It s plenty warm in the FL Keys to swim in December and January. You can sunbathe, too. The air temperature is usually in the 80 s in the daytime and sunny. I visited my grandparents in Boca Raton a few years back - in late January. That part of Florida that time of the year, the locals say that only the Canadians go swimming in the ocean that time of the year. While it was not overly warm, I did find it o.k. to swim. However, I am Canadian.It does get warmer as you go further south. So if you re not Canadian, make sure keep going down to the keys.
