Anything good in new york city? -

my friends and i are heading to the city with my grandma. only thing is, we have NO idea what to do. were still in high school and we don t wanna spend to much money. we already decided on ice skating. but we need more and we don t just wanna walk around all day. any ideas?

Times Square = many many shops. I ve lived here all my life and have yet to check the entire area out.Central Park = beautiful, there are musicians that play there and horse rides and lots of space to chill around and play sports.China Town = very ethnic and very very fun to visit. There s a bunch of cheap shops and interesting things to look at.Thats all I got.

You should go to M M s World in Time Square. It s pretty neat. I went there a couple years ago. I think it has like 3 floors of M M stuff. Plus, they have these life size M M statues. Just go in and see if you like it.

Check out this link, they just opened this place and it s pretty cool.

Go to Toys and Us in Timed Square. Also go to Central Park. Good luck!

go see a good movie

Staten Island -- Visit or miss it? -

I ve heard that Staten I gets a lot of flack for being the most undesirable borough in the city; but why? Please convince me to visit or miss it.

Skip it!The Staten Island Ferry is a New York City must-see, but when you get to the Staten Island side, turn right around and get on the next ferry back to Manhattan! Why? Because, unlike Manhattan and the other boroughs, Staten Island looks exactly like where you live now... suburbs, strip malls, highways, you know, America. So, why come all the way to New York City to waste a day looking at a borough that looks exactly like where you live? It just doesn t make any sense at all!And do take note of the fact that, in his answer, Yankeesman doesn t cite one single reason WHY you should visit Staten Island- he just says you should go, but he can t name a single reason why! That s because there aren t any!!Good luck, and the link below is to a webpage titled StatenIslandSucks.com ...

Definitely miss it - it s not worth wasting any time there when there are so many interesting places in New York. Staten Island is a junky suburb that for some reason is within the city limits. Its population has a reputation for being stupid and racist, and it s not undeserved. It s one of the worst suburbs of New York, with fairly high crime, long commutes, mostly bad schools, and tiny houses. There s absolutely nothing there to interest a visitor. And it has the world s largest garbage dump, which you can smell from a lot of the island.

You should def. visit it.The reason give flack to Staten Island is because of their ignorance. Some people think Staten Island doesn t belong in NYC because its very suburban and is very close to New Jersey. Plus, others have all of these stupid stereotypes about the people that live on Staten Island.I say you really should visit Staten Island. If you have never been there before, go visit it! To me, unless you really visit all 5 boroughs of NYC, then you have never been to NYC.If you don t have a car, take the ferry there, and then go around on public transportation. There are bus lines, along with the SIRR, and the Staten Island Rail Road runs along the Eastern portion of Staten Island. And here is my response to that moron Drewluke:Well, remember, even though Staten Island is Suburban, it is NOT like the rest of America. I ve been in suburban areas in over 10 states and they are nothing like Staten Island is.If you are interested, there are some cool farms and historical places in Staten Island, and Staten Island gives you a glimpse of what the rest of the boroughs used to be like. Before consolidation occured and all that, all the boroughs were full of farmland, houses, etc, just like Staten Island is now. So, going to Staten Island is like a portal to see what New York City was like before consolidation and all that occured.See Drewluke, anytime you open your damn mouth, I ll fire back at you, so do me a favor and go suck a lemon and have fun living in moronland.

Because it feels like the suburbs - not like a part of NYC! It s well worth taking the Staten Island ferry, just for the view. And, if you really have the time, the gardens and artists studios at Snug Harbor is worth a visit, but it s a real schlep from Manhattan! But other than that, Staten Island is just not that interesting!

I would say, if you have family or friends there...visit it! If not, don t. After reading these reviews, I m glad I didn t use my limited time to see it. But for the usually landlocked it is an experience to go out to an island. I simply prefer Liberty and Ellis!

Skip it unless you re desperate for an accessible beach.

Which of the following US states has the best place to live in.? -

MaineMichigan (with exception of Detroit)New HampshireVermont Wisconsin (with exception of Milwaukee)I want somewhere that is family friendly, reasonably priced and has good employment opportunities. (I need a good paying job)

My vote would be Maine. Michigan at this time would be the worst, with the car companies in trouble and shutting down plants it would be financial suicide to move there right now. Maine has a nice laid back feeling to it, Wisconsin may have more job opportunities though, but making good money is not what brings happiness in life. Being able to enjoy life should not revolve on how much your pay check is, it should be around how much you can enjoy what is free to enjoy, a bird singing near your window in the morning, the cool mist of a morning fog, or being able to take a stroll in the middle of no where with no worries, that is what makes life enjoyable, not your pay check.

None of them. They are all cold. Trust me I live in a cold climate and it SUCKS! Big time. And those places are even colder than my home. Stay in nice sunny Australia. Or if you do come to the USA, I recommend Arizona (I m going there the first chance I get!) Florida is also nice

I would say Maine because that s where I m from, and its soo nice and the people are VERY kind and helpful. There is almost always good jobs, but anywhere in New England is good, accept Connecticut

All of these have good places to live and they all have awful job markets. Every place in the USA has a bad job market with few jobs. Washington DC and Texas are the least crummy places to try to find work.

Job opportunities are tough nation wide - greater than 10% unemployment. All 5 would be good places to live but if employment is an issue it will be tough.

Realistically how much would it cost to drive from coast to coast of the United States? -

I want to visit all the 50 states and I have no idea how much it would cost. I would have to get a cheap motels because I only have realitives in a few states.

2000 coast to coast, but all the states you cant drive to hawaii, so i would say at least 6000, also a lot cheaper if your good without a hotel, you can sleep in rest areas, buy a small stove and instead of restaurants by soap cans etc.seriously just have fun, money is also possible in towns where you can quick carpentry, or painting, house sitting jobs etc.

Your question is confusing. You can t visit all 50 states by car.Hawaii is a big problem. You re looking at thousands of dollars if you want to drive through all mainland states. I suggest you look at a map. It s going to take weeks( months ? ) to do.

What type of home construction is best suited for the climate of Denver, Co? -

I need to no what home construction is best suited for Denver for a school project. Please help me out! Thankss

What are the choices? Most homes built in the area are stick construction, meaning wood framing. Using brick facing is common too, however that is for decoration and ease of maintenance primarily.Because the climate is so dry, you don t really have a problem with rot.

Brick or double wall frame with good insulation.
