Me and a couple of my girlfriends are going down to miami for a couple nights and wanted to look for a hotel? -

We want to stay right in the heart of miami on the beach but not looking for something to expensive... any suggestions? maybe a hotel under or around 100$ a night?!?!

Geography for 1st time visitors: Most visitors want to stay on Miami Beach, a city on a barrier island of the same name off the coast of Miami connected to it by several causeways. South Beach is the southernmost 2 miles or so of Miami Beach. It contains the best known beaches, shopping streets, clubs, dozens of hotels of varying size, quality, price ambience and the historic art deco district. To be in the center of or within walking distance of the center of SoBe you want to stay somewhere below 23d street (address number under 2300) and on or within a block of Washington or Collins Aves., or Ocean drive. Streets run from 1st on the South all the way to 85th up north. Address numbers follow the streets. Between 1st 15th Streets Ocean Drive fronts on the Ocean. Above 15th, Ocean Dr. ends and Collins fronts on the Ocean. Hotels with street addresses ending in an odd number are on the Ocean (east) side of Ocean Dr or (above 15th St) Collins Ave (so you walk out the back onto the beach). Hotels with street addresses ending in an even number are on the west side of Ocean Dr. or Collins Ave. and across the street from the beach.I do not make recommendations. Below are most SoBe ( some mid beach; add above 2300) Hotels their addresses to indicate location: Abbey, 300 21st Street, Miami BeachAlbion Hotel, 1650 James Avenue (1 blk west of Collins on Lincoln Rd), Miami BeachAqua Hotel And Lounge, 1530 Collins Avenue, Miami BeachAvalon, 700 Ocean Drive, Miami BeachBeachcomber Hotel, 1340 Collins Avenue, Miami BeachBeacon Hotel, 720 Ocean Drive, Miami BeachBentley 510 Ocean Drive, Miami Beach Best Western Beach Resort 4333 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach Best Western South Beach 1050 Washington Avenue, Miami Beach Betsy, 1440 Ocean Drive, Miami Beach Blue Moon Hotel 944 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach Boulevard Hotel Ocean Drive 740 Ocean Drive, Miami BeachCatalina Hotel Beach Club 1732 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach Cavalier On Ocean Drive 1320 Ocean Drive, Miami Beach Century Hotel 140 Ocean Drive, Miami Beach Chelsea Hotel 944 Washington Ave., Miami Beach Chesterfield Hotel 855 Collins Ave, Miami BeachColony Hotel 736 Ocean Drive, Miami Beach Comfort Inn Suites 1238 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach Crest Hotel Suites 1620 James Avenue, Miami Beach Days Inn Oceanside 4299 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach Days Inn South Beach 100 21st Street, Miami Beach Delano, 1685 Collins Av, Miami BeachDorchester Hotel Suites 1850 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach Doubletree Surfcomber Hotel 1717 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach Essex House Hotel And Suites 1001 Collins Ave., Miami Beach Fairfield Inn Suites Miami Bch 4101 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach Fairwind Hotel And Suites 1000 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach Fontainebleau Resort 4441 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach Geneva Hotel Suites 1520 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach Greenview Hotel 1671 Washington Avenue, Miami BeachHaddon Hall Hotel 1500 Collins Ave, Miami Beach Holiday Inn, Oceanfront 4333 Collins AvHotel Nash 1120 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach Hotel Of South Beach 801 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach Hotel Shelley 844 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach Indian Creek Hotel 2727 Indian Creek Dr., Miami Beach Kent Hotel 1131 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach Leslie On Ocean Drive 1244 Ocean Drive, Miami Beach Lily Leon Miami 835 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach Loews Miami Beach 1601 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach Lorraine Hotel 2601 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach Marriott South Beach, 161 Ocean Dr.Marriott Courtyard Oceanfront, 3925 Collins AvMarriott Courtyard So Beach, 1530 washington Ave.Marlin Miami 1200 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach Marseilles Hotel 1741 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach Mercury South Beach Resort 100 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach Nassau Suites 1414 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach National Hotel 1677 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach New Clinton Hotel Spa 825 Washington Avenue, Miami Beach Ocean Five Hotel 436 Ocean Drive, Miami Beach Parisian Hotel Suites 1510 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach Palms, 3025 Collins Ave, M BeachPark Central Hotel 640 Ocean Drive, Miami Beach Penguin Hotel 1418 Ocean Drive, Miami Beach President Hotel 1423 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach Riande Continental South Beach Miami 1825 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach Richmond Hotel 1757 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach Riu Florida Beach 3101 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach Royal Hotel South Beach 758 Washington Avenue, Miami Beach Royal Palm Miami Beach Resort 1545 Collins Ave, Miami Beach San Juan Hotel 1680 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach Savoy Hotel 425 Ocean Drive, Miami Beach Shelborne Resort 1801 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach Shore Club, 1901 Collina Ave.Miami BeachSouth Seas Hotel 1751 Collins Avenue, Miami BeachStarlite Hotel 750 Ocean D

