Where was your best vacation ever? -

Best vacation in the U.S. was out to Colorado. That was when I fell in love with Colorado. Internationally it was to Munich, Germany.

It was in San Francisco and Monterey, CA. I visited Alcatraz, Muir Woods, drove across the Golden Gate Bridge, Golden Gate Park (visited the Botanical Gardens), Chinatown (took a Fortune Cookie Factory Tour), shopped at Pier 39 and The Embarcadero, dined at Fisherman s Wharf, had a great view of S.F. at the top of Coit Tower, drove down Lombard St. (the crookedest st. in the world), The San Francisco Zoo, rode a cable car, The Cable Car Museum, saw all the beautiful lights of the buildings in San Francisco at night. In Monterey, I visited the Monterey Bay Aquarium, Cannery Row, Fisherman s Wharf, took a whale watching tour, drove on the 17-mile drive (heaven on earth), shopped at Del Monte Center, also drove down the PCH (Highway 1) to San Simeon for a tour of Hearst Castle. It was magnificent.

it was Reno,Nv fourth of July we had a blast

What is the weather like in Maine, particularly near the top? -

I would like to know the general weather in Maine, particularly towards the top in Aroostook county to be exact if that matters. I would like to know the general weather in each season, is it really hot in summer, really cold in winter...ect. Does it rain alot? Snow alot? Any other information you could give me would be great.

aroostook is known as the county --it s one of the most remote places in the country---the weather is pretty brutal--i live in maine and have only passed through there a couple times in my life---winters are very cold with quite a bit of snow---summers are hot and humid basically with quite a bit of rain from all the humidity

The northern part of Maine is very cold and they get a lot of snow. The only thing I can tell you is there are a lot of farms and they grow potatoes

Freezing omg were getting same in uk tomorrow am shivvering now love

Do a search on Bar Harbor, Maine. It is 37 degrees today.

winter ? i think i am right .

If I have to be in San Jose by 6am, when should i leave from SF? -

I have to be in San Jose (McKee Rd exit) by 6am tomorrow and i live in San Francisco. How s the traffic going to be?

I don t know what part of SF your starting from so Id say be on Hwy 101 south bound no later than 5am. I ts about 40 miles and you ll start hitting the early San Jose commute about 5:30 - 5:45. give yourself some more time if weather is bad. You can also take HWY 280 south, It will take you about 60-75 min at freeway speeds and you ll need to go north on 101 when reach San Jose, but McKee is about a 1/2 mile north from the 280 / 101 interchange. Either way, you should make Mckee just ahead of the crunch.

A lot of that will depend on where you are leaving from in SF.Once you are on the 101-- I would allow an hour. Most of the traffic will get heavy after 7. Leaving at 5 at about 70mph should be a good bet barring any unforseen things like rain or accidents. the traffic coming from that direction isn t as bad as the northbound traffic.

Just take the bus!! trust me.If driving then need to leave home at 5:00 to be safe

you should leave an hour early.

Gift for a teenage boy travelling to America? -

My 16 year old brother is going on a 2 week holiday to America, with a school group, after Christmas. We (his siblings) were hoping to get him something for his trip for Christmas, but don t know what to get. All we could think of was a digital camera, or money which has been exchanged to American currency, but we d like something a little more interesting. Any ideas? Thanks!

I think both are excellent gifts! Make sure the camera has tons of memory or an extra memory card.Maybe a nice diary he can keep notes (esp of the pictures) in if he s into that. Get him a few Cadbury bars to bring. Decent chocolate in the US can be hard to come by unless you re in big cities. (Hershey s really is unimpressive to say the least.) Really, any snack the he might like but not be able to easily find while here will be nice. He ll either love the fact that he has so something from home to eat OR he ll share with (or sell it to) the people he s with.I think the camera is the best idea though. And quite generous! Those things ain t cheap!I hope your brother has a wonderful trip! and I hope you and your family have a very Merry Christmas and a most excellent New Year!

The camera is a good idea. If you can afford it, a camcorder would be even better. The pictures and memories will last forever.

Biltmore question about price..? -

I am going to the biltmore house this weekend and its my first time..there is so much there that i want to do..but i want to know if the ticket i buy for the house counts for every event like trails you can go on. or do you have to pay extra for doing other things other than just going into the house..so is it just the one ticket for everything or just entering the house??

This website should answer all your questions. Just do more searching, and you ll easily find out the information you need.P.S. I went there about three or four years ago, and it is a very amazing place. Well worth the visit, and if you re a history geek (like me), you ll fall in love. :)

Which city would be better to live in, Phoenix or Vegas? -

Please add details.

I have lived in both about 10 years ago. If you are a smoker you ll love Vegas but I couldnt take all the smoke everywhere I went. Vegas has all kinds of people, mostly jobs in real estate, entertainment, gambling, golf businesses.Vegas tend to vote Democrat. Vegas is more transient. There is no scenery except boulders which look like cement in the background. It gets a lot of temporary visitors from all over. Vegas is much smaller than Phoenix. Both are very warm but Phoenix is hotter. Phoenix has 3 million people and is a big city with much, much more. They put emphasis on outdoor living and fitness, they dont smoke. The desert landscaping is great. Lots of apartments. Lots of social activity. Beautiful roads and scenery. Great college system. It is over 100 degrees at least 6 months of the year. Phoenix has a lot of high tech companies and more jobs.

Currently Phoenix. With the economy in the dump, the tourism industry has been hit hard and Vegas makes it s $$ from tourism.So..people are bailing out of Vegas, houses are left bank owned and empty. And re-sell for dirt cheap. That sounds good, right? For your wallet, yes.For your safety, no.Crime is rampant right now in Vegas, worse than it has been in decades!!I have a friend who moved down there not too long before the recession and they re wanting to get the hell outta there. We almost moved down there as well about a year or so ago..I m thanking my lucky stars I didn t now.

Phoenix. I love Arizona.

Do forget Las Vegas.

I would pick phoenix im thinking bout moving there

i would pick vegas but that s your thing not mine
