Wheres a fun place to take my dog around the Los Angeles, CA Area? -

me and my boyfriend want to go on an adventure tomorrow with our dogsis there any fun places to go?we d like to go where there s snow or a lake or a forestwhat do you recommend?for the snow, what s the closest mountain to go to that has snow right now where we can take our dogs??If there s anywhere fun where you go venture with your dogs around the LA areamaybe hiking or something, or lake, or close little park forest place let me know where its at i don t knowgive me some suggestions!

In Long Beach, there is a Dog Beach which is one mile long and dogs can play in the water and stuff. http://www.hautedogs.org/beach.htmlThere is also a great dog park in Redondo Beach on 190th St. east of PCH. It s closed on Wednesdays. You can take the dog up to Big Bear. You can also take dogs hiking at Runyon Canyon in the Hollywood Hills.

Wow, how long have you been here? There aren t any park forest places anywhere in LA. In case you hadn t noticed, LA is a desert. To have a forest, you need lots of trees, which require a considerable amount of rain. So no rain, no forests. If you drive up to Lake Arrowhead or Big Bear, you ll find some snow. Angeles Crest Highway is usually the closest area, but they had some landslides up there, and a lot of people who went up to see the snow were lucky to get out alive. I hear that their cars are still up there.Take the dogs up to Big Bear Lake. There is still snow up there.http://www.bigbear.com/childdogfriendly/

How does going from the Port Authority bus terminal in NYC to the Time Square station work? -

I m not sure about the best way to put it but if I take the A,C or E train to port authority and want to get to time square how do I get to time square from Port Authority? Is there like a passage way that you walk to get to Time square and if so how long is the walk from Port Authority to Time Square cause on the map it looks like quite a distance or is there like a bus that goes there. I was looking at the subway map and I need to take the trains at Time Square to get home.

the map is not to proportion. google port authority . click maps and see how far it is from times square. It s only a block underground andyou never leave the subway. it might be far if you have a couple of bags. No you dont pay another 225My mistake before. I thought you said you were getting off a bus at the terminal.

Well, it s a short walk that s . . . well, full of people whether you stay underground, or go above ground where there are more people, and cars. Okay. Port Authority is located on 8th avenue between 39th and 42nd Street. Times Square . . . well, I guess you could take the 1the M42, but it s not worth the $2.25 it costs these days. Especially for such a short walk.Get out of the Port Authority, walk across 42nd streeet until you get to Broadway. Bam. You re in Times square.

It s connected through passegeway in fare control. It is same distance as above ground. It is not frustrated passegeway if you are going from 42nd St-Port Authority Bus Terminal Station to Times Sq, but going reverse will be frustrated because of small slope.Port Authority Bus Terminal is on 8th Av side while Times Sq is on 7th Av-Broadway side.

Go on to the street at 42 and 8th ave and walk one whole block east to 7th ave and 42 nd street. Stand there and turn around 360 degrees look up down and all around. You will be in the heart of Times Square

In fare control connecting tunnel under 41st.

why would some one go to the trouble of writing no clue Just walk down 42nd street like the first guy said

What is the current traffic situation on I-15 in Las Vegas? -

I will be traveling to Utah from LA between 12/21 and 12/20 (2009). It seems that there is always road construction along I-15 in Las Vegas causing a 1-2 hour delay in my drive time. Can anyone advise me on the current situation? Is it any better than last year when it took me 2 hours to go from Craig Rd to Russell Rd?

smooth sailing now it is better

I15 is still under construction and worse during rush hour.

Cover for clubs at Vegas..........? -

If you are a guest at a hotel, can you get into the club for free if you are a guest at the hotel where the club is?

Sorry...the other answers are WRONG. You do NOT get free cover for the nightclubs just from staying at a hotel. They DO, most of the time...not always, let you in through the VIP entrance so you don t wait in line quite as long. That s all...and not all clubs doormen honor the hotel guest thing at all.Nearly all the clubs in Vegas, Pure included, are owned by other companies and are NOT owned by the hotel/casino. They have discretion to do as they wish...including dress code, vip entry, etc.PURE is part of The Light Group which has a few nightclubs inside different hotel/casinos. The owners are good people, in general, but the policies are the same at all of their clubs.VIP entry at best...but you WILL pay the cover charge!~(almost definitely every night of the week, but maybe an exception on a slow night...or if the hotel has a special package that stated it includes the cover charge!).Also, be careful of the hoaxs that sell VIP entry cards on the strip etc. The cards are issued for FREE everywhere...and are only good for GIRLS and usually then on certain nights and at the discretion of the door hosts...nothing different than walking up to the door without it!!!

