How much would a ticket from baltimore maryland to new haven Connecticut cost? -

i was wondering because i see a college there i want to go to

If you re going to be entering college you then should be smart enough to figure out how to go to the website of the transportation method you plan to use, and look it up. That s what anyone else would have to do. My suggestion would be Amtrak. www.greyhound.com www.amtrak.com. (name the airline).com

there are quite a few sites that you can search that will likely give you the best prices available. check out the website BookMe and you will be able to compare prices on all the reputable travel sites in just a couple minutes. it s very convenient and will save you a bunch of time and money. Also, make sure you buy them online... otherwise they charge much higher fees for phone orders. good luck.

Which is the best and cheaper way from uptown to Laguardia? -

once I took a cab that went through a bridge in an industrial area and made all the way in 15 minutes,of course it cost me a very very good tip, but I don t remember the name of the bridge.

Uptown as in the 60 s or uptown as in Harlem which is 125th St ?If it was the 60 actually Midtown - then it was Grand Central Parkway 31st St over the 59th Street /Queensboro Bridge =very urban and industrial If it was 125th/Harlem then it was GCP over the Triboro Bridge w/Hell Gate Bridge sitting on your right as you go northThe cheaper way to do that is to stop in any Hudson Newsstand in LGA and get a $4.50 MetroCard Take the M-60 Bus one stop out of LGA to:The Astoria Blvd/31St Stop ,go upstairs transfer for free and take the N/W train into Midtown-Downtownor Stay on the Bus as it crosses Manhattan on 125th St Note :NYC buses do not accept bills as a form of payment ;exact CHANGE or MetroCards onlyEnjoy NYC

Drive home or fly home? -

I m going home Monday the 23rd for Thanksgiving and coming back that Friday the 27th. I don t know whether I should drive or fly. Flying would only cost me $200 roundtrip but there s the connecting flight and I don t know how bad it s going to be those days. Also, I have an appointment to get my tires changed because North Carolina (where I live now) has bad ice storms and the only way to do that is drive home. The drive is also 12 hrs long. So basically, is it worth driving home to get my tires changed?

FLY HOME ----------------------

Well, either way, you need to get your tires changed so that you are safe in your vehicle. You can get that done anywhere. However, 12 hours is a long trip and $200 round trip is a wonderful deal, especially taking into consideration fuel costs for your vehicle, rest stops, food, and your time spent driving. Flying is also safer and you save yourself more time to spend with your family.

well i happen to live in NC as well and i think the last ice storm was like 10 years ago that i know of you can wait one more day to change them it waould probably cost you more in gas money to drive and be more dangerous than flyin 200 is REALLY good deal especially for the short trip your planning

Only you can decide which is better for you. Which do you like better, driving or flying? Either way, it s going to be a zoo. If you ve already paid for a round trip ticket, you may not be able to get a refund on the return flight if you decide to drive.

The $200 round trip is a very good deal and since it will be 12 hrs. driving it would be about a 3 or 4 hr. flight with the connection and all. If you drive for 12 hrs. you will arrive tired but if you fly back you won t be tired and will have time to catch up.

I think you should just fly home

How to get free slot play in Las Vegas? -

I m gonna be going to Las Vegas for about 5 days in March 2010, and I was wondering how to get free slot play/coupons/comps in Las Vegas. Do I sign up for each casino s players club? Do the casinos have coupon books inside? Are there any casinos off the strip that offer any free buffets or free slot play? Could someone tell me the best way to get some freebies in Vegas, thanks.

Here s some great tips:First of all BUY a copy of the American Casino Guide 2010 edition - it s like 13 bucks on Amazon and it includes a ton of match plays, free slot play and show tickets when you sign up for various cards, coupons for double points for slot machines at several casinos and a bunch of food deals like buy one get one free coupons for buffets and various restaurants and free drink coupons. I go to vegas 3 or 4 times a year and I ve bought the book the last 3 years - it s a great investment. (In fact I m going to vegas in a week and I just bought a second copy so I can get the coupons back that I used during my list trip a few months agoSecond when you go to a new casino (keep in mind that many share the same players card/ownership) check out if they have any deals for sign up - many will give you free show tickets (riviera gave me free tickets my last trip for any show I wanted) or slot play. Also its a good idea to concentrate your play on only a few cards, which you should always use. Particularly if you think you might want to return to vegas sometime in the next year. Many casinos are hurting pretty badly and will send mail offers for free rooms to even moderate slot players - I m getting most of my stay comped this trip and I m by no means a high roller (or even a moderate roller). Stratosphere is notoriously good from free room offers to even low rollers (not a bad place if you re young and not rich), and the bconnected properties (Gold Coast, Orleans, Main Street Station etc) are also really good for future offers even to moderately low rollers. If you like the slots do yourself a favor and gamble downtown or off strip (The Palms is just west of center strip (free shuttle from Bills to Gold Coast which is across the street from Palms), has awesome slots, even better video poker and is a pretty hip joint. The other thing to do before you book a hotel if you dont have a comped room is to check for coupons codes for the various travel sites. Right now Orbitz has a deal for 40 dollars off 3 night hotel stays with the code AFFORB40 - you can get a room crazy cheap (under 10 bucks a night in some cases) Want to stay longer? Book 2 seperate 3 night stays and use the code each time.Lastly cheap out the website cheapovegas.com - a really cool review site - that will tell you alot about the various vegas casinos.Hope this helped.Adam

