Can anyone reccommend best hotel to stay at in Lake Buena Vista? -

Would like a really nice one that has lots of facilities, clean nice rooms, good for families, nice clean pool and lots to do close by - even within walking distance. Cant afford 5* level but dont want to go to cheap and basic as I know it wont be very nice so nothing below a 3*.

What do you plan to do while you are in the Lake Buena Vista area? If you are wanting to go to the Walt Disney World Resort then you should look at the Value resorts. They are the All-Star Movies, All-Star Music, All-Star Sports and the Pop Century resort. None of those are close enough to walk to the Disney parks, but you do have access to free Disney transportation to/from the Disney theme parks, Disney waterparks and Downtown Disney shopping area. You will also have free transportation to/from the airport if you fly in. Also, all Disney resorts also have at least 1 pool.If you are wanting to go to Universal Studios, Sea World, City Walk etc then you need to look for a hotel in the Orlando area.Disney and the other theme parks are not close to one another. It takes about 20-30 minutes of driving time to get from the Disney resort to Universal.

Try the Disney All Star resort. Moderate rate for Disney. For being on a budget just go to the Kissimmee area on Route 192. There are scads of Hotel/Motels with decent amenities. Most of the main chains and some great Mom and Pop places to. Just show up and cruise the road. All are close in to Disney. Also look at the intersection of I-4 and U.S. Hwy. 27 west of the Disney complex.

I Searched on this site and got the Cheapest Hotel even 3 star cheapest,Check it out,it also had Discount Coupon Codes for Expedia,Travelocity, Orbitz,Priceline,etc.http://freetravel4ever.blogspot.com

All the hotels on Hotel Blvd are old and nasty to me. It is not that pedestrian friendly either. You should try International Drive where the newer hotels are located near the Orange County Convention Center.

What time of year is the best time to go to Hawaii to catch the best weather there? -

I want to visit the islands, but don t want to experience too much of the endless heat and sun, so I m looking for the best weather, and ideally no expensive fares. Ideally we want cloudy skies (probably a rarity there, unfortunately), relatively cool temperatures, and maybe some nice breezes from the ocean - generally pleasant weather. Thanks!

The weather doesn t change much throughout the year. There are times of the year that are more susceptible to hurricanes (June through November is hurricane season, with the greatest likelihood being August through October). And, during the winter, there are large ocean swells that come in from the north. The water can be a bit cooler this time of year, to where you would do well to wear at least a partial wetsuit for snorkeling. The swells combined with stronger trade winds (constant prevailing winds out of the east) can make for rough traveling on the water. But, the advantage of going to Hawaii in the winter (december through April, generally) is that s when the humpback whales return to their breeding grounds in the Hawaiian waters. And, ironically, it s during the time when the ocean is rougher due to wind and swells that the whales are the most active. For some reason, the constant activity of the wind and waves on the surface attracts the whales more and they tend to do things like breaching more often. Last time I was in Maui was in February and I went on a snorkel trip to Lanai, across the channel from west Maui. It was 30 knot winds and 6 foot seas. It was so rough, we couldn t snorkel off of Lanai. But, the whale activity was incredible. At one point, we had a female slapping the water with her fin about 50 feet away from the boat. This drew three males to her, who began breaching out of the water to impress her within about 100 feet of our boat.Regarding cost, it s generally less expensive to fly there when people aren t usually going to be there. The most expensive time is during holidays and traditional travel periods (even in summer). Late fall, and late winter to mid spring are probably the best times to go.

Hawaii is not like Singapore which is in the equatorial tropics, i.e., it is in the trade wind belt so there are usually nice breezes to moderate the heat. Also, the islands are failry small, and the Pacific is a lot colder than the Gulf or Caribbean which have hotter islands. It is rainy in the winter, and can get down into the low/mid 60 s at night, even the upper 50 s until it warms up during the day. I like the winter, but if you are unlucky you could run into rain multiple days in a row, particularly in December. Jan and Feb are colder but are drier than December. Although the average temperature only varies by about 8F from winter to summer, the additional humidity makes it seem a lot colder in winter and hotter in summer. If you don t like the heat, avoid the summer months. Airfare and hotel rates are higher in the summer anyway. So, try March, April, October and November. Fares are usually reasonable during those periods as well (except for Spring Break in April) and in the existing bad economy you can get good rates for airfare and hotels really almost anytime now...

