Where is the best place to sit for the Trans-Siberian Orchestra? -

I wanted to get some opinions before I secure tickets to the Trans-siberian orchestra. Is it better to sit on the floor, lower level, or upper level. How is the view from the side? Any other details welcome. I ve never seen the TSO so any all help is appreciated!

There s not a bad seat to be had in that concert. It ll be awesome wherever you sit. I prefer the upper bowl because I think the acoustics are better. You can hear everything better, but at a less harsh volume than the lower bowl. I ve sat on the side, just down from the stage and I ve also sat directly opposite the stage on the other end of the arena. Both are excellent seats. There s so much going on that you ll be able to see everything, no matter where you are. If you sit really close to the stage, you can feel the pyrotechnics a bit warmer than the other end of the arena. But you won t lose an eyebrow or anything. Have fun, it s a great show!!

Honestly sit anywhere for the right price. It s all about the music my friend. there are quite a few sites that you can search that will likely give you the best prices available. check out the website BookMe and you will be able to compare prices on all the reputable ticket sites in just a couple minutes. it s very convenient and will save you a bunch of time and money. Also, make sure you buy them online... otherwise they charge much higher fees for phone orders. good luck.

well, last year i was in the first row. it s cool to be close, but you can t really see the lights all that well. i enjoyed sitting a little higher up for the lights, but if you can i recomend floor seats!

Nose bleeds if you value your hearing :) (that means high up) but near the front of the upper section so you can see the show, they put on an awesome performance.

Considering their music, I d say the best seat is in a completely different building...

Can someone give me ideas for a field trip for my Spanish class in NYC? -

I m a sophomore in high school and we don t have any field trips, and wanted to find out something my spanish class can go to as a field trip. Like some event coming up relating to Mexico, Spain, etc. I m thinking of like a parade or I dont know.. something of the like. Maybe some place that has a lot of Spanish stuff? like restaurant, or a place that shows spanish dancing? or museum? whatever you think would be a great idea for a field trip for a bunch of 15-16 year olds that can be approved by my school to let us do haha. thanks alot! 3

Check out El Museo del Barrio in Manhattan. (www.elmuseo.org) Or maybe see if you can get tickets to see In the Heights on Broadway. Parts are in Spanish and it does discuss Cuban, Dominican, and Puerto Rican culture. There is the Thalia Spanish Theatre in Sunnyside, Queens. (www.queensnewyork.com/cultural/thalia)Or check out the Nuyorican Poets Cafe in the East Village. (www.nuyorican.org) They have poetry slams, latin jazz nights, and plays by local writers. (Right now there s a reading scheduled for Dec. 21 by a host of Latino writers, and a comedy show advertised as trilingual .) Just call to make sure that teens would be allowed in before you go, since after a certain time it doubles as a bar. For restaurants, check out Havana Central in Times Square or Son Cubanos in the meat packing district. Both have delicious cuban food and live music (salsa, merengue, etc.).

What city in the united states has the lowest crime rate? -

I m looking for a place to live with my family that is safe an is a great environment to raise kids?

I lived in Miami for many years and wanted to move after getting married to escape the crime and toppling housing market (which is happening a lot of places but really badly there)I ended up in Pittsburgh, PA area. About 40 minutes north of the city. great place, decent amount of things to do and really no crime. The cost of living is pretty low and the people are great! very friendly and the love their sports here! My wife and I were also able to buy a home, and through research found out Pittsburgh is one of the safest markets in which to buy right now. The home values haven t really risen but haven t dropped while every other area has. It s one of the last places left where it might be safe to make a real estate investment. Check out the burgh

since crime rate is really vague term you need to specify what type of crime here are some statistics: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Statjust press right sort button to sort tabel on top of it , for example if you press motor vehicle theft the biggest number is being shown on Oakland California

north dakota has the lowest rate of crime per 100,000 people. less than 100 criminal acts in 2004 for the entire state.

safe environment huh? hmmm... the safest are Compton CA, Camden NJ, the Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens NY, Philly PA, and Detroit.

The Major US city with the lowest crime rate, both violent and nonviolent is New York City

Fayette, MI. It s a ghost town, and has been without crime since about 1915.

Somewhere south of san francisco - down to and including san jose, ca

What can I do to not spend so much money when I leave town on a weekend get a way trip. In the past I? -

end up spending $700.00 - 1,000.00 for a weekend party I live it up ! But even thought I have fun I m looking for ways to not spend so much money all that money is spent is on myself, entertainment living like a king, partying like there is no tomorrow.

