Is it still possible to get a cheap trip to Hawaii????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? -

we live in california. of course my mom waited last minute to get tickets. we want to leave on december 26. soo there are 4 people. i was looking at hotwire.com and i found a package of flight+car+hotel for 7 nights for $7,156.31. it is $1,789.08 per person.is hotwire legitimate? is it a good deal? should i show this to my mom?

Yes, Hotwire is legitimate. I have booked hotels and airfare through Hotwire before and have never had a problem. It IS nonrefundable, so make sure before your mom pays that she knows exactly what she s getting. Once the credit card has been charged, it s too late to make any changes. I d be interested in knowing what hotel you ve been looking at. I stay on Oahu frequently and know many of the hotel properties there. A super nice hotel is subjective, of course, but I d hate to see you stuck in a fleabag (and there are a few) for the prices you re paying. You posted a similar question yesterday and prices have already gone up. I wouldn t wait any longer. It s only going to get more expensive.Good luck!

dude, why pay? just come here for free. my cousin swim to hawaii, and she didn t have to pay no flight or nothing. we all sleep on the beach also, because it is free. just remember to bring some blankets, because it can get cold at night.also there is plenty of free food here. just look in the garbage bins outside of any restaurant. you won t believe the great delicious stuff people are throwing away. the other day, i found a half eaten lobster tail. anyways, this is hawaii. there is a reason why they call this paradise!! because it s free for everybody to enjoy!!

there are quite a few sites that you can search that will likely give you the best prices available. check out the website BookMe and you will be able to compare prices on all the reputable travel sites in just a couple minutes. it s very convenient and will save you a bunch of time and money. Also, make sure you buy them online... otherwise they charge much higher fees for phone orders. good luck.

Call the hotel directly to book the room. Many are giving the 3rd or 4th night free, in addition to the regular discounts.Hotwire is best for booking cars. It is nonrefundable.A lot ot people like Kayak.com for booking flights.

that s very expensive, especially from LA and Sfo- however because it s the holidays and last minutes, I guess it ok.

Right now, no. It would be cheaper to go from Cali to Germany than from Cali to Hawaii.

Any rap concerts goin on in Atlanta nightclubs for new years eve 09-2010? -

im coming to atlanta december 31st 2009 till janurary 2nd 2010. are there any hip hop/rap concerts goin on dat weekend at any 18 and up nightclubs??..if not what would be the best 18 and up nightclub to go to and bring in the new year..18 and up with no dress code

Well, by law, all clubs and bars in the city of Atlanta have to be 21 and up if they sell alcohol....so you will not have any luck there.I know that Wild Bills in Duluth and Club Europe in Tucker have teen nights, but Im not sure if it will be on NYE. And they have dress code but not too uptight. If none of that works, you could crash some of the big hotel parties (W, Westin, etc). They have big parties and usually let anyone in. Just a thought.

West New York or Brooklyn? and why? -

Which is safer? Gonna study in Manhattan and will use subway.or Bronx?

Bronx is out.West New York is in New Jersey. You can commute but its more expensive and longer.Where in Brooklyn ? You can use the subway, fast and despite our complaining a lot cheaper than a car.Do yourself a favor and come see for yourself or at least get a good map so you have some idea the distances involved.

west new york is actually in new jersey, unless you just mean the west side in nyc- but that area is pretty pricey. there are ok places in the bronx, but it s about an hour away from manhattan. brooklyn s nicest areas are too expensive- you might try looking in queens. it really depends on your budget though.

The commute is pretty shorter from West New York and Union City. It is easy to get to Port Authority from these towns. They are just as safe if not safer than parts of bklyn and the bronx. And you get to look at a great view of the city from Blvd East. The major down side of these towns is the bus stops running around 12AM and doesn t start again till around 6 AM

West New York (located in NJ) is strict and recently had a curfew until the NJ courts overturned it.I would opt for Brooklyn over West New York.

Brooklyn all the way

What is autumn like in Los Angeles? -

Does it rain?Does the sky get cloudy?Do the leaves fall?

Fall in LA is basically an extension of summer. the hottest montsh are september and october. you do have some cold spells but it is generally still warm and we get heat spells as well. so cal climate is so random you never know what you will get. for example on thanksgiving it was 85 degrees where i live and i m only 5 miles from the beach. some areas reached over 90. then a week after thanksgiving it got really cold. as far as leaves falling, that happens everywhere pretty much. there is hardly any rain here. we just got our first big storm last week in almost a year.