Thanks...I was just wondering because when I stayed at the Venetian I got in to Lavo and Tao without a cover. I was just wondering if they did the same for certain clubs...thanks though. Report Abuse

Yes you can but you have to check with the hotel. Sometimes it can be part of a package deal if you book your room online.http://www.lasvegas-how-to.com/las-vegas

Most yes but not on holidays

How much is rent in New York City? -

I am considering applying to Bank Street College for grad school and am trying to figure out how much rent would be while attending. I believe Bank Street is located in the Morningside Heights section of Manhattan. I would prefer somewhere very close to public transportation and somewhere that is no more than a half hour commute from the school. A small studio is fine as long as it is not too dangerous or dirty. I am not familiar with the neighborhoods of New York so I wasn t even sure where to start looking. Thanks for your help!

try craigslist for a good deal, if you really want to save money check out the shared apts section if you don t mind being someones roommate you can really save money, otherwise if you want your own place a studio will start at around $600 a month a bills included, but don t expect much in terms of a pleasant place. Morningside Heights is a fairly save neighborhood, just be care full and don t go down shady looking streets alone at night.

Do you know any great places to visit / things to do in vegas city, off the strip? -

i know a few shopping malls, was hoping for other suggestions. we are hiring a car for 2 days - spending one out of vegas , and want to explore vegas off the strip the other day. get to know the actual city / suburbs.

Drive west on Charleston (Sahara Hotel), about 10 miles from StripRed Rock Resort (fantastic buffet, movie theatre, bowling, casino) Join the players club and you get at least $3 in free/matching money on slotsRed Rock Canyon loop and visitor center Bonnie Springs RanchBonnie Springs Old NevadaDrive west on Charleston to Arville and take a right (north)Las Vegas Springs Preserve Fremont Street Experience

If you want to stay in the city, and suburbs, there are a few things to see:Freemont Street, in downtown Vegas. It has been converted into a pedestrian mall with a 90-foot high (30-meter) canopy providing shade from the hot desert sun.The Gardens At The Las Vegas Springs PreserveThis garden was earlier called the Desert Demonstration Gardens as 8 acres are desert botanical gardens. The entry is free of cost here. These gardens contain over 300 species of desert-compatible plants.Red Rocks National ParkThis national park is located 15 miles west of downtown.

There isn t much suburban Las Vegas, it s mostly urban (apartment complexes, strip malls, restaurants, gas stations) and then barren desert. For me the three most interesting cruises are 1. West on Charleston to visit the Red Rock casino and then Red Rock Canyon... here s a photo I shot of the canyon from an airplane http://www.urbanphotos.net/images/las_ve2. East on Fremont to see all the cheap dive motels and crackheads. http://www.urbanphotos.net/images/vegas_3. South on Las Vegas Blvd. until it turns into a dirt trail ... here are two photos I shot out there http://www.urbanphotos.net/end_of_Las_Ve

Town Square is pretty nice. it s right next to the airport. If you really want to get to know the city you re best bet is to explore Henderson and Green Valley. There s not much here in just Las Vegas besides the strip. You ll learn that most locals don t just stay only in LV. My family and I live right on the edge of LV and any kind of entertainment we look for is in Henderson.

go look at mansions in summerlin! or toilet paper wayne newtons house.right on the corner of sunset and pecos. or you can come hang out with me and my friends and go to the executive airport and watch celebrities

If you like the desert at all, I recommend Red Rock Canyon. Always take water when you hike, leave your travel plans with someone, etc., for safety s sake.

Is there any place for skiing now not too far from NYC? -

yes

you re question asked if there is anywhere NOW--the answer is no--there has not been any real snowfall yet nor has it been cold enough to make enough fake snow to open a resort--it s been unseasonably warm the last few eeeks in the northeast so you ll have to wait at least until decemberBUT Hunter Mountain is the closest big resort to nyc--about a 2 hour drive or you can make a weekend trip to vermont (those reosrts arent close enough for day trips)

Mountain Creek, Vernon Valley, Vernon, NJ.Depending on traffic, about 1 1/2 hrs. out of NYC.

vermont
