Are businesses going to be open in Austin on Jan 1st? -

I m going to ATX for NYE and staying for the weekend and I was wondering, will most businesses actually open on New Years Day? I wanted to check out the SoCo district in the afternoon and maybe hit up the Warehouse District for some live music at night.Oh and any suggestions on good shops that offer hand-made, eco-friendly clothing? Or any hippie shops I guess could do.Thanks so much!

As in most other cities, a few business will be open on January 1st, but most will not.

Another lost soul comes to Austin. But stay away from the tourist trap known as the SoCo District. You need to go to the Horseshoe Lounge on S. Lamar or the Poodle Dog Lounge on Burnet Road. Both sell eco-friendly attire and they are locally famous for their martinis and cosmopolitans.

I have a question for Payson AZ People...? -

I will be taking a drive over to Payson AZ This Friday 25 2009 and will be staying a few days, Is there any snow up there or is there any chance it might snow, i tried searching it on a weather site but i would like to hear it from someone who actually lives there. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR HELP!!!

We re actually in the midst of a winter storm in northern AZ. So yes there will be snow, be very careful and drive with extreme caution.
