What is there to do at the Inner Harbor for New Years Eve? -

I live in PA, and we want to travel to Baltimore for New Year s Eve. We booked a hotel, and I know they have fireworks downtown, but does anyone know what else they have? or if there are any clubs/restaurants near the inner harbor that are having events? We are looking for something low cost. Is it worth going downtown to see the fireworks?

Near the harbor theres ruths chris steakhouse cheesecake factory, hooters, ESPN Zone, fogo de chao, phillips ESPN zone, sooo many more For clubs theres Power Plant which is a coldasack of clubs with different themes its allot of fun.

I have never been there on new years eve but from what I hear, it is a pretty good place to be. One of my friends went two years ago and spent the night in the ESPN zone which is a pretty awesome place. You could also check out the hard rock cafe or even a night cruise in the bay. Have fun!

Whats life like in New York? -

New York always seemed so amazing in films and TV shows and it seems to be where everyone goes, but then I saw this film Enchanted and it looked horrible! Everyone was pushing and shoving and no-one seemed to be nice or understanding... also that tramp guy stole her tiara. What s it really like?

You are talking about tv shows and movies - that is, fantasy. The real NYC is nothing like you see on tv or in the movies. Yes, we have some fabulous places to go, but most people are just ordinary people, who get up and go to work every day. That s not to say that NYC is exactly the same as every other place. It s not. The culture of NYC is very different from the rest of the U.S. We move faster here. We pay less attention to strangers here (we just see too many of them to pay too much attention.) We walk more. And we have to get up close in tight places more - subways, elevators, crowded streets. Sometimes this may seem like people are pushing. Sometimes they ARE pushing! But most New Yorkers are really nice, helpful people if you really engage with us. Just pull out a map on a subway and ask someone a question about what train to take. Watch as more than one person will try to help you figure out where you are going! So, it s easy to stereotype us, but the truth is there are lots of perfectly nice people here. We just live differently in some ways.

Your experience in a city is not really defined specifically by that city but by your income and social status. Living in NYC is like living in almost any other very large metropolis (of course, there are things that make NYC special and unique, but every city has these traits). So, if you want to know what makes NYC unique, I would argue that it is the people you can find there. It is almost impossible to define the people of this city as a whole, and I would advise against taking anything you see in a movie too seriously.

me went once to this place you call new york city, i wanted to live that desire the american dream, me being an italian. I went I lived in little box made of brown paper, then oneday a man came and took me away, said I was illegal or something I have never been back since, I dont want to either... trashy dump place... full of snooty business people who cant spare 1 simple dollar =(

Well, the short answer is that, bearing in mind that they re both fictional, New York City is a lot more like the movie Enchanted than it is, like, say, the TV shows Friends or Seinfeld.

NYC is really nice. Life here is amazing although its cold. People here aren t bad, everyone walks in his own way. Good luck!

Wheres the best part to live in florida? -

im thinkin of moving down there, wat do you think

I ve lived in many areas of Florida, what do you like? City living or rural living. Do you need to find work or are you retired. Is cost a problem or are you open to any price. Florida is a varied place and you can have almost any type of place to live. I am partial to central Fl, around the Ocala area. Close to highways to be able to travel, but out in the country style living. If you like horses that is the place to be.

This is a very individual choice. Personally, I loved living in Panama City Beach where I could sit on my deck in the evening and watch the sunsets over the Gulf of Mexico. I also like the area around Tampa. Other people will have different opinions. What might be best for you depends on your personal preferences.

Port Authority to JFK using A Train? No AirTrain? -

I was wondering if you could get from Port Authority to JFK just using the subway without transferring? I think it was the A Train? I saw something about the E Train, too, but that involved the Air Train? Basically, what s the cheapest way to get form Port Authority to JFK???Thanks!

a direct trip by the subway is not possible, you must ether take the Airtrain or a city bus, which only goes to terminal 4( meaning you d need to get on airtrain anyway). the problem is none of the city buses are easily acceable from the A make the trip in less time than Airtain. Three buses go to JFK, the B15, the Q10 and the Q3. the B15 travel non stop past North Conduit station so it s out of the question (to get the 15, you d have to go to the L or 3 trains in East New York, and takes a good 30 minutes from the 3). the only other option is the Q10 from Lefferts Blvd, but that takes about 25 minutes. The Q3 meets one subway line (the F at Hillside ave) and goes the long way runing about 45 mintues.

If you take the A train from the Port Authority Bus Terminal to Howard Beach, you will still need to transfer to the Airtrain, regardless. There is no direct subway service from the PA Bus Terminal to the airport. Now, if you want to get to the airport directly, you can take the New York Airport Service express bus from the PA Bus Terminal to JFK. The one way fare is $12.Good luck

Cheapest way to transfer to bus.Best way;Take Queens-bound (E) from 42nd St-Port Authority Bus Terminal to Kew Gardens-Union Turnpike.Follow sign to Q10 bus with airport symbol.Once you exit, there is line for Q10 Local and Limited.Q10 Local via Conduit Av and Limited leaves from right side on Kew Garden Rd while supplement Q10 Rockaway Blvd local service leaves from Queens Blvd side. Also Q10 branches terminate at JFK Airport s Central Terminal, Terminal 4.From inside, airport ride is free as long as you don t exit at Jamaica or Howard Beach.

Those City Bus/Subway combos are cheapest $2.00, slowest and the biggest hassle. The subway/Airtrain is next. Taking the E from Port Authority is faster than taking the A. Either way, it takes a LONG time. $7.50Next Cheapest is the Express Bus $13.50.

try the shuttle or the bus, its about $17http://www.goairlinkshuttle.com/http://www.nyairportservice.com/
