Can someone give me some direction on a trip to New York? -

I m looking to go to NYC with a few people this March. I once went to Chicago with a friend and we stayed outside of the city, next door to a metro stop so we were able to go into the city every day. The thing is, I m sure this is possible in NYC, but I don t know which area to look for. Can anyone recommend what to do? We re looking to drive, so it would be nice to stay outside of the city near a metro stop where we could park. Thanks!!!

what the hell is a metro stopIf you want to park outside NYC, in addition to NJ look at the outer boroughs which are mostly residential.

The New York subway does not go outside the city limits. There are commuter trains that go to Westchester County, Connecticut, Long Island, and New Jersey, which you could take, but if I were you, if I wanted to visit NYC I would stay in NYC. Anywhere you have to take a train you re talking about at least half an hour each way plus whatever hassle there to get from where you re staying to the station. When we drive to NY, we often park at the Croton-Harmon train station in Westchester, which has cheap multi-day parking, take the train into NYC, and stay in the city.

you will have to stay in nyc. If you don t it will be hard and expensive to get there because there aren t any metro stops outside of nyc. If you re looking to save some money and park the car while you go check out the sites and tourist spots, i recommend staying in brooklyn or queens. The hotels are cheaper there and less tourists. There are a lot of trains that can take you from there, and they will get you anywhere you want in nyc. I recommend brooklyn, that way you can see the hudson river and go through the brooklyn bridge to manhattan for example. (if you take the D, N,or Q trains though) or go to the other side of brooklyn to see verrazano bridge, etc

If you re looking to stay outside of the City, look no farther than Jersey City, NJ, which is located right across the Hudson River from Manhattan. You can commuter into and out of Manhattan on the PATH Train, which is a commuter interurban train that travels between NYC and the cities of Hoboken, Jersey City and Newark. The link below is the location of hotels in Jersey City.Good luckNative New Yorker

Where should me and my friends go in New York City? -

so this December me and my friends are going to New York City for Christmas time, we do it every year. Last year we went to the wax museum and had an awesome time. This year, we want to do something like the wax museum but can t think of anything to replace it. Does anyone have any suggestions?

There are lots of museums. I m guessing you like the more interactive type museums so here is my list of favorites:The Museum of natural history. I ve been there twice within the last year, I still don t think I saw all of it!! They have a nice collection of historic artifact that detail the start of humans, and start of cultures bae on country/region/religion... as well as animal kingdom and nature. Their feature exhibits change often and are quite fun. The museum of sex if really fun and interesting for adults (must be 18+), but it isn t for the squeamish or easily offended. There is a wall of every condom ever made, ancient sexual art, history of porn, an exhibit of sex dolls, ect. It was quite entertaining went with my best friends and there was a singles mixer being held there LOL (We didn t attend the mixer but people kept asking us for our date number...!!!)I also really like museum of the city of new york. The exhibits take you to old New York, future new york, history of fashions/ night life/ apartment interiors using photographs, design, costumes and artifacts. It s a lot of fun and changes often so I will definitely go back here.

SoHo - Vintage shopsChinatown - Neat Chinese shops with all kinds of crazy neat stuffFinancial District - Awesome store-lined narrow streets, it s feels like a maze! It s fun to just get lost it.

Is there a navigable waterway from Louisville KY to lake Erie? -

Shortest way I can think of would be west down the Ohio River to the Mississippi River, north to the Illinois River to Lake Michigan, to Lake Huron, then down to Lake Erie.Another way would be west down the Ohio River to the Mississippi River, down to the Gulf of Mexico, up and around the Atlantic Coast and back in through the St. Lawrence Seaway.Neither way is short.

Has anyone been to Nevada city? -

what state do you think it is in if you have been there, what did you like?

It s in California, by Grass valley.

It s in California. It has a lot of historical buildings from the Gold Rush days!

If youre from or have visited Boston, Cleveland, or Philidelphia? -

What is your favorite thing to do in which ever city you re from. Like where is a good place to spend the day? Me and my friends are going on a road trip and are spending a day in each of these cities and need something to entertain us. Thanks!

I live outside of Boston...The Freedom Trail is the way to go. You ll get a full experience of history and see a bit of the soul of New England

What is a good price for a 1 or 2 bedroom college apartment in the Lakeview area of Chicago? -

Moving from TN where something like that will run about 500-600 a month for a good 1 bedroom, and about 800-1000 for a good 2 bedroom. What can I expect to pay in the Lakeview, Belmont, Edgewater, etc. areas of Chicago? What s the best place for people right out of college?

You re prices are 1/2 of what a 1 BR and 2 BR apartment will be in Lakeview. It is one of the most desirable neighborhoods in the city. You need to expand your search to include studios. They are in buildings built in the 20 s and have huge rooms and closets, and are cheaper without having to have a roommate. Most students just need a bed, desk and somewhere to throw their clothes.I picked some neighborhoods you might be interested in. http://www.apartments.com/Results.aspx?p

If you can prove your in school going to collage they usually give a student discount. Other wise your looking at rent in that area. 875. to 1000 for a studio apt. and 1000 to 1300 for a one bed room . Your paying for the area bummer how land lords take advantage. Wish you best.

At least twice the prices you have given.
