All inclusive resort in US by the beach where they serve you on the beach? -

I m trying to help my friend find a resort/all inclusive package for his honeymoon next summer. He would like to find a place which is all inclusive, and that would serve them drinks on the beach. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. And he doesn t want to go outside the US b/c they don t have passports and don t really want the trouble to get some. Thanks!~!

I don t think there are any all-inclusive resorts in the US.However, you don t need a passport to go to the US Virgin Islands. This site might help: http://www.virgin-islands-hotels.com/mar

Thinking of moving from Miami, Fl to Portland, Or? -

I grew up here in Miami and will probably live and die here, unless I move and explore a new part of this great country. I am tired of the south florida scene, tired of the traffic and rude people I encounter. I am looking for a change of pace where people are polite, there are actually seasons plus efficient public transportation. Portland is hiring in my field of employment. Any suggestions, pro vs cons? I am torn with the idea of leaving my family behind and quitting my job. What do you say?

No it doesn t always rain in Portland.. tho we do get a lot from Nov-March. As to your job situation, I d say stay as you have a job, plus out here it would depend on the field as Portland s unemployment rate is 11.3% down from 12% and theres not too many new jobs opening up nor comming in. Across the river in Clark County WA the unemployment rates over 13.6 %. so you re going to have a lot of competition when it comes to looking for a job out here with so many out of work and laid off. Good luck.

Technically, Miami gets more annual rainfall than Portland. It is however drizzly on a frequent basis from November - May. We have beautiful summers here. Unemployment has been tough here so I would recommend applying for some jobs and talking to those companies and potentially coming out for a visit first. I ve only briefly visited Miami and it s quite a different lifestyle than that of Portland - people seem to either love it or hate it here. But if you come in with an open mind and sense of an adventure I think you ll find Portland to be a great city. You ll find some additional links below that might help you decide.

I lived there for about 4 months, and it seemed gloomy and cloudy all the time. However, I was there in late summer/autumn. You dont have to move somewhere to experience this country.Thats a lot of uprooting and expense, if you dont like the place. Its worth spending a little money and vacationing somewhere before packing up and moving there. I say this, because thats exactly what I did when I moved to Portland. Got stuck there, couldnt find a job, and didnt like the city that much. Im sure it has good points, but my experience wasnt a good one.

I would say your moving to one armpit to the other. Portland is beautiful but rains daily and that get old fast. I would look into Denver or Salt Lake. More jobs in Denver but Salt Lake is cleaner with better skiing. don.shaw@yahoo.com.

The NW is FULL, stay there.

u know the drill life is what you make of it. For people who don t like gray canvases with sharp colors of the world moving by they will hate portland. The air here is so fresh from all the trees, and the fall leaves are amazing. Probably not as beautiful as the NE from what I hear, but I can t complain. It does rain here a lot, but most of the time it s drizzle, and it s not every day all year long. I prefer the rain then snow in the winter, but that s just me. I love the storms we can get, but wish for more lighting. IDK I love it here. I was born here and spend time in California, but I m a PNW girl at heart and had to move back. It s true that you have to love adventure b/c most people who are mall types will not like it here. Many of us roam around looking for an adventure like checking out the tube caves near Mt. St. Helens or caves in the trails of two forests. There is always something to do and people here never let the rain stop them. I guess some people just need the sun to prove that they are living, and that s fine, but I like living in a place that has people who look beneath the surface for the diamond in the rough because there are so many places around here (should you not have any forms of debbie downess) to explore. I love our beaches! Now they are real adventures!! I love camping ten feet from the sand and it s cool to see pine trees growing from the sand! I love it! I know this is too long, but I just love it here. I would never live anywhere else. Some people hate it because I suppose they have no imagination or are just depressing people by nature, but in life your attitude really effects how the world will treat you.
