What are the dimensions of city corp building in new york city? -
How far is it from Port Angeles, wa to Bellingham, wa? -
Let s all remember that to get to Bellingham from Port Angeles you either need to take a ferry across Puget Sound or drive all the way down to Tacoma and go across the Tacoma Narrows Bridge. That s why it will take 4 hours.Probably the most efficient way to go is to take the Ferry from Port Townsend to Keystone (on Whideby Island). Drive north off of Whidbey Island and pick up I5 north of Mount Vernon.Edited to add: Bing does not factor in the wait time usually needed for loading and unloading onto the ferry. Plan on at least 3.5 hours for the transit, assuming you have minimal wait times for the ferry. 4 hours for the whole journey is a resonable estimate!
If you take The ferry it is 118.8 miles or a 3 hour 10 min. drive. Map: http://www.bing.com/maps/#JmNwPTQ4LjM3Mj
Yahoo Maps shows it s almost a 4 hour drive for 120 miles. Wow. Must be a million stoplights.http://maps.yahoo.com/#mvt=m lat=48.3720

Is there a Egypt exhibit at the Smithsonian museum in Washington DC ? -
The Smithosonian does have many ancient Egyptian artifacts on permanent exhibit at the Museum of Natural History in the Western Cultures Hall. They are comingled with artifacts from ancient Rome and Greece rather than a separate exhibit. You can also find an exhibit of ancient Egyptian art at the Freer. Don t expect to find anything as enormous as you see at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC :)
Are you referring to the Tut exhibition that s been traveling around the country? If so, it is not (at least at present) in Washington. The Smithsonian doesn t have any extensive collection of Egyptian antiquities. They focus on American history and culture. The National Gallery of Art may have a few such items (although I can t immediately think of any). The closest museums I can think of that are strong in Egyptian antiquities are in Philadelphia and New York.UPDATEI m glad that Pepper was able to think of some specific exhibits. I stand with my original statement, though, that Egyptian antiquities are not a strength of the Smithsonian.
What are the consituents of maryland like? -
Quite varied. In the cities and suburbs, there is a large Democratic leaning. These are the population centers of the state, and they tend to sway state politics. In the more rural areas (Western MD, Southern MD, and the Eastern Shore) the people are much more conservative (Republican leanings). They tend to be lower population areas, and are not able to have much impact on state politics.Marylanders would adamantly oppose gun rights legislation and abortion bans.Do you have a particular issue in mind?
People from Maryland are way cool, very open minded people. Jon Waters is from Baltimore, though he is hardly typical which is why he rules. Have fun if you decide to move to MD.
well, maryland (especially its largest section, montgomery county) is a strongly democratic state

