For parents whove traveled before? -

I was just wondering a couple of questions about taking along strollers and car seats. My first question is is it okay to bring along a stroller and car seat and stuff like that? If so, do you bring them on as carry-ons or do they both go with the suitcase? Thank-you!

You did not say how you are traveling, The first person mentioned air travel and is correct, but if you are traveling by bus, most buses do not have seat belts and a car seat would not be a good idea to have the kid sitting in it due to it not being restrained properly.

Yes, you can bring along your kid s stuff. If your car seat says it s FAA approved, you can (and should) bring it onto the plane so your kid can sit in it. This is both safer than just sitting in the plane seat, and your kid will be in his or her familiar car seat. If your kid is under 2 and doesn t have a separate seat, you can check the car seat. Most airlines will let you gate check the stroller, that is, you give it to them just before you get on the plane, and they give it back shortly after you get off.People travel with small children all the time. So long as you plan ahead reasonably, e.g., spare diapers for the smallest kids, picture books and games and snacks for bigger kids, you ll be fine.

You can bring the car seat on the flight with you ONLY if you paid for a seat for the child( to put them in it). If not then it is checked along with the stroller. But the stroller can be taken to the gate to be checked in there. The stroller is free I do not know about the car seat.

Where can I find snow to play in in December I know certain places have quot;Winter Wonderlandquot;? -

experiences. I want to go on a sleigh ride, build a snowman have a snowball fight. :(( All I could find was some Snow Day @ Discovery Green on a Sat in Dec. There has to be more than THAT? Also is Discovery Green ALL that during X mas? What is there for an ADULT to do? :(( Please HELPFUL informative NOT rude insulting answers I have to report. It s X MAS for GODS sake!

All you can do is go to Colorado or hope for snow in December, I remember the last time was in 2004! That s been 5 years, so hopefully we re due for another snowfall.

Wonderland in Westchase at Quillian CenterHoliday in the Park in BellaireI go to both of these every year. They both are really fun and have snow plus a lot of other stuff. Both are free. Go to Wonderland in Westchase.

Even the best Winter Wonderlands in Houston will never have enough snow for sleigh rides or snowball fights, sorry. Maybe a car trip up to the Panhandle? Not much to do there but they do get snow.

Not sure about 2004, because it snowed a little last year. Check out Santa s Wonderland in College Station. I m not sure if they have snow, but I heard its awesome.

If you had were to spend 1 day in NYC, where would you want to go the most? -

thnx in advance :)

There s a lot in NYC for everyone, it depends on who I m with. Some people love shopping but in my opinion, if you have one day, do things that you never did before: see a Broadway show, Statue of Liberty (if you don t mind a lot of steps), Empire State Building, or my favorite, go to the top of the Rockefeller Center - great view, three outdoor levels, with glass walls around them. There s ice skating as well outside the building. There s also a lot of museums, the most popular are the Museum of Natural History and Metropolitan Museum of Art. Each is enormous, so if you go it s easy to lose track of time. There s a lot of city guidebooks that can help you find attractions restaurants that meet your budget, it s always good having one when you travel. Enjoy your trip!

to Connecticut . I hate cities.

Never been to N.Y.C. but I would like to go see Rockefeller Center this time of year especially with the snow (live in Fl. not alot of snow here.)

empire state, carlos bakery, shopping malls :)

What is the fastsest way to drive from Detroit, MI to Orlando, FL? -

Try to help me out, thanx!

It s I-75 and three Florida toll roads: FL-91, FL-408, and I-4, a total of 17 hours, 51 minutes.* * * follow up * * *Well, to avoid Atlanta, there this route which is 31 minutes and 30 miles longer: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q source=sOr this one which is 9 miles and 43 minutes longer still: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q source=s

Go to mapquest.com and enter the start and finish addresses or cities and you will get a map and a detailed instruction to drive by. It will include miles along the way, the total miles and the estimated actual driving time.

Christmas weather in Orlando? -

Just wondered what kind of weather to expect in Orlando this December. This will be our first visit at this time of year and are hoping that we can still enjoy the water parks, but not sure if weather hot enough for us to dry out as you wander through the parks.

I guess it really depends on what you are used to. If you are coming from a frigid climate it will feel like paradise but it will be way too cold for most tourists to enjoy any of the water parks. The water temps will be too cold in December.Expect the weather to be variable. It is very possible to be well below 40 degrees one day and above 75 the next day.The average temperature in Orlando in December is just under 73 degrees.

Christmas in Orlando varies GREATLY from year to year -- I ve lived here over 20 years and some years I m bundled up in what looks like ski clothing and other years I m sweating in shorts and a t-shirt. As for the water parks, the water is heated in all Disney parks and pools (to 74 degrees, I believe), so it s really a matter of whether the air temp cooperates. You might watch Accuweather.com for forecasts (they go out 15 days -- the furthest I m aware of for any weather site) and get an idea of what the weather s going to do, this year.

My sister and her family were in Orlando last Christmas. They were able to spend time in their villa pool on Christmas Day. The evenings were cool but the days were lovely and warm. I don t think they went to a Water Park but even my 88 year old mum (who was there too) said it was nice and warm.Have fun!

here is a website dedicated specifically for christmas in orlando... have a great time!http://www.christmasinorlando.com/