Any time of year is good to go to Hawaii. The temperatures remain the same year-round (around 80 F in the daytime). If you re headed to Oahu, Honolulu and Waikiki are the drier sites on the island year-round. Do take an umbrella with you in case it rains. When it rains there, it s usually on the light side and not very heavy or flooding rains. If you re at a higher elevation, you ll be cooler. Hurricane season is June through November, but they aren t that common in Hawaii like they are in other places (the Caribbean and Florida). From my personal experience, I d go during the winter.

When my husband and I went to Oahu we went in Feb., it was great. We left snow and freezing rain for beautiful tropical weather. It was nice and warm everyday; it did rain one day in the morning but the rest of the time it was paradise.

The first time I went, I was with my parents and older brother in April 2001. The second time I went, I was by myself in July 2007. I think they were about the same to me.

Queens, New York City? -

I m going to spend a week in NYC and visit 2 friends of mine; one is in Monmouth,NJ and the other is in New Haven, CT, So I thought Queens would be the best place cuz it s right in the middle. Now -- what s the nice/safe area in Queens that has some nice hotels and has a train/subway takes to Manhattan?-- Is it a good idea to stay in a hotel in the JFK Airport area? I will appreciate any help.

There are some good hotels in the Sunnyside neighborhood of Queens. These hotels are on Queens Boulevard or very close to it.In Sunnyside, you will be right next to the 7. The 7 goes into Manhattan, and connects with the A,C,E,1,2,3,B,D,F,V,N,Q,R,W and the Grand Central Shuttle. If you stay at a hotel near JFK, you will be a lot farther away from Manhattan. The only subway line in that area is the A. From that area, the A will take a good 30 minutes just to get to Manhattan or so.

The hotels near JFK are not really in a good part of town. The streets are dark and lonely. Plus it is not that close to Manhattan and would add an hour to the ride by public transport to the other two locations.4Pick a hotel in Astoria, or Long Island City or Sunnyside and cross reference a subway map. Go to mta.info. On the subway map page you can click on the pdf icon to get an enlargeable and printable map.Get back to us if yopu pick a particular hotel because some of thaose areas can be a little dicey as well.

Would you take th greyhound bus? -

In march, myself, fiancee ad brother will be taking the greyhound from maine, down to Missouri. To see our best friend who just move from maine to missouri. Never take the greyhound so i didnt know what the experiance was like. Didnt know if some people could give me some advice/tips and some of their own experiances? Thanks a bunch.

The Greyhound is safer than driving. Yes there was that horrible incident in Canada last year but that is the only time such a thing has ever happened.

Someone had their head cut off on a Greyhound bus by a crazy guy with a knife. He then ate pieces of his face and showed it to everyone on the bus. So, no. I would not take a Greyhound bus.

Any free or very cheap places to camp in the New England area? Who wants to pay $30/night to camp? -

My wife and a few friends of ours are planning on going camping sometime next August. We live in RI but would be willing to travel to anywhere in the New England area (within 4 hours or so). I know most campgrounds will rent you a site you can pitch a tent, but they charge you anywhere between $30 and $45 a night! On top of that they ll charge you an additional fee per person/per night. It would cost 6 of us over $400 to go camping for a week, and that s just the site. What has become of just pitching a tent in the woods and having a good time? Anyone know of any places where we can just pull up, pitch a tent, and eat out of the truck?

You can camp at any Massachusetts state park for $ 9.25. The website says 9.25 per reservation. You need to call in advance If you are calling inside the USA call toll-free 1-877-I-CAMP-MA or 1-877-422-6762outside the USA 518-884-4959 (long distance charges apply)http://www.mass.gov/dcr/recreate/camping Mass DCR hopepage http://www.mass.gov/dcr/forparks.htm