Is it ever even a little bit cold in California? -
Wherever you choose to live it should be on the coast somewhere. That way it ll be sunny for him with a nice breeze for you. I live in Ventura County and the hottest it gets here is 85 and the coldest like 40. Its really nice.
You might want to consider the north central coast area. The Pacific breezes generally keep winters from getting very cold or summers very hot.http://www.wunderground.com/US/CA/Santa_If you split up, you might like South Lake Tahoe. BF might like El Centro.
San Francisco is usually cold, only a few hot days a year. Lake Tahoe would be good for you also. I grew up in the Bay Area (San Jose) and experienced anywhere from 25 degrees F to 120 F.
duh. california is not all beach and sunshine...the bay area is hasent gon below 38 and hasent been above 108. or maybe some where near nevada.it snows and cann reach like 115
We have that special kind of snow in our mountains that never needs cold. Haven t you ever seen those videos of bikini babes skiing?
If you live in the San Fransisco area w/kids...? -
I came to SF from Illinois back in 1983 and can t imagine leaving. That being said I m also a single woman with no children which is a good fit for San Francisco. Raising kids in SF is tough, there is no avoiding that fact.As others have said it is very expensive to live in The City. Housing for a family will start at $750,000 for a condo. There are good schools and not so good schools and the competition to get your kids into the good ones will be stiff.Unemployment is above the national average so if you don t have jobs lined up or job skills that are in high demand don t come here looking for work without a good amount of savings [$10K or more].One of the other answers suggested living outside the city, that is a wise suggestion but if you are considering Oakland be VERY careful and do lots of research before you choose a neighborhood. If you find an inexpensive house it may be in a high crime area, not a good choice for a family with children. There are lots of great communities in the East Bay but you must research to find one that will be a good match for your family.I don t think that it is the distance of the move that is the real issue, it is more a matter of a very different lifestyle. You should visit before making such a decision. I love it here, but it is not for everybody.
Well I live in San Francisco, and it is very beautiful here. But the cost of living here is just way 2 much..., houses ranges from 500 thousnad to 2 million $. The schools r GREAT as there r many variety of choices u could choose from. weather iz usually foogy as it iz near the coast, but in some days sunny. In my opinion u should move 2 oakland in once awhile vu could come 2 San Francisco visit as Oakland s houses r SO MUCH CHEAPER, probably ranging in cost from 100 thousand to 500 thousand $, it iz also located in the San FRANCISCO BAYAREA.too also close 2 SAN FRANCISCO. By the way San Francisco iz a gREAT place 2 raise children am i almost forgot, houses in san francisco r decreasin in value so they r probably much cheaper now i guess, u could research more if u r rael intterested!!! Hoped this helps! Sry 4 the smany spellin grammer errorz i had 2 type this quickly!!! =D By the way do u mind answerin my question (GO HERE)http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20091115205924AAkzstG
CA is great, but the SF area is very expensive!!! Some schools are better than others just like anywhere. Private schools are everywhere, but I send my kids (10 and 11) to public school and they are both doing well. The weather in SF is usually grey but probably better than Indiana. I live in Southern CA near Disneyland. And the weather here is always great 70-80 most of the year with no humidity at all. I wear shorts almost all year long.
Where is the best places to go looking for shrooms around corvallis and albany? -
Oregon has vast areas of public lands. State forests and National Forests are open to you year round.Good luck has been had in the McDonald-Dunn Forest by Corvallis. From Corvallis, OR take 3rd Street/HWY 99 W north about 6 miles to Camp Adair store (on your right) and if you look across the street you ll see the Adair Orange Gate . This is your starting point.
try your friendly local drug dealer.....
Best drinks in LA for $5 or less? -
I think you can get those at your 7-11 at the slurpee machine. Any drink under $5 isn t going to be the best of anything, unless it s biggest disappointment .
You can get a small, medium, or large drink at any McDonald s for $1.09 for a limited time.
Oh no you re asking this in the Los angeles section.. Try the Louisiana section / New Orleans
Little Joy in Echo Park.
Steps To Moving Out Of State? -
Moving to another state is not like moving to a foreign country, its more like moving across town. And you would follow the same steps you would use to move in your home town as you would in Florida. The resources you would use (classified ads, craigslist, real estate agent, apartment broker) depends on what you want to do. Are you buying a house, renting your own apartment, looking to rent a room with roomates, moving into a dorm, etc etc? Some of the things you would need to do in a new state would be obtaining that States drivers license/id card. But you can t do that until you have a local address to prove you are a resident of that state. You may also need to get a new bank, if your local bank is not represented there. If your working in your new state, you would also need to file your income taxes there, but not till tax time on April 15th As for college, steps you you need to take depends on what type of college your going to. Community College, State University, Private Technical college, Beauty College? Some you just mail them a check and your high school transcripts and your in. Others you would need to petition and hope for the best. Some may offer money and assistance and resources, other schools would offer little or no help
Well, if you interested in inexpensive places to live, the only one I can think of in Central Florida, is a little town called Lakeland. It s about halfway between Tampa and Orlando, and my friends have a pretty nice apartment there for about 500 per month. I d have to say though, the first step to moving to Florida, at least if you are definitely going to go to college, would be to apply at the college of your choice.
Is it beach weather in miami? -
Although a cool front can come through, the chances of you having a decently warm day to lay out are pretty high. The water is cool but not cold. You will see a few people swimming in the water. It is sunnier during the fall and winter, you don t get those daily afternoon thunderstorms like in the summer.
Yes it is, but it s a give or take. I am in north Florida and we will be nearing 80 degrees tomorrow, but the following day our high will be in the 60s. Miami is about 10 degrees warmer, so the day times will be good beach weather, while the night time will be chilly. Water WILL be cold. Because of El Ni?o, this winter will be a much more rainy winter than usual. So as long as it s not rainy or cloudy, you should be able to tan just fine... If you are visiting and don t yet have a place to stay, I suggest picking up a free RoomSaver guide, you can get Miami rooms for as low as $39!
Yes, though right now there s cold fronts here and there, but it isn t cold like new york or something. It s just cool nowadays (thanksgiving was really cold though) and the sun is shining.
Yes.

Is there a parade at the Orleans casino in Vegas? -
You mean the Rio Masquerade Show in the Sky. It consists of a several floats that are suspended from the ceiling above the casino and travel around with dancers on them throwing strings of beads at the crowd. There is usually a stage show with singers and dancers providing the music. It lasts about 20 minutes and is a lot of fun. I like it and often get strings of Rio beads as free souvenirs which several gals in my office then fight over when I return to work. It is a free show and you will enjoy it as long as you are not a party-pooper. It is a lot for nothing. The show runs on the hour from 7pm to midnight Thursday thru Sunday. The Rio is not on the Strip but is worth a brief side trip to see. There are two excellent buffets one regular one seafood, the Penn and Teller show is excellent and they have three clubs and several lounges with pretty good acts as well. *
It s called the Masquerade Show In The Sky and it s at the Rio. Here is a video clip.http://www.lasvegas-how-to.com/rio.php
The Orleans does not. You may be thinking of the Rio.
It s at the Rio and it s only at certain times. Honestly, I don t think that it s really worth going out of your way to see.
the rio has one
What do you think about texas and texans? -
I moved to Houston and lived there between 1994 and 2008, and I loved it...Texas is cool and so are its people...you can t beat the hospitality and friendliness...
I like Central Texas/Hill Country: places like Austin, San Marcos, Wimberly New Braunfels the Panhandle around Amarillo where I was born but I do NOT like Houston at ALL! I like how TX is the only state that can secede : I wish it would already so we can have our OWN president. You can be proud to be born raised in Texas but you can also NOT be proud to live in Houston. I mean come on Houston is only ONE freaking city in TX for Christs sake!
hahaha everyone thinks that. that is NOT the case. well, near the pan handle...and some places. and there are many country people...but im from houston, and it s not like that at all. it s a city. people just need to stop assuming things and shut up lol
when i think of TX i think of Houston cuz thats where i always go and thats where my dad s house is and some of my cars are...so i definitely dont think of it being all ranch and hick like. houston is a busy place
I think people try to hide their accents and be fake, but it doesn t work. And I think people in Houston wanna be like New Yorkers. And yes, most people from here are hicks.
one thing... football in 120 degrees!
they thought you lived in a trailer park where modern hygiene is rare.