Life is too short to be worried about how much money you can or cannot spend, if you have the money and can afford to spend it i say go ahead and live like a king! If you cant afford to be spending all that money I suggest doing activities that dont require money like sports or just going to a night club and spend some money.

spend it on me. I will take you to all the parties for a flat fee of $1000 or more if you have it. Why waste it on some other jerk.

Do not go to the clubs, set a daily max on gambling, and spend more time walking and enjoying the sights and other entertainment like Wax Museum, malls

Just set a budget before you leave. Set a certain amount of money for food, drinks, gambling....

Don t go.

Id like to visit Boston, USA where is the best part to see? -

What is there to do on Maui, Hawaii? -

I am going to Maui later in December and wondered what there is to do on Maui.

The Maui Ocean Center, a wonderful aquarium. The Road to Hana, a drive where the trip itself is what it s all about. Hana itself is just a little town and not much to see, but the road is full of spectacular sights. Keep going a little beyond Hana and be sure not to miss O heo Gulch (a.k.a. Seven Sacred Pools)Watching the sun rise from the top of Haleakala (an extinct volcano)Bicycling down HaleakalaBeaches, beaches, and more beaches, great for swimming, snorkeling, or surfing (including body surfing and kite surfing)Sightseeing in Lahaina, a scenic old whaling town (also a great place for a luau). Don t miss the giant banyan tree. It takes up a whole city block.A whale watching cruise (sometimes combined with snorkeling). Winter is the season to see humpback whales. You may see a few from shore, but a cruise is likely to get you closer to them. They re amazing creatures.Snorkeling in Molokini Crater. It s an old volcanic crater off the southwest shore. One side of the cone collapsed, so it s crescent-shaped on the surface and boats can sail into it. It s sheltered from the waves and currents so it s a perfect place for calm and clear snorkeling or scuba diving.A sunset cruiseThe Iao Valley, another very scenic spot

Get up early and drive to the top of the volcano for the sunrise. The highest point you can drive anywhere. Swim with the turtles, lie on the beach, go scuba diving, Drive all the way around the island, meet girls (or boys) and go dancing, partying, .

Two major buildings in New York have been sold. Italian co. purchased the quot;Flatironquot; and...? -

...Arab s purchased Chrysler bldg.Should we be concerned about major properties being purchased by foreign companies due to the purchase price of the EURO? both of these buildings are major buildings in Manhattan.

These buildings are significant architecturally, but they re not important in the sense of having any ability to manipulate the economy, be militarily strategic, etc.You can think of it as taking advantage of the weak dollar to pay down the US debt. Our balance of trade is in deficit because we consume more than we produce. This is us selling something to bring that into balance. It just happens to be a building or two. Some of that money makes it to the government via capital gains taxes, and every dollar of that is a dollar that we don t have to borrow to pay off our massive budget. Arguably, that s the worst side effect of this deal: it lets Congress claim that they came closer to balancing the budget and therefore they can spend more money next year.We should take it as a signal, like when you have to pawn something to make rent. You know it s time to either get a third job, or cut back your expenses to the absolute minimum. We ve had plenty of signals to the same effect, but they re always in abstract terms, like more digits on the national debt clock. This is more concrete, and I hope somebody takes notice this time. The Italians don t have a particularly huge trade deficit with the US ($22 billion, a fifth that of Canada and a tenth that of China) and we actually have a positive trade balance with the United Arab Emirates (who actually exports very little to us directly.) Even the Saudi trade balance is only $25 billion (much of that money ending up in the UAE one way or another, where they buy lots of goods from the US.)Nonetheless, it s clear that with a net balance of trade a quarter of a trillion dollars in the hole, and unable to produce a positive balance for literally decades, we ve been living off our internal wealth for quite some time, and we ve racked up massive debts doing it.Selling off luxuries, like beautiful old buildings, can be made more palatable by thinking of it as selling high: it costs them a lot now. It s trading in the Lexus. The real thing to be worried about, though, is that if we don t fix it we re going to be pawning our wedding ring soon, and that hurts a lot more.

These foreign investors are actually doing us a large favor. They are bringing money back into our economy and purchasing these massive pieces of real estate before the insitutions are forced to fold from lack of funding. Are they going to take over the US? Absolutely not. How could they? If anything, they re mostly proving that America can still be a good business investment. So what should we be worried about? The reasons that the dollar has sunk so low in the first place to make sales like these so attractive to foreign investors. Our economy s in the craphole! And our politicians are doing very little to resolve these problems - especially for the lower and middle class. People are losing their homes, losing their jobs, losing their health coverage. All because of Washington incompetence. That s our real problem. And that we ve let it get this far, we deserve to have a few of our landmarks auctioned off to the highest foreign bidder.

that was buying all of the American Businesses. People thought that at the rate they were buying things up, they would own the country by 2000... and it didn t happen. China and many Middle East governments, people, and businesses are finding themselves with a huge number of dollars because of the trade deficit. They do need more goods so they use the money to buy investments. Overall, it is good for us for them to do this. They are moving our dollars back into the U.S. They will have a vested interest in our being a successful economic power. To my mind, they are just sending our paper back home to us.

and you consider this a travel question? i m more concerned about you...

