahoo! Answers when I get back.

much ado about very little. what is its draw? there are many great hotels, with great restaurants, and great shows already; why would someone come to stay there? Completely wrong timing. No theme except that it is new. Big deal a few billion dollars, unless you like seeing a fool spend his money.

Yahoo Answers is not a social networking site and it is not an appropriate place to engage in viral internet marketing nor market research.

I have the feeling Dubai World will come calling in a couple of months to change the locks and throw everyone out.

it will be an awesome luxury hotel.

A luxury boutique hotel where no one I knows will stay
