Me and husband are thinking of moving out of this busy California into Colorado Area...? -

We are wondering which city is all about FAMILY since we have a 5 year old, excellent schools, but yet still have access to fun things to do in Colorado?? I also need a place where the job market is good as well. And any helpful information you could tell me about Colorado would be nice too....

Colorado Springs is a great place to live-- there are some phenomenal schools here and it s big enough to have lots of job opportunities available in most industries. Home to Garden of the Gods, the US Olympic Training Center, the Broadmoor, Cave of the Winds, and the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo (found at the base of NORAD!) you will have to live here a very long time before running out of places to go and things to see. If you have any questions specifically I d be happy to answer them!

Colorado Springs, CO will BLOW YOU AWAY!!

I would suggest you visit the area that you are moving to first.

What time is the daylight gone by in March, in NYC? -

Could you please tell me what time approximately does the night start falling towards the end of March in New York? Many thanks indeed.

The end of march--that s right after daylight savings or whatever they call it. That one added hour makes a bigger difference in daylight than the entirety of the orbit-around-the-sun creates in a snails-pace that it does. It seems to go from day-by-day creeping up to a not-even-6-o clock-yet-and- it s-getting-dark 5:50 sunset to a just-right-almost-7 the next day. So around 6:50 PM, for what it s worth.

Can a Canadian drive their car across the US border, even if the car was never sold in the US? -

And can a United States citizen drive a car owned by a Canadian across the border into the US, even if the vehicle was never sold in the US?

Sure...Canadians and Americans drive their cars across the border all the time. does not matter in which country the car was purchased. If you are driving a car owned by another person, it is a good idea to carry a notarized letter of permission. Chances are they won t check your registration or ask about it, but have the letter just in case.

I think yes...

What is the lifestyle in LA like compared to San Francisco? -

I m thinking about taking a job in LA (Hollywood) next year but I don t know if I would be miserable living there. I love San Francisco so much but I do need to work lol. I m 25, vegetarian/semi-vegan, kind of the hipster type. I m not much on tanning and anorexia and celebrities that are famous for nothing.

Wow, lose the stereotypes. I mean, everyone s gay up in San Francisco, right? You can be yourself here in LA, it s pretty laid back. You do your thing and I ll do mine sort of thing. One of the main differences between LA and SF is the public transit and the weather. We only have two seasons down here: Summer (early, mid, and late), and the other one which most people call winter. But since it doesn t snow in LA, and hardly ever gets below 40, we re pretty spoiled. And public transit is pretty ineffective here because everything is so far apart, unlike San Francisco. It s decentralized. So jobs and industries aren t concentrated downtown. So people have to drive everywhere. There s a long standing feud between NorCal and SoCal, that goes back to the water wars of the early 1900 s. I grew up never knowing that I stole water from Northern California. Apparently, most Southern Californians are unaware of this as well. So if you move here from SF, nobody will hassle you. 99.9% of folks here are just regular folks paying the bills. We don t see celebrities, since they live in their own little world. Don t really care about them much, either. If you see one (and you can see one once every few years if you re lucky) they re rather unimpressive up close and personal. So come on down, if you have a job lined up. But if you don t, stay put. The job market here isn t any better than in SF.

i live in LA. it s great, a lot of night life and such... i think the main difference is the culture isn t so urban, but more hipster. perfect for you probably. not everyone is tan... in fact light skin has been popular lately. there is tons of vegetarian food and vegan restaurants, it s been the new thing. other differences- little to none fog, warmer in the winter, no snowi love la and sf. who knows, your future may lead you back to sf.

BOSTON, MA, things to do with people from FLORIDA? -

ok so one of my friends is coming up with like 5 of her girlfriends and they have never been to boston and im gonna meet them there. where can we go so i can make sure they have a great time? she said that they love to shop also. they are all 21+ALSOim plan on taking my friend on a..basically a date and i have NO clue where to take her at all. it can either be fancy or just something generally romantic and to make sure we have a good time. THANKS for any ideas. oh and i dont want to spend a TON of money on the date but im willing to pay for a dinner obviously but i dunno if she wants to go out to eat or what haha.the day that we are going this is like jan 8th so it will be kinda chilly probablyThanks.

