The majority of machines in the US only give out $20 bills. You might find a machine that gives $10 bills. Even more rare, some older machines give out $5 bills.ATM limits are based on your bank s limits. My one bank has a $1,000 daily limit while my other bank has a $2,500 daily limit (obviously I ve never had to worry about the latter one). Also machines have their own limits. Most machines at banks have transaction limits of $500 to $1,000, while machines in some stores only have $200 transaction limits.Twenty years ago, some banks experimented with machines that gave $1 bills and even coins. They were extremely high maintenance and only lasted for a couple of years.
The $20.00 bill is what you will get at bank machines. Remember to clean the coke off the edges, since more than 50% of U.S. bills contain traces of cocaine. You will pay a charge plus your banks charge. So you may pay double what you pay in the U.K. to use your bank card. Be aware of private ABM s located in stores. They charge more than bank ABM s due to the convenience.Example There is a ABM in Bangkok beside my apartment they charge you $5.00 U.S to use the machine, because it is convenient for people needing to pay their rent. Take some cash with you to save on withdrawl fees.
Generally machines here dispense $20 and $50 bills (depends on specific ATM machines), up to a limit you set at your bank.
most are just $20 bills but some are $5, $10, and $20. limits are based on account type and average balance. limit may be raised if you have direct deposit. my personal limit is 600.