It s certainly not like other parts of the country. Sometimes late September is the hottest time of the year. You almost always have a Santa Ana condition several times per month in September, and often in October and November. A Santa Ana condition is when high pressure builds up over the deserts of Nevada and Utah, and blows hot dry air over SoCal. Rain: Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Sometimes you can go all of autumn with no rain. We had a little rain in October, but this December storm is the first major storm of the year, with only a week left in autumn.Cloudy? Somtimes, especially closer to the coast.Leaves? Keep in mind that there aren t many trees here. The only trees we have in SoCal are trees that were planted by humans, except for some pines up in the mountains. We have a few sycamores here and there, as well as liquid amber. The liquid ambers near my house just changed LAST WEEK. It s very rare that anyone has to rake leaves off their lawn. And speaking of lawns, 99% of lawns stay green all winter.Like I said, it s not like anywhere else.

it s usually very warm and dry, we barely get any rain at all, and of course the deciduous trees lose their leaves, that s natural. We have the Santa Ana winds gushing through the valleys, which really sucks now since they pick up the ash leftover from the wildfires we had a couple of months back, that makes the air overbearingly dirty!

We will let you know if we ever get one.The seasons in LA are:NiceReally NiceWInd and Fire - Usually in what other places call AutumnMonsoon - Usually some time in what others call Wibnter. We have not had one of these for about 3 years now but had a bit of it last Saturday. The length of each of these seasons varies year to year. And can be from 2 days to 5-6 months. And a bit of one can happen in the middle of another.

Sometimes it rains, the rainy season is in the spring. Cool to warm days, with cool nights. Trees in So. CA fall by the calender. Not because of a frost, but the sycamore and liquid amber trees turn color and fall.

We sometimes get rain toward the end of Autumn. There is not much change of seasons here if we get it it is late in December. Mostly we get Santa Anna winds, and weather in the 76 to 85 range.

It varies year-to-year. I ve been here for 10 years and it seems like most of the fall season is when summer *really* hits (it get even hotter than it was during summer), and then winter/rain hits.

hmm wouldnt it be nice to live in los angeles, instead of dark at 3:30pm manchester, england :/

Recently its like summer.

Whats the best way to drive from Denver to Phoenix? -

The two most common I hear are south through New Mexico, and also west through the mountains and through Utah. One question I have is would the Utah path be dangerous this time of year? Also, could this trip be done in one day? Thanks in advance.

Its about a 12-13 hour drive (give or take for stops) through Utah...once you get past the mountains in CO you should be ok.Edit: Sorry I didn t check back sooner! The chain laws you hear about are for the semi trucks. They are not required for cars. As long as you take your time and have good tires you should be fine. If you are really worried about it you can go through New Mexico but remember that southern colorado often has nasty roads as well, I know the New Mexico mountains can get just as bad as the rocky s do.

I-70 to I-17 (Utah) its safe and takes about 12 hrs. 822 miles.good luck

Which states stay warm all year.? -

hello everyone. my family and i are in Peoria il. we lived in Chicago must of our life so we use to the cold. but we are getting sick of the cold winters and the snow. so can somebody please help me in searching for a state that stay warm all year around. p.s please list your reasons for picking the state. please and thank you. -william

HawaiiFlorida

This is kinda of a duhFloridaPros1-Warm most of the year Feb, being the coolest month normally around 60. 2-Never snows3-I remember swimming on Christmas. Lol 3-Beaches4-Disney World discounts if you live in FLCons1-Alligators 2-Hurricanes3-Pricey Rent4-Electric cost is highI lived there for 19 years. I now live in Ohio and hate the winter and hate the snow. LolHope this helps

Well I live in Hawaii and it s pretty warm here. I can t imagine anyone not wanting to live in Hawaii. But Honolulu is one of the top 5 most expensive cities to live in the U.S.A. (I think after San Fran)

Bikini AtolAll those years of Nuke testing would have to keep you warm.Mmmm irradiated.

Question about Hawaii? if you were to move to hawaii, what island would you move to.? -

not for vacation, but to live. what are rents like. cost of living etc

expensiveeeee

Depends, if you like more of the scenic area and landscape... Big Island, Maui, Molokai, and Kauai would be a good place to move to. There aren t a lot of shopping malls and a lot of the island is preserved. It s quit breathtaking. However, Oahu is the most industrialized island. Lots of tourist attractions, malls, you name it. I was born and raised on Oahu, pretty good place to raise your kids.Oh, yeah, the crime rate on the islands are low. You don t hear too much about shootings, murders etc. Just thought I d throw that in, any island would be a good place to go!