You will obviously find it much easier to earn free food at an old casino like the Sahara, as opposed to the MGM-Mirage Casinos.------------People like to join Harrah s Player club simply because they are the largest gaming company in the world, with dozens of casinos in several states. Harrah s tends to be more downscale than MGM Mirage, because they don t build their own resorts in Las Vegas, but instead purchase older casinos. They are in the process of buying the Planet Hollywood Casino right now.

Signing up for players clubs will get you some freebies. Some of the better give a ways are at Tropicana, Riviera and Casino Royale. You have to show your out of town ID to get the special $50 free play at Casino Royale. Tuscany allows you to pick a card out of a drum. It is coded with $5 to $20 of free play. Most of the off strip casinos have some kind of free play when you sign up. Terribles gives a lot of freebies to sign up for their club. You can go to this page and at the bottom you will find a link to click on to print out coupons for free things at Terribles.

The easiest way to get free slot play is to sign up for players club cards. Most casinos have them and sign up is free.Never play a dime in Vegas without applying for one first. It takes a few minutes to apply for one but it s your ticket to freebies. I personally have about 10 cards but here are the 4 must have cards.1) MGM Mirage Players Clubhttp://www.lasvegas-how-to.com/mgm-mirag2) Harrah s Total Rewardshttp://www.lasvegas-how-to.com/harrahs-t3) Station Casino Boarding Passhttp://www.lasvegas-how-to.com/station-c4) Wild Cardhttp://www.lasvegas-how-to.com/station-cHaving these four cards covers about 30 hotels and casinos in Las Vegas.

There are NO freebies like you ask. When you join the players club they might give you 2/1 couple for buffet. It is the local s casinos like Red Rock that give $ to join, usually $3-5. Comps are given to high rollerls, people who gamble a lot of money, not the average joe like you and I.

Check out this site, it will tell you where all of the deals and freebies are in Vegas.http://www.cheapovegas.com

Check out this club while in Vegaswww.vegasredrooster.com

sign up for players club is the way to go.

Yep players club is the way to go!

Is Ft Irwin in Cali a good base for a family? Are there things to do? Or are they any good family bases in CA? -

My husband is just joining the military, and we want to get out of Fayetteville. I have always wanted to live in California, but a friend of mine said there not really a good family base out there. Anyone know first hand?

If he s just joining, the Army will send him to his next school and duty station. You can request the west coast but, it all goes on the Army s needs, not your wants. My daughter just moved from Ft Ord / Monterrey to Fayetteville so she would have better knowledge. Personally, any base is what you make of it. As retired Navy, I ve lived all up and down the East coast, including 2 years at Ft Bragg as a civilian employee. Here s a link to Ft Irwin:http://www.irwin.army.mil/Pages/default.

Hi Jennifer,Ft. Irwin is the National Training Center (NTC) of the U.S Military. It s out in the dessert pretty much in the middle of nowhere. It s closest town/city is Barstow, California. And I really don t think there is much to do there at all. From there you re just about in the middle point between Las Vegas Nevada (east) and Los Angeles California (west), about 2 to 2-1/2 hours each way. But the Nevada state line is closer to Ft. Irwin then both of those cities. There s a few Casinos there if you like to gamble. One of those casinos is called Buffalo Bill s, they ve got a roller coaster and a water ride, and there s also some video arcade games. There s also a buffet... If being out in the middle of the dessert sounds good for you and your children, then Ft. Irwin is for you... Good luck!!!

Caesars Palace or Paris? -

I got free rooms for Caesar s Palace and Paris for 3 days in December. These are just normal rooms w/two beds, not suites. Which one do you think would be better for me and my family? I would choose Caesar s but it is on the other side of the street from the shops where my family likes to go to. So where would you want to stay?

Caesars, hands down! It is a far nicer resort, and one of my very favorites. The location is perfect - right in the middle of the strip and near all the action. It s really not hard to walk or take a cab, bus, or the monorail to where you d like to shop. But you can fairly easily walk to most other strip locations from Caesars. And Caesars has a great shopping center in it as well!

