Im going to orlando for the first time...Should I buy my tickets online or wait until I get there? -

Hi everyone. I am currently living in Mexico and me and my girlfriend are going to orlando for the very first time. I want to make our first trip memorable, so I am pretty nervous about getting everything planned. My first question is should I buy theme park tickets online or wait until I reach Orlando? Are there any discounts in Orlando that I might not get online. Also let me explain a little bit about my trip. I will be going from the 9th of January to the 16th, 2010. This is what I have been planning I would appreciate any suggestions. Day 1 (Saturday)- Universal StudiosDay 2 (Sunday)- Island of AdventuresDay 3 (Monday)- Sea World and dinner at Pirate Dinner Adventure. Day 4 (Tuesday)-MGM StudiosDay 5 (Wednesday)- EpcotDay 6 (Thursday)- Magic KingdomDay 7 (Friday)- Should I go to Animal Kingdom or Repeat a Disney Park?Day 8 (Saturday)- Repeat a Disney Park. Im 27 and My girlfriend is 23 and we are both very excited to go. I thank you all for your comments and suggestions. Help me make this the perfect vacation.

You will get a better deal on line for the tickets. Some places charge for shipping, but it is worth it. I will list some sites to visit and you can compare prices. Since you are going to do Universal the best deal is on there web site. Seaworld tickets are cheaper online as well. But since you are looking at only doing one day it will be the same if you purchased at the gate. And as for Animal Kingdom it is a must. Have the tickets delivered to the hotel it is so much easier then remembering them. Since it sounds like you will be staying at a hotel in the middle of everything visit orlando.com or google orlando magic card. It will list hotels that you can get discounts with. Also call the hotel you are interested in staying and ask if they have the magic card discount. If you have AAA then ask about that discount as well. Saved hundreds on hotels with the magic card.

Definitely online it s much cheaper and mor eoptions also if you are also looking for cheap hotels, go to CondoDirect.com I just go my room there for half the price as others and a suite also. Hope this helps

ness300 is right about the deals online. if you get into a package deal that makes everything worthit. I d keep my eyes pealed for tickets, hotel, a meal plans. those are the best because then everyting is prebooked. Especially because your not doing disney the whole 8 days. for 5 days in the park, on the other hand, it may work out better just to get the tickets when you get there. If you get your tickets in Orlando, they will rip you off!!!!!! Remember that its a torrist area. anything you buy down there will be expensive.disney tips::: USE FASTPASS-there free and they help cut the lines.STAY AT A DISNEY RESORT IF POSSIBLE- resort stayers get extra magic hours in the park after none resort stayers leave.IF YOU GET THE MEAL PLAN- you have have enormose portions of food, but you won t have to carry around your wallet because it will be all on your room key. (if you stay on premisis)DON T MISS THE FIREWORKS- they are amazing. they are not just your average fireworks. Definitly go the firework shows. DON T MISS FANTASMIC AT DISNEY S HOLLYWOOD STUDIOS- Its an amazing show. Last but not least,HAVE A MAGICAL TRIP!!!!!!

I arrived yesterday with the following planCurrent plan is as follows: * 9th Epcot Centre all day * 10th Hollywood studio all day * 11th Wet and Wild ( may be half day or more ) * 12th Busch gardens Tampa * 13th Magic Kingdom all day * 14th Kennedy space centre ( plans of 12,13 and 14 can be interchanged ) * 15th Universal adventure all day * 16th Universal studio all day * 17th Others: sky dive, airboat etc + shoppingJust did epcot today. Thanks to various advises on the net, there was no crowd today and I am hoping the same for the rest of the week. We walked into mission space and test track with no waiting and could repeat them literally in continuation. As for tickets, I bought the 3 park universal on the net for $125At the hotel lobby there was a lot of bargains as they added pirates show to my disney tickets for half the price and there are a lot of similar packages.Disney tickets are same rate on net, gate and at hotels.( I suggest the 5 day option as they are just $3 more and you have the choice to do some repeats in the evenings on other days especially for the shows )Today being part of the off season, the gates were queue-less.

Definately buy on line! You can find better prices and better to be prepared than have some weird chance of not getting tickets. You re trip sounds like lots of fun! First of all Animal Kingdom is a Disney park and I would go there rather than repeating. It is a great park that has had new editions the past couple of years that make it even better. It May not have as much to do as the other parks, but definately one day s worth. It is a great experience you shouldn t miss out on. Anyway you have another park. You might think about getting park hopper for the last day so you can go see everything you missed. However this would cost a bit more and prevent you from getting a five day pass which would also save you money, so this may not be worth it. Great choice in picking islands of adventure our of the universal parks, it is a lot more fun. Sea World is great! Ride manta! It is so much fun! Have a great trip!

