Where can we stay at? -

I m 18 years old, my 2 friends are 17. We are looking to take a road trip down to Ft Lauderdale Florida. We were looking at places to stay at, we found a Youth Hostel but it requires all of us to be 18. Also, hotels you have to be 21 years of age. So we were wondering what could be a good place to stay at that isn t expensive. We re just looking for a place to take a shower and sleep at. We are planning on staying there from 12/27/09 - 1/02/10 Thanks.

Most hotels or motels allow you to check in without proving your age, but you may need a credit card.As a general rule most hostels allow teenagers. Youth hosteling web site says: Do Age limits exist? Youth Hostels are open to everyone. However age limits may apply for children in some places - check with the Hostel. Young people may be given priority when the hostel is nearly full. So try some of the other youth hostels around there. There are not many around but there are quite a few low cost hotels that take most walkups. Are you coming by car or do you need to stay within waking or biking distance of the beach ? My suggestions will also depend on your sex and vulnerability, but if you are confident you can figure out the safe people from the creepy ones try googleing couchsurfing.com or globalfreeloaders and you can stay for free.

Not all hotels require you to be 21. You should check around the area for hotels/motels because there are alot that only require you to be 18.

How do i get there by Public transport ? -

I need directions to 36th Street Studio 260 W 36th Street (btwn 7th 8th Ave) 3rd Floor New York, NY 10018 from my house in Sadore Lane, Yonkers NY 10710. What train/ bus or both can i take ?.......... Thank You for all the helpful responses!

Get to Central Park Ave and take the #20 or #21 bus South to the Woodlawn station where you can get the #4 train. Take that to 149th street and the Grand Concourse where you will transfer to the #2 southbaond. Take that to penn Station which will leave you at #4th Street and Seventh Ave, a five minute walk from there. I don t know about bus service in Westchester, but I would allow an hour for the Subway and walk.

There are three options. If you have Unlimited MetroCard, or buy at store.Cheapest: Fare is $2.25, same fare as NYC Subways and buses. At Central Park/Sadore Lane, you could get on Bee-Line #20 local or PM Rush Hour #21 Limited-Stops to Woodlawn Station.Transfer to Brooklyn-bound (4) to 149th St-Grand Concourse.Transfer to Brooklyn-bound (2) to 34th St-Penn Station.Next option: At same time, $5.50 BxM4C express drop you off at 5th Av 36th St, and you could walk two blocks west to 7th Av. For BxM4C, 1-Day, 7-Day or 30-Day Pass is not accepted, but must be paid in coins, Pay-Per-Ride MetroCard or 7-Day Express Bus Plus which cost $5.Quickest Option:Step 1: Take Bee-line #8 Tuckahoe to Tuckahoe Station (last stop)..Step 2:Before you get on Metro-North Railroad, buy ticket before you board because ONBOARD FARE IS HIGHER.Fare is $8.50 peak or off-Peak $6.50 to Grand Central. At Grand Central, take 42nd St (S) or Times Sq-bound (7) train to Times Sq.Then, transfer to downtown (1)(2)(3) one stop to 34th St-Penn Station.

The address in question is located on 36th Street between 7th and 8th Avenue.Take Metro-North s Hudson Line from Yonkers to Grand Central.Once at Grand Central, enter the subway and take the 42nd Street Shuttle (Black Line on the subway map) from Grand Central to Times Square. At Times Square, transfer to the downtown (southbound) #1, 2, or 3 train (Red Line) from Time Square to Penn Station.Once at Penn Station, exit the subway and follow the direction at the link below.http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d source=sGood luckNative New Yorker

1) Take the Harlem line at the Tuckahoe station at Lake ave.2) Get off at the Grand Central Station.3) Take the S train from there.4) Get off at Times Square- 42nd st station.5) Walk to destination by going on 7th Ave for .3 miles and then turn on W 36th st.

What time should i leave to beat the traffic from boston to Maine? -

The worst of the traffic will be in the immediate vicinity of Boston. Frankly, there s no way to avoid that entirely other than leaving in the middle of the night. The worst case would be to be leaving Boston during the evening rush hour because traffic will be peaking AND moving in the same direction you will be going. So if the rush hour is 4pm to 6pm, any time outside that window will be reasonable.

