Which Las Vegas MGM Property is the best? -

I am looking to send my parents to Las Vegas for their 25th anniversary from Jan 16-Jan 19th, 2010, but I can t decide which MGM hotel to send them to. Since I am on a budget, I can t afford the Bellagio, but I can afford the 4 star properties. I would like a hotel that is on the strip and in the center of all the action, but isn t clouded with cigarette smoke. Is there one MGM property that stands out above the others and would be best for my parents?

I like all hotels from MGM property (MGM Grand and Mandalay Bay e.g. are very good IMO) but I think the rooms in the new city center are very nice because they are brand new. Which hotel you ever choose keep an eye on http://www.vegas-hotels-online.com - you will find there the latest hotel promotion codes for these hotels, also for Aria and Vdara which are located in the new city center.

City Center would be the best right now but it is expensive. Your best bet would be the MGM Grand. They have been running some good promotions. The center of the strip is pretty much owned by Harrahs with Bellagio and Mirage as their only remaining center strip properties.

Go for the hotels in the CityCenter, as they are having specials since they opened last week. For The Signature at the MGM Grand, try to use promo code SIG986 for a Junior Suite at $119.00 that included a $100 credit for dining at any Aria restaurant as well as a $50 cocktail credit at any MGM Grand bar.

I think Mirage would be a good resort for them. It s not overwhelmingly large like MGM, and it has a nice atmosphere. It s also located in the center of the strip, near many attractions, other casinos, and good shopping.

I would say City Center....Vdara specifically. Its non-smoking and non-gaming. However; there is a walk way to Aria which is a 5 minute walk and has a full casino. There is a ton of shopping there and restaurants. AND its brand new, the rooms are amazing and view is awesome!

The MGM is huge and can be a hassle to travel through the casino to get to rooms. If your parents are older may be a problem. The Mirage is nice is more centered in the middle of the strip.

MGM Mirage corporation has multiple properties. Since they won t spend that much time in the room get the best deal like at Excalibur. Check out www.lasvegasnow.com which is TV8 web with links and info

City Center is a dump. Go to Circus Circus.

Anybody familiar with 2323 9th Ave. SW Olympia, WA 98502? I am planning to rent apartment.? -

Anybody familiar with 2323 9th Ave. SW Olympia, WA 98502? I am planning to rent apartment named Cambridge Court Apartment. I wanna know the safety of the surrounding area. Actually I am moving to Fort Lewis with my military duty. I am from Maryland and have no clue about Washington State. If anybody can give me some idea about the surrounding area of Fort Lewis, I will be really appreciate. Thanks.

Not familiar with that particular part of Olympia, but having lived in both Maryland (DC metro) and lived in the Olympia/Seattle corridor, I doubt you have anything to worry about safety-wise. It s Olympia, it s small, it s the state capital. For comparison, I d argue plenty of places in Annapolis or Frederick/Ft Detrick are less safe than any spot you will find in Olympia. Images of the apt complex here:http://www.forrent.com/apartment-communiand some reviews here:http://www.apartmentratings.com/rate/WA-Reviews seem to be a mixed bag, some loved it, more seemed to have thought the managment is terrible. For what it s worth, you could check out the craigslist housing list for olympia (olympia is listed as a part of the seattle/tacoma region and NOT as part of the olympic penninsula):http://seattle.craigslist.org/oly/hhh/Enjoy the area. Summers are gorgeous. Winters are .... wet and grey.

I m not familiar with those particular apartments, but Oly in general is pretty safe. If you can afford to rent a house, you should look at Dupont. It is a really nice, new neighborhood that is a lot closer to Ft. Lewis.

Area around Fort Lewis is alright, Tacoma hill is horrible though. Hopefully someone else can give you a more detailed description of the area, as I am not that far south.