And what s wrong with that Arabs r the best!

Should I move to LA????????????????????????????? -

Most people who ask this question are unprepared, unrealistic, with no money, no experience, no skills, (no visa), and no plan.If you are outside the United States, you will need a visa. The nice folks in the immigration forum can help you with that.Next, you need a plan: First item on the agenda is rent. A decent 1BR apartment in LA currently goes for $1200, give or take. Nicer areas and areas closer to the beach are much higher. Don t expect to move to Santa Monica and get an apartment on the beach for that much. Or Toluca Lake, or Beverly Hills.Next, you will need a car. Los Angeles is VERY spread out, and train service is extremely limited. If you don t have a car, you will have to take a bus, which takes 3 times longer to get anywhere than a car.All told, it generally takes about $3,000 per month to live here. If you don t have a job that pays that much or skills that can get you that kind of job, stay where you are. If you are unskilled and work for minimum wage (or for tips like bartending or waiting tables), you ll only make about $1200 per month. And speaking of jobs, they are rather hard to come by now. College grads seeking employment are having a very tough time of it right now, since the job market is flooded with experienced people who were laid off. Unemployment is over 12% right now. Not exactly the kind of job market you want to move into. Finally, you will need money. Landlords want first month s rent and a security deposit up front. You ll need money for food, transportation, utilities, etc. The consensus in this forum is that you need about $7500 to start out.So there s your plan. It s probably better to be stuck wherever you re at with friends and family, rather than suffer out here alone.

Wow, I don t know wheter to be flattered or angry. Obviously someone else has mastered the cut-and-paste.Everything there is true (since you plagiarized one of my answers), even your little ad-lib at the end. Best to be satisfied in all circumstances, rather than coming to LA because of a fantasy and becoming an item on the 6:00 news.My guess is that you re a disgruntled fan of mine. You went to a lot of trouble to create an account... is that the only reason? Like I said, I don t know whether to be flattered or angry. I ll get back to you on that.---------Hollywood Sharks are plagiarizing me too? That s it. I m calling my lawyer.

Congratulations ! You, almost word for word, plagiarized Obviousman s answer to those asking about moving to the Los Angeles. Shame on you for not giving him credit. In the literary world that is an unforgivable no, no .

you should add the disneyland thing to your column, everyone thinks disneyland is the center of the universe here in LA, it drives me nuts!

I agree with everything you wrote.

I see you ve been reading Obviousman s answers to this.Yes, that is all pretty accurate.

This exceeds the bounds of flattering immitation.....STOP THIEF.....You should at least give Obviousman some credit or a mention....even the Hollywood Sharks do that...

Is there any bus from greyhound station in Kansas City to MCI (KCI) airport? -

Using public transportation, two buses will do it. Looks like you need to get on Bus 25, then transfer to 129, the I-29 express to KCI Terminal C. Google Maps has directions below. Once at KCI, you can take the shuttle between terminals, so ignore that bit at the end about walking.

Whats the situation with UK people who visit the US and go into bars and ask for soccer to be shown, is this? -

usually complied with? Or would the others in the bar object?

Most bars in the US don t even carry the stations that soccer would be shown on. And if it was available, most of the other patrons would tell you they don t want to watch it.There are bars where people from the UK congregate and they usually have the stations where you could watch soccer.

If the other patrons in the bar are watching a game on the TV (one TV) your request to switch won t be well received. Note that it would be the same if you wanted to watch a different American football game (not about you wanting to watch European football). However, most places and all cities have numerous sports bars with multiple TVs and asking the staff to set one of them to the game you want is the whole reason for having multiple sets.

Put the shoe on the other foot.Americans walk into a pub full of Brits and ask them to put a baseball game on tv instead of the soccer the locals are watching and follow. I think a polite refusal might be the response. There d have to be a lot of you, spending a lot of money. If you can find a channel with soccer on, watch it in your hotel room.

soccer in the uk is like nfl football in the usa. i dont think the others should object, i think the bar should get more tvs so that they can all watch diffrent sports. if they only keep it on one sport, the people who want to watch soccer are going to leave and the bar is going to lose money/customers.

soccer or football in britian is like the nfl of america its part of british life so yh i wont object but have a poll to se who wants to watch what sport then put it on

Unless it is a special expats bar or similar I think you will see baseball or American football being shown . Don t think your request would be kindly received ,,