Aloha! If i still needed to work and didnt have an internet only job I would have to live on Oahu - there are more jobs on this, the most populated island!Rents will depend on if you live in Honolulu or in a smaller community outside of the city, even then the cost of living is high, so do your research and be prepared! Compare it to living in NYC or LA

i d have to say the Big Island, born and raised here and its probably one of the best islands to be on in my opinion and experience.

I want to know how many toll polls and how much it would cost from Florida to Chicago? -

Should be zero unless you take the Skyway bridge, which will just be a couple bucks. That is, to get TO Chicago, if you are going THROUGH Chicago, then it might cost you a little. Would depend on the route. For me to go from Wisconsin to FLA, it costs me one 50 cent toll, because I don t go through Chicago, not worth it and really I think the way I go is faster. So, too many variables here. But I have done this trip many times, my sister lives near Gainesville

Is pasadena, california a great place? -

by great place i mean not alot of crime or gangs, not alot of racist people and also what are fun things to do there? are there good schools?.. and good people? and beautiful girls? just curious because my mum wants to move there and i might aswell by the way im 17

Most of Pasadena is safe with nice people. There is a small area that is sketchy, but there would be no need for you to go there unless you lived there. Anywhere in the LA area you need to be aware of your surroundings. I can only tell you from my friends perspectives, and they like Pasadena because they don t see a lot of racism. Nice people, friendlier than some other areas of LA, imho. Many kids attend private schools in Pasadena, but lots of kids especially like Marshall, and also Pasadena High Schools, they seem to be the favorite of the public high schools. PCC (Pasadena City College) is a great 2 yr community college, and you can get guaranteed admission to a UC if you follow the program. Really nice campus, good professors, nice kids. Caltech, Occidental, Cal State LA, Art Center College of Design, Pacific Oaks, USC, Azusa Pacific are some of the other nearby colleges. Further away are UCLA, Pepperdine, Loyola Marymount, etc.Lots of beautiful girls of all types!Pasadena has lots to do, great shopping area in Old Town, restaurants, museums, theaters, upscale bowling (lots of fun even if you don t bowl), great hiking for all abilities. You can do an easy 3 mile roundtrip hike to a water fall across a stream (Eaton Canyon). It s neat being so close, yet feeling so far, from a city. Pasadena shuts down a bit early for my taste, but kids tend to find things to do. Also, kids seem to know kids at all the other public and private schools in the area, so lots of choices in friends. It s easy to get to other places in LA from Pasadena. Good luck!

You know, gangs are really over-hyped in the media. Sure, they are all over, but it s not like they are omnipresent.Pasadena has some REALLY great areas, as well as some less-desirable areas (like any town). Old Town Pasadena is a great place to explore, and they have the Rose Parade and Rose Bowl each year, which is a huge event. You ll find racist people everywhere, but most people in SoCal aren t racist at all. It s sort of a live and let live attitude here. There are TONS of beautiful girls here. SoCal is famous for them. There are also some VERY good schools in Pasadena. And some very good Colleges and Universities nearby as well. As for things to do, look at some of my other answers in this section. I post that answer about 10 times a day, and don t have the room to do it here. But you re about 15 minutes away from Hollywood, and 35 minutes away from Disneyland, for starters.

it s a pretty nice city to live in. but it s a large city (160,000) people, so it has a couple of bad areas. but it has some good schools and it is in the center of the LA metro area so you can do so many things the area has to offer. as far as the racism factor, well, that is not really an issue in so cal because it is probably the most diverse area in the nation. there are people from just about every race, religion and ethnicity. so bottom line i think you will like living there. good luck.

well its pretty safe and nice town although it get busy on januraly 1st for the Rose pardareand lets good colleges cal tech is thereand JPL is nearbyexcellent hospital are there tooI m not sure about the high schools thoiugh)they also have the gold line and their own bus system called ARTS

I personally love Pasadena.Very beautiful, very peaceful, crime is low I m sure.

it s alright. i really like going to old town pasadena :] lots of shopping and pretty good restaurants. there s an ice skating rink. the schools are pretty good. nice city.

Mum? As in what Australia and Britain say instead of Mom?I hope you have a green card.

probably one of the top 10 cities in all of California!
