Going to Vegas for New Years? -

is there any cool shows that are inexpensive?

Not on NYE. All the prices from food, drink to shows at least double. The best free show is outside watching the fireworks from the top of several hotels, fountains at Bellagio, volcano at Mirage

There are lots of cool inexpensive shows in Vegas this New Year. You should wait till you get to Vegas and get your ticket from one of the half price booths on the Strip. Here is more information:http://www.lasvegas-how-to.com/discount_

All the really good shows are going to cost you money. The inexpensive ones are the afternoon matinee korny variety/comedy shows.

There are NO MORE cool shows in Vegas! Ours was the only good one!

Inexpensive cool shows! Heck a movie is $10 and popcorn not much cheaper.

RV and solitude where can I find it? -

I am looking for a place that my wife and I can take an RV and a trailer of supplies and be isolated for three to four months. does anyone have any ideas I looked at some public land out west but they required you move locations every week or so. We just love solitude and thought it would be great to get away and read and just enjoy life any idea appreciated

As far as I know, all federal lands require either a long-term lease (10 or 20 years) or that you move at least every 14 days.As a practical matter, there are plenty of federal lands for which 14-day limit rules are in force, but there s no way anyone would consider enforcing them. I m thinking BLM lands in the high desert of Oregon, Nevada, Idaho.

Short Trip to Sanfransisco from wichita KS? -

If i want to go to san fransisco CA from wichita KS, how much would the expenses be?i know i need money for the plane ticket, rental car, food, gas, hotel, and entertainment.but i have no idea how much i need for each. other than the ticket, how much money would i need to bring for each of those categories if i stay a week?

there are quite a few sites that you can search that will likely give you the best prices available. check out the website BookMe and you will be able to compare prices on all the reputable travel sites in just a couple minutes. it s very convenient and will save you a bunch of time and money. Also, make sure you buy them online... otherwise they charge much higher fees for phone orders. good luck.

Are there any mountains two hours (about) west from Portland, Oregon? -

I was just wondering if there were any mountains two hours or so west of Portland, Oregon. Yes, if you were to look at an Oregon map, just head west. Are there? How far do they reach out from? Do they have wildlife and many trees and nature stuff on them? If they do have wildlife...what kind of predators do they contain? Or at least what kind of animals?

There is Tillamook State Forest!http://www.oregon.gov/ODF/TSF/tsf.shtmlThe website should answer most of your questions! :)

Two hours west of Portlandby autowould be in the Pacific Ocean. That is, unless traffic were really, really slow.About one hour west of Portland is the Oregon Coast Range, a mountain range that runs north and south along the entire Oregon coast. It varies in width (east-west) from 20 to 30 miles or so. In most places it goes right up to the ocean s edge. However the larger coastal cities are areas where there is a gap between the ocean and the coast range. The widest are near Astoria and Tillamook with 4 to 10 miles of flat-lands.The second highest point on the northern coast range is Saddle Mountain, which has a hiking trail and is contained in a state park conveniently close to US Hwy 26. Saddle Mountain is 3,465 feet high. The highest peak is Rogers Peak, which I know nothing else about besides it is 3,706 feet high. Most of the range is forestedit contains two state forests. Trees include Sitka spruce, western redcedar, Douglas-fir, and western hemlock. There are abundant wood areas which include a variety of hardwoods including alder, cottonwood, maple, birch, and many others. The wildlife includes weevils, chipmunks, bears, rabbits, white-footed deer mice, Columbian Black tail deer, and others.

No, no there is not.

Taking alcohol from Europe to USA? -

Repost...I am a US citizen and have been studying overseas for 3 months. For a gift, I want to take 2 small bottles of alcohol (only sold in this spot) back to my family in the USA. If I secure the alcohol safely in my checked baggage, will I have any problems getting it there? I am 19 by the way. Also, seeing as this is my first international trip, what is customs like when arriving back and the US?Thanks!I am in Europe, so the drinking age is not 21, and I said checked baggage, NOT carry on.

Legally, you can t bring more than 1 liter of alcohol even if you are over 21. Definitely do not declare anything on your Customs Declaration form. If you mention that you have a sandwich or some kind of food on you, they may send your luggage through x-ray machines. Then you re screwed. If you fly via Detroit they will search your luggage almost certainly. Same applies to smaller airports with lower number of international flights (e.g. Cincinnati). Customs officials there don t have much to do. In that case, I wouldn t risk it.I ve flown many, many times from EU to USA via major airports: JFK, Newark, Philadelphia, Chicago, Atlanta, Washington. I always carried 1-3 bottles of some alcohol. Nobody ever searched mu luggage. Maybe I just don t look suspicious. :)Don t declare anything on your customs declaration (maybe something symbolic like $50 worth of gifts). Just look confident. The worst thing that can happen to you is that they ll take your alcohol. After all, you are first time traveler you don t know what you re doing . :)Good luck, and enjoy your trip!

2 summers ago i made a trip to canada and europe. i bought a bottle of absinthe in prague to bring back to the states. i had a connection in vancouver canada which was the last leg of my trip. i was taken to a special room for random searching where they went through my bag 3 times, scanned my clothes for potential drug trafficking, and spent about 3 hours asking me questions about my travels. i had been traveling for 3 months so maybe they were a little suspious.i was 19 at the time. yet they did not ask me anything regarding the bottle of 70% alcohol i was bringing back to the states underage.so you should be fine if you have it in your suit case.