Sounds like a great itinerary. Having been to all of the parks on many different occasions I suggest that you visit the Animal Kingdom instead of repeating another Disney Park. You might be able to get some discounts online. Given the time of year that you are going you might be able to find discounts once you arrive. Check the websites of all the parks to see what they offer for multiple day visits (e.g. Park Hopper). Caution though: make sure that you but tickets from a reputable outlet and beware of people giving big discounts in exchange for participating in a Time Share sales pitch.

Which town in Phoenix is a good area to live in? -

I live in NJ right now, and I m making plans to moving to Phoenix. But I ve been hearing that each town has good housing as far as apartments to live in, such as Goodyear, Tempe, Mesa, Chandler, or Scottsdale. I work for Dell as a System Engineer, and an IT job down there would be great. So which town has the best community, cheap housing, places to shop; malls, groceries, etc.? And is the job market getting better in certain areas?

Well, I m only familiar with Goodyear, Tempe, and Scottsdale.Goodyear has an abundance of low-priced homes because it is a fairly new city. Although, it has less of the homey feel to its environs because the city centers are all concrete, industrial-sized buildings. Also, I do not yet know of a home in Goodyear that is not in the suburbs, so if you re that type of suburban fellow, then great. Lovely cotton fields, too. Oh, and it is about a half an hour drive away from Phoenix on a good day.Tempe is a college town (ASU). Therefore, it has a hip, bustling mood to it and you ll see a lot of young men and women. A major plus to this city is it s unique shops and bookstores. The most popular shopping center here is the Tempe Marketplace, which is where the last X-Men movie premiered last year. :)Scottsdale is known as the place where some of the most wealthy individuals in Arizona come to live. If you can afford a home here, it is beautiful. Close to the Camelback Mountains, you can usually look out a window and see the purple mountains majesty closer than many. There are lots of shops here, most common is the Scottsdale Fashion Square. A very uptown kind of place to shop. I m trying not to stereotype anyone but I must say that the common preconception of those who live in Scottsdale is snotty and privileged. Also, you ll find great grocery stores here like Whole Foods, Trader Joe s (an Arizona natural foods store), AJ s (a fine foods store with gourmet wines, cheeses, pastries, so on) as well as the usual Wal-Mart and local grocery stores.

Well each person is going to suggest thier own city. I live in mesa, it has many malls lots of grocery stores and housing varys greatly. There are multimillion dollar houses in some areas and cheaper houses in others. Dobson Ranch is a master plan community (gigantic) it offers houses in the 100 s-200 s The schools are excellent. I don t know if you have kids. All parts phoenix are connected by freeways. Tempe is basically asu there is very few areas not dominated by the massive collage. Although Tempe has many attractions. Such as the tempe town lake. Mill ave. and Tempe marketplace. Scottdale is a rich area on the mountainside. But it has great food and shoppingChandler and Gilbert are very suburban residential cities. They have good schools and luxurious landscapes. Where ever the Dell plant is may have an impact.

I live near Chandler and recommend it highly. There is a mall surrounded by restaurants and movie theaters. Transportation is excellent and there are many houses for sale, which could provide good value.

I love Gilbert and it was named safest city in Az. Lived here 6 months. moved here from Mesa, East mesa which is close by and that also is a good area. Gilbert is average, I think as far as price.

Just go to Monster.com and checkout the job openings in the cities you listed. Yes the job market is getting better.I have a personal preference for Goodyear, Buckeye and Verrado only because I like the openess of the west valley. If you could find work on the westside of Phoenix in your field that would be great. There are more hi-tech jobs in the east valley in Tempe, Mesa, Chandler and Scottsdale and you would not enjoy the commute from the westside to the eastside. It would be a slow bumper-to-bumper drive. Now housing prices on the westside are great. After selling my property in California and moving here in 2007 I have chosen to rent. I have a 2000+ sqft house 4/2 with a 2 car attached garage built in 2004 for well under $1000/mo. in a nice area.In Goodyear you can live in a new 2500 sqft house in a gated community with your own pool for less than $1500. Anywhere you pick in the valley can provide you with a nice apartment, but keep in mind that a house is only a few hundred dollars a month more. The east valley offers more nightlife. That s partially because of the presence of ASU in Tempe. This school has over 60,000 students enrolled and obviously the business entities in the valley see them as a good revenue source and build their youth oriented businesses nearby.Shopping is also better on the eastside. More stores and more choices. One thing I find funny is that the incursion of big-box stores is common throughout the valley. Even Cave Creek. a segment of north Phoenix, has just voted to allow a Super Wal Mart in. This store will draw Scottsdale residents as well.I was going to buy a restaurant in Chandler last year until I saw several of the box-chains starting to build just down the street. People only have so much disposable income and these chains are hard go up against in the long run.Regular grocery shopping is available anywhere you choose to live. The bigger grocery stores here are Wal Mart, Fry s, Safeway, Albertson s and Basha s Two types of good food here that are hard to find are Italian and to my amazement Mexican. So before you come to Arizona grab a couple of large pizzas to go.