Caesars is the more luxurious property overall, and it s got the huge Forum Shops mall (over 200 shops) attached to it; and Fashion Show Mall (another 200+ shops) is about a mile to the north. There s more shopping on the Caesars side of the strip than there is on the Paris side.

have u ever been 2 vegas? the shops alone in caesar s should make you want to stay there! there is so much more to do at caesar s! it is a no brainer! i just returned from vegas, first time there and i didn;t stay at caesar s but spent most of my time there though!

Caesar s. The Paris is older and overcrowded. I was there in Sept. and I thought the room was a dump and the service was horrible. Unless you re ok with waiting until 1:30 pm to have your room cleaned.

Caesar s Palace, it s architecture is truly based on a Roman palace. What is crossing the street, every tourist walks around the strip all the time.

Caesars Palace all the way. Great rooms , nicer hotel.

Will airport customs check contents of external hard drive? -

This was asked previously (2 years ago) but I want to check with those who has experienced this. Because I m going to the US and I know they re very strict about piracy. I have some downloaded music files and videos. Some people say they may ask you to boot up your computer to check for porn (and unlicensed software?) but are they still very strict about external hard drives? Thanks in advance.

it s up to they.they have the liberty of checking every computer if they wanted (also external disks) it has happened before and it will continue, but you don t know who are they going to choose if they do it!but don t worry about it, i have travel many times and it hasn t happened to me!good luck!

US customs is not that strict about laptops and such, unless they have reason to believe you may have unlawful contents on your laptop or hard drive. They simply have you take your laptop out from where you were carrying it to screen through security so it doesn t set off anything and they can visibilly see it. They don t have the time to have everyone boot up their laptops to go through every file one by one.

definatley not. i bring in multiple hdd and laptops at one time, and they didnt check any thing.if you self-consious about the harddrive then they ll ask ask you but just leave it in your laptop case, and no-one will care :)ps happy downloading :)and dont download too much porn :p

I have taken a laptop to the states from the UK, and they didn t ask me to turn it on to check anything. Don t think their worried about someone having a few pirated movies. More paranoid about weapons and the such.

Do you know how many laptops and hard drives go through LAX every hour ????? I ve never heard of such a thing....It doesn t make sense...

I have never had a problem like that.Plus, it s not their business as to what you have on your hard drive.

How are these states different from North to South? -

I am talking about cultural and economic differences WITHIN the following states:Virginia, West Virginia, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Missouri, Delaware and Florida.I have heard that the northern parts of those states are totally different from the southern parts of the same state. I am interested in finding out the cultural and economic differences. The weather and physiographic differences are pretty easy to figure out.

Virginia and Florida I can answer. I lived in both, I am curious what people will say about West Virginia though as I have lived on both ends of that states as well and not much different from either end. except the possibility of going from a redneck in the north to being a hillbilly in the south. Virginia is very different from north to south especially the southwestern part. Eastern and Northern VA is very multicultural with all ethnic and racial groups being mixed together. While the southwest corner, especially Lee, Scott, Russell, Tazewell, Buchanon, and Smith counties are very much Caucasian with quite a few of the people who have Native American ancestry mixed in, mostly Cherokee. The people on the eastern side of the state are very political minded whereas the counties mentioned most of the people there would simply just like to be left alone. Outsiders are not welcomed for quite some time if at all. There roots are dug in deep, they do not want to leave and they do not want anyone coming in as this would unbalance all aspects of life there. Most of the people in these counties would be considered poor by most Americans standard yet most owe nothing on what they own. They paid cash for it, it is theirs and the bank is not going to be taking it away, Which in my opinion is a good mindset. Would be nice if the rest of the country thought that way. Here is a website about one of the small towns there http://www.honakerva.com/ Honaker is off the beaten path, very family oriented and really wants nothing to do with the outside world, Outside meaning anything over 15 miles from the center of town. Even Lebanon which is only 12 miles away and the county seat is usually considered outside to them. Religions are mostly Pentecostal and Baptist. The teachings of hell fire are not only taught but for a few sought after. As one of my cousins informed me, there is a hell fire, I am sure of it, and I am looking forward to getting down there soon, I miss all of my friends Florida, is the only state I know of that changes the directions of the earth. What I mean by that, is that in Florida the farther south you travel the more north you go. OK, I know that sounds weird but that is how it was told to me by a good friend in Miami. Florida does seem like that though. If you stop and ask people in the northern part of Florida where they are from, they will usually say Florida, get down to Daytona Beach the answer will be North Carolina, by the time you make it to Homestead, Florida you run into many people who are from Michigan, Massachusetts and the other New England states. Also the farther south you go, the richer the people are. Which is a good things since everything in the southern part of the state has to be shipped in from farther distances creating an extra expense for everything. The only thing that gets cheaper by going south in Florida is the sunshine, which there is plenty of all the time by the time you get to the Keys. Again Florida is much like Virginia in the aspect that the northern people are from there and plan on staying there, mostly caucasian while southern Florida is very mixed with a very large number of hispanics from Cuba and Haiti around Miami
