Gee, I dunno. That s a tough one.I like dead people
It depends on what city you are in and also the location of the city. (F.Y.I: Most of the time the cheaper the apt ,could possibly be not such a good deal after all). Good luck!

You can try North American or Allied Van Lines. They both do cross-country moves anywhere in the country.Good luckNative New Yorker
With UHaul, you drive the truck.Any moving company will be pleased to load and haul for you. Look on-line or in the phone book under Moving. Do not move what you do not need or want to keep as it is by the pound and cubic foot!
There are several companies who move people as their main business. One word of warning: use one of the well-known companies. A lot of people try to save money with an unknown company and never see their stuff again. Some of the well-known names are:Mayflower United Van LinesNorth American Van Lines
Best way around- Public transportation or walking. Best metropolitan transportation in the world and a bargain at $2.25. That even gets you a transfer under certain conditions. Walking is fun because there is so much to see.Where not to go? The city is basically safe, but stay out of alleys after dark. Parks at night are a bad bet. There are a few dicey neighborhoods. Not all of Harlem, but spots. Not all of the Bronx, but spots, etcFood can be expensive, but doesn t have to be. Some people swear by street food, but I always doubt their hygiene. Ditto salad bars. Pizza shops abound, Chinese take out, diners, coffee shops, ethnic restaurants. Meals can often be had in all these places for $5-$10 if you choose carefully. There is no upper limit at what you can spend. We have a lot of free entertainment here, especially in the summertime, lots of free concert series, outdoor movie presentations.Plan to have fun while you learn; it is easy here
In regards to transportation, public transit is the best way to get around the city. I highly recommend the subway, which is cheap and efficient. The fare on the subway is $2.25 a ride, regardless of distance. A big money saver will be purchasing an unlimited ride MetroCard for use on the subway and bus system in the city. There are five different cards to choose from, however, I would recommend three that will useful.7-day unlimited ride card, which will cost you $2714-day unlimited ride card, which will cost you $51.5030-day unlimited ride card, which will cost you $89.The New York City subway runs 24 hours a day, 7 day a week. The system never closes.I hope this information is very helpful.Good luck

Your body and those of your family are not adapted to the climate difference, you bundle up at 60, while here in NYC 50 is still light jacket weather because we re used to the cold. Just bring what you know will keep you warm. In your case, it d probably be a heavy jacket and some thick gloves. just don t be surprised if you see one of us walking around in a thin sweater while you re shivering.
My friend, first of all it can get cold in mid December. Temperatures in the city can rage from the low 30s to the low 40s, which is a lot colder than in Florida. Therefore, I would recommend packing plenty of warm clothes. For example, jackets, sweaters, hat and gloves. In regards to tours, may I recommend Grey Line Sightseeing Tours, which is one of the best in the City. Its not a walking tour, it a bus tour. The link below is the official website.http://www.coachusa.com/newyorksightseeiI hope this information is very helpful.Good luck

im from the decatur and u got ur good and bad parts, but thats all over atlanta. if u live near the city of decatur that area is really nice and clean, i mean everytime i go to the city the cop are out and rolling. But everything is right there , the marta station is there, all kind of great food spot are there, u would love the city of decatur, but outside that u got malls and flea markets but its some good people with dreams and faith all over decatur just like anywhere else in the US!!! JUST COME VISIT FIRST dont just come down off what the people on here are saying!!!
Decatur is a mostly white by a large margin. Cynthia McKinney, while a great representative of our district lost to Denise Majette several elections ago and has since quit the Democratic Party and joined the Green Party and was their presidential nominee last time around. Currently our representative is Hank Johnson. The town of Decatur is surrounded by unincorporated parts of DeKalb county and both are referred to as Decatur.Downtown Decatur has a wonderful life. Each year we have a beach party where they bring in tons of sand so that the kids can play in it in the square. they charge $5 for it, and they buy fireworks for Independence Day. We have a wonderful arts festival, music in the square, a world renown book festival, an excellent October Beer Festival, great restaurants and bars that don t allow smoking. (I went to a bar in Atlanta recently, and wow I had forgotten how smelly you get). And its really safe there. The police are a wonderful bunch of guys and gals. Lots of churches in Decatur, and (which is good and bad. they don t pay taxes, so it s a pain). Quakers, Christian Scientists, Presbyterians, Episcopalians, Baptists. A mosque and synagogue are not in town, but near by. There are even lot of Mormons and Wiccans, Hindus and Buddhists.Decatur is largely quite liberal compared to the rest of the Atlanta area. We get involved in politics, and its not unusual to see a peace rally downtown. We are home to a large number of Lesbians and Gay Men, and we are proud of that kind of diversity.I think it is a wonderful place to be. I compare it to Asheville NC, Burlington VT, and Austin TX.My wife and I don t have children, but we are glad to pay taxes to have good schools for your children. You are welcome to come to our town and call it yours. We hope you are as diverse in your views as we are.
There are some very nice affluent areas in Decatur. It is one of the nicest intown neighborhoods close to the city of Atlanta. But it also has some of the worst sections in the metro area for run down neoighborhoods, crime and gangs. In other words, it s no different than any other city. The average household income in Decatur is over $82,000 (US average is $66.6K) 75% of the adult residents have above a HS education.21 % of the population is under age 18Dekalb County public schools aren t the best in the metro area but you will find some of the best private schools and universities close to Decatur.
Decatur sucks. It is in Dekalb county which is very corrupt, high crime and murder rates. Worst of all, it is in Cynthia McKinneys district which explains the aforementioned.
its in a mostly black community
