Dallas may get snow once or twice a year, but it s easy to forget because it seldom sticks. We actually had a beautiful snowfall the first part of December this year, and a few of the northern suburbs were white for several hours, but the southern Dallas suburbs had to enjoy seeing the snow falling because it melted as soon as it hit the ground. That s because a couple days before the temp was 70, so the ground was warm. What you re more likely to see in Dallas in January or February is ice. We get sleet every winter and the freeways become elevated ice rinks for cars. However, that seldom lasts more than a day. Summer on the otherhand lasts for 5 months or more.
Not often. When I was growing up in Dallas, it snowed an average of about one or two days per year, and the snow almost always melted by the end of the day.We also got, on the average, about one ice storm per year. An ice storm (freezing rain/sleet) is different from (and much worse than) a snowfall. The climate seems to have gotten warmer, though, so we ve had some recent winters with no snowfall at all.People in Dallas still sing Jingle Bells at Christmas time, but I can t figure out why. Most of us have never seen a one-horse open sleigh, or any other kind of sleigh.
It may snow about 1-3x a yr. The snow rarely sticks we mainly get rain that turns into ice on the roads. The most snow I have ever seen in Dallas is 6inches and it was a big deal. People made snowman and had snowball fights.
it does not often maybe once or twice per yr, and every few years we get a few heavy snows.
At times say 1 to 3 times a year
yes it rare nothing serious
Yes, but rarely. It has even snowed in the past two weeks.