It constantly amazes me how many Answers out hear do not read questions closely and therefore give screw-up answers, as did the 2 Answerers before me here.OK, to beat the (presumably weekday rush hour) traffic from Boston to Maine (and not vice-versa, as the previous Answerers responded to) you should leave Boston by 4pm, maybe even 3:45, or after 6:30 pm.

i left boston l one summer night at 10pm...i had the whole highway to myselfabout 90% of the time......buy cupS of coffee before you leave, everything seems closed

The earlier the better, I would leave at about 400 am

honestly prob 4-5am u will be good trust me

Is it cheaper to live in Atlanta and fly back amp; forth to New York vs living in New York? -

Im a young adult from South Florida and moved to New York. I m back in Florida for the holidays and considering moving to Atlanta for half the year or more. Im thinking since in New York, I went for business ventures and networking that maybe it would be cheaper to fly back and forth from Atlanta as a central living location to New York once every other month for a week or 2. When in new york I had roommates to cut the cost and hated (so its out of the question) the experience in addition to the quality of living (digusting look) in comparison to cost.I need to travel around often to pursue my music career by doing shows but cant afford to live in New York permanetly to do this without a full time job to pay for the better living which cause a conflict since my goal in new york isnt to become domesticated there but to build my career. So this is why Im considering making my location in Atlanta for a piece of mind, more bang for my buck in living and the flexibility to still travel by flying back and forth every month in a half for a week or two.Any advice?

Yeah, I think that would be more cost-effective for you and would make you happier in general. However, it would be even cheaper to live in New York (not NYC) or a surrounding state and just take a train into the city.

Has anyone toured New York City with the New York pass? -

Hi all, I m going to be touring New York City next yr in the summer, and was just resarching where I d like to go and what I d like to see, when I came across this New York pass offer, and I have to tell you it looks like the best way to go. You can also combine it with Hop on/hop off bus offers, so I m definitely interested in doing New York with this pass, but first I just wanted to know if anyone has done the same thing and seen New York with this pass?

I m sure the pass is good. Many use it but sometimes its just easier going direct with the hop on hop off buses...These 2 are the best companies..http://www.citysightsny.com/http://www.newyorksightseeing.com/

I used it, most of the stuff that I wanted to see was included. Any place that does a tour usually requires a 24 hour advanced reservation like the tour of Rockefeller center and the Studio tour. I didn t get a chance to see all the attractions but for what I did it turned out to be a value. Of course that was a couple of years ago so I don t know if they have added or dropped any attractions.

no

I have look on this site for what it was likehttp://www.ramseyweather.bravehost.com

Where is a good place to view the stars in orange county? -

I dont want to travel for more than a half hour to 45 min. and please dont just answer any hill or desert or big bear, im looking for specifics pretty please that are kinda close.

We can t seem to get it through to people that there is no good place to view the stars in the area. Too much light pollution from LA and OC. I did have a place in mind up on Ortega Highway, called Ortega Oaks campground. But you can t get there right now, since there s a huge wildfire burining up there. It makes for rather poor viewing, with all the smoke, planes, and helicopters. Besides, the road is closed. Why not just go up to Santiago Canyon or Modjeska?

You just have to be away from lights. So even a parking lot in a commercial area without lights will work just fine.

Florida classic battle of the bands 2009...? -

If you went 2 the florida classic botb how did all the high school bands do? who was the best high school band iin attendence??? Who was crowds favorite? Who sounded the best? Who were the winners or how did they rank the bands? Who was the first high school band to perform? And who was the last high school band to perform? Plz try 2 answer all parts 2 the best of ur ability!

I was lucky enough to get tickets at the last minute. I don t know if you know but tix sell out every year to this thing (the best seats are bought in July). We had great seats, the bands (section 104) were facing us. In all, there had to be about 10 HS bands, the event went from 7pm to about 10:45 including awesome performances by the BCU and FAMU bands. We thought there would be a winner, but all they did at the end of the HS performances was line the drum majors/directors out and hand out a bunch of plaques. I tried to figure out if this is a battle, then who s the winner? Anyways they had bands from Lousiana, Alabama, Georgia (quite a few), South Carolina, and Florida. They all had their good points...two of the larger ones had great formation. I d have to say that only two had polished looking dancers. A couple of standouts were this band from GA (Jaguars), they had great sound but they looked very well funded. Another band from S. FL (green and black) played a great MJ tune. Selections that were popular...Michael Jackson s Torture (MJ was being played a lot), Beyonce Sweet Dream (?), BlackDada Ima Zoe , Young Jeezy. The locals played last (Jones and Evans). It was a great experience and of course the end was phenomenal...BCU s drumline came out and rocked it. Then the whole band came out and played. FAMU then came out and played some great concert pieces and showed that great precision. Hope that helps.

Looking to go down to arlington texas for a cowboys game around new years, have any great bars i should go to? -

Looking to go down to arlington texas for a cowboys game around new years, have any great bars i should go to? looking for a awesome young crowd bar for new years party. and even bars in general to go to when i go down.

The game around New Year s is actually 2 days later on the 3rd. They are in Washington the week before that. There will be plenty of concerts on New Year s Eve. Every type of music so you should have no trouble finding something to do either in Arlington or over in Dallas or Fort Worth.
