Has anyone heard of a guy renting a cow in Chicago to keep his property rights? -

My property law professor told us a story (purported to be true) that some guy had gotten access rights to the Chicago River to water his cow in the 1800 s. The caveat was that he could only keep the property rights as long as he took his cow to the river to drink. Years later, some distant relative of the original property recipient was known to rent a cow once a year, and ceremoniously walk his cow to the edge of the river to keep his property rights. The river, in fact, was 30 feet below street level, so the man and cow would just walk to the edge of the concrete and look down into the river, but it was the act of taking a cow down there that mattered. After having maintained his property rights this way, the owner finally sold his small piece of land next the the river for some large quantity of money (like $1 million).I am wondering if this story is true. Has anyone heard of it? If it is true, could you point me towards a newspaper article about him? Thanks!

I haven t heard of a guy renting a cow, but I have heard that there is a cow path through buildings in the loop. I did see a show awhile back about this. There are metal doors at 100 W. Monroe that open to a hallway through the building. I have also heard that a cow is walked through this hallway occasionally.

This sounds more like a property easement allowing the man to walk across someone else s property for the purpose of watering his livestock. Laws like this are very real in rural areas. I haven t heard of too many cows wandering in Chicago though. Great story.

Is there website or any place that I can buy a low price ticket for Disney world, FL? -

Very, very few places. There are several scams and timeshare offers out there, but for legitimate discount tickets, you will only get very small discounts. Stick to authorized dealers, such as AAA, http://www.mapleleaftickets.com or http://www.undercovertourist.com

There is no such thing as cheap Disney World tickets. Disney keeps a very firm grip on ticket prices. You might be able to find a deal of just a few dollars, but anything more than that is likely to be a scam.Disney tickets are linked to their original owners by a biometric scan of the finger... basically a fingerprint. If someone else tries to use that ticket the gate will lock up and not let you through. Also, tickets expire 14 days from their first use unless the No Expiration option was purchased. So, don t trust any resale site like Ebay and be careful of any place that claims to offer cheap Disney tickets.

You may found tickets with low price as well as with discount at http://www.officialticketcenter.com

No there is not - Disney keeps a pretty tight lid on tickets and many find out - when they try to us discounter tickets - that they are turned away at the gate.

Advisory to Speedy:Dont t you think some of our SoCal visitors become confused when our cities call one of our teams The Los Angeles Angeles of Anaheim ? What a bizarre moniker? Yes, I know the reason why, it is for regional idenitty, but still it is a lame name. Let s not jump on the tourists.

Disneyland is not in Los Angeles by the way. It s in Anaheim. That depends where your hotel is at.tom92117 - Just letting them know in case they get lost and ask somebody for Disneyland in Los Angeles.

Where can I get the best turkey in Denver, Colorado? -

Which places have you tried? Why is it good? Any organic places to get turkeys as well. Do organic turkeys taste that much better than regular ones??

Whole Foods is supposed to be the best- but its expensive. I got mine from Safeway which was good and cheap as well. Ive heard good things about king soopers as well.

My favorites are the ones ordered from Vitamin Cottage that are both organic and free range. The flavor is noticeably better. Get one of the organic turkeys and brine it - it doesn t get any better. IMHO

Is Oklahoma a rule-free state? -

i heard my friend saying that oklahoma is rule-free, that you can drink there at any age, smoke at any age, some weed at any age, drive at ang age, etc. is this true?or is overprotective liek other states?

Basically your friend is full of it. Oklahoma is pretty much like other states. The drinking age is 21, smoking age is 18, and driving is 16 with a driving course, 18 without. In once sense they are a lot worse, as possession of any amount of pot is a year in jail.

Go on Travelocity and get a good deal on a flight to Amsterdam.

I happen to live in Oklahoma and we have rules. and you must be 21 to drink and there about to move the driving age from 16 to 18.

yeah, because the national drinking age is 21.

If you believe that, I have some beachfront property to sell you in Woodward.

No, it is not true.