Floridians coming to Boston in the winter, prepare for some real sh*tty weather. In fact it s snowing right now. Winter is always a sh*tty time to visit New England. Come back in the summer. I m dead serious, have your friends reschedule their trip. In fact, you should visit them instead to get away from crappy winter weather.Basicly your best bet is to stay indoors, it s too cold to go outside. Here are some suggestions for you:Museums, lots of Museums: The MFA (art) Isabella Stuart Gardner (art) ICA (art) The Aquarium, The Science Museum, Harvard and MIT museums, not to mention all the Historical sites; sites along the Freedom Trail, John Adams HouseCheck listings for concerts, plays and other eventsshopping, lots of shopping in Quincy Market, Newbury Street or Harvard Square in Cambridge, also visit the insanely overpriced Copley Place Mall

We just got back from NYC about 2 months ago and I m definitely going back! Actually this would be a great place to go alone, so much to see,, We were there for 3 days, but I think 5 days should be enough. Get the 3+ day NewYorkPass, it will save you a lot of money! http://www.newyorkpass.com/Also, buy your NYC T-shirt ( 5 for 10.99) at Times SQ.Around Empire State building, they have a lot of cheap NYc sounviers. Hotel wise, book early. We stayed in Chinatown (Hotel 91) but it s clean and fairly cheap- though you can heard the subway at night, it didn;t bother us. Becareful of big and cheap hotel, I heard it s not clean,, The last thing you want is to bring home some bed bugs.Broadway Show: If Wicked was too expensive ( it was for us), so we went to see Fuerza Bruta , we got a coupon online and pay half price =) so check online! .. Let put it this way, we will never forget this show.. we had a blast!http://www.broadwaybox.com/ ? for cheap shows!

MoMA, Metropolitan, Broadway Show, Knicks or Rangers game.

Hang out in Washington Square Park, and watch all the weirdos.

Do you think this is why I got the New York/North NJ accent?????????? -

Well people say I have a New York/New Jersey accent. I live in Vermont though. My grandfather was born and raised in Brooklyn and has a heavy accent. I also have lots of family in the north NJ area who have somewhat of the accent. I spend a fairly good amount of time there in the summers, and I am around my grandfather who has the accent a lot. Could I have picked it up from that you think? Or what s the deal?

Well, it only takes about 30 days to create a habit (verbal habit, i mean) so an extended stay with them could create a slight accent. I have a similar thing. I m from NW Indiana and got a bit of a Chicago/Southern accent because my dad has a thick Chicago accent and my mother has a soft southern accent

What are the most extreme ATV tours in las vegas? -

Where would you live if you went to the university of Pennsylvania? -

I cant live on the campus because I want to live with someone that wont be going to the university. Tell me a safe neighborhood, white friendly, where I can get a safe bus to the university...

Like the Penn Student told you, University City has great places for students to live. And the City and University Police do a good job of keeping people safe there. Just don t stray too far from University City . The nearby neighborhood known as the bottom around 40 Lancaster, is one of the most dangerous in the city (16th Police District). But, on the whole Philadelphia is as safe as any other big city. If you don t deal drugs or hang out with thugs, you will be fine there. Philadelphia has great public transportation.

I attend the University of Pennsylvania which is between 34th 36th of spruce and market streets. It s called University City and they have many apartments and condos in the area. I commute since I live in the city and public transportation is very easy. University City is surrounded by west philly which isnt the greatest section of philadelphia but the area in which the school is in- is very nice. There s people around all the time and its a really nice play to live and be around.

There s plenty of good choices around University City (Penn, Drexel, Univ of Sciences). There are also some good choices in South Philadelphia. If you are near Broad Street, the subway line is VERY convenient to Penn. I did my Master s there and I live in South Philly. You get a LOT more for your money in the South Philly neighborhoods. For example, Passyunk Square is 1 mile to downtown, 3 miles to Penn. The area has a supermarket, cafes, bars, restaurants, parks, shops, etc.

well UofP is in west philly, so it s kind of hard to find an area around there where you could find a safe neighborhood and get a safe bus (there aren t any in philly)..i think your best bet would be to look in philadelphia suburbs, like delaware county..http://www.apartments.com/Pennsylvania/Pbest of luck to you!

South philly would be my #1 choice. Rent isnt too high and everything is really close. Being near a bus or subway makes it that much better. Plus, there are a ton of different people down there if you like variety. It can look kind of crappy and in some places it is. But ive lived there and havent found nicer neighbors or strangers anywhere else in philly..

Stay where u are and learn to love

What are some affordable cities on the east coast to raise a family that you would recommend? -

looking at Western Massachussetts, Albany, Wilmington (Delaware) any others??

i don t recommend any families. sorry.

Atlanta, GA and surrounding cities. We moved here from NJ 6yrs ago and found it to be very reasonable and conducive to raising respectable children.