sorry for that price in season you will not find anything good in south miami beach, maybe in north beach but it will be a crummy little place. If you want to visit miami and not spend more than 100 try staying somewhere near the airport and commute back and forth to the beach. otherwise try coming off season

Where can I find homes for rent in Cedar Rapids, Iowa? -

I m moving to Cedar Rapids and am looking for homes in the 600-750/month price range. Is there a good place to find these? Is there a place where there are just apartments listed as well (preferable online)? Any help is appreciated.

I would check the local paper:http://classifiedresults.com/real-estate

The building with big white cross u can see at night near I-59(its north of it), is that a church?what church? -

That is Sagemont Church. It is on Beltway 8 near I-45 South. Its website is www.sagemontchurch.org

Do you mean where 45, 59, and 288 all converge together? Cause there is a big building with a cross on it. It s part of the St. Joesph Medical Center. I believe the building with the cross on it is the Professional Building; but the whole hospital has several buildings and the church buildings are right there mixed in with the hospital buildings.

is it sagemont? There amid the regiment of high-tension, high-voltage power lines that line the South Beltway, Sagemont Church s brand-new 170-foot cross does not look as impressive as it might if it were situated in more glorious isolation. (The mountaintop Jesus of Rio Janeiro is 45 feet shorter but much more striking.)Driving up on the Sagemont mega-cross from the west, you don t even see it until you pass Blackhawk Blvd., and then, there it is, if not exactly lording it over all it surveys in its white as ivory splendor, then certainly standing head and most of its shoulders above the power lines. It is the first of what promises to be three suburban mega-crosses. Last year, Grace Community Church senior pastor Steve Riggle announced plans for 200-footers at each campus of his church - one on the Gulf Freeway in Clear Lake and the other on the North Freeway in The Woodlands. Grace s would be no mere symbols - each is planned to sport a ground-level, orb-like prayer center where the faithful can kneel and beseech the Lord for the well-being of our sinful city. Riggle says these colossal symbols would mark Houston as Jesus territory, which makes it sound like He is a pooch and we are his Holy Fire Hydrant.Sadly for Grace, the Federal Aviation Administration sent the southside scheme back to the drawing board as the church lies in Ellington Field s flight path. While Grace was licking its wounds, Team Sagemont beat them to the punch, hastily erecting the tall but FAA-approved cross that stands there the weekend before last. They came in with a crane and it was in three pieces, and it just went right up, says Dennis The Hippie Ierges. The Hippie and his buddy James Spiller - both homeless -- spend a lot of their time in a tiny city park in the very shadows of the Sagemont cross. I think it might be the biggest cross in the world. (Not quite: there is a 216-footer in Skopje, Macedonia.) Grace remains undaunted, and they still have plans for both crosses to go up. South Campus pastor Garrett Booth recently told Channel 2 News that even their diminished cross would be perfect for Houstonians, especially with all these billboards and adult entertainment places out here. Yeah, but if this outbreak of outsized crosses keeps up, Houston is going to look like a cemetery for deceased veterans of the Cyclops Wars. And shouldn t these churches be helping the less fortunate in ways more tangible than these flamboyant displays of faith? Not if you ask The Hippie. He says his son was baptized at Sagemont and that he attends services there. As for the cross? I think it s the Eighth Wonder of the World.

Could be Lakewood

You are referring to the cross at sagemont church. its off of 45 (not 59) and beltway 8

59 what? There are plenty of churches along 59.
