Why doesnt Chicago have any Pride when it comes to Sports? Bear fans especially? -

Why doesn t Chicago have any Pride when it comes to Sports?Chicago is the greatest city in the universe. But when it comes to Sports we have no pride and no desire to win. The fans and the media are so soft and never pressure teams to win. This is the one and only area where I wish we were more Like New York. How many times have we heard athletes in the major sports say that playing in Chicago is like a vacation as there is no pressure. But on the East coast or anywhere else, especially New York there is so much pressure to win from the fans and the media who actually care that you must go 100% in those cities. the media is asking players and coaches questions about what their favorite movie or music, etc is? I mean come on!I just do not understand why we care so little about our sports team here in Chicago with the wimpy media and wimpy fans? Is it just no pride or what?

I have lived here my whole life and just got used to it. The fans and media here in Chicago are wimps. No pride or self respect. They bow to these pathetic teams like the Bears and put no pressure on them to win because nobody here cares enoughand trust me the losers who run the teams here no there is no pressure from the fans or the media to win!The Dallas fans and Media are tough, did you see how they reacted even before the cowboys lost yesterday? And Dallas has a great history, not like the always loser Bears.

That s because we just don t give a f---! Is what we do, we re cursed, happy and bogus. We lik ethat way and we ALWAYS like to keep it on a low. Let New York, and L.A get all the attention but Boston is up there too.We have passion but we just don t give a f---!

You are wrong. The fact that the White Sox kept a strong fan base for so long and that the Cubs have any fans at all after a century of futility belies your premise.

I have been disappointed in the newscasters in Chicago. Chicago lacks tons of media attention because they don t invest their money in advertisement like NYC does. Lack of consistency I guess!

they are brutal on them here if they dont preform just ask Milton BradleyChicago is used to losiong teams for a long time its just part of our lifekeep an eye on the Blackhaks at this time they are our hope

cause the bears suck this year. (:

Do people from St.louis Mo have accents? -

iam from saint louis missouri and i hear all kinds of accents and i want to know if people from saint louis have them

Well I didnt think I did until I met someone in town from Michigan who said that I had the missouri accent. Depends on whether people are native St. Louis or came from other parts of the state. Some of the more rural areas almost have a southern twang. We do pronounce some things rather funny such as 40 = farty and wash = warsh

The accent comes out when you ask St. Louis ins the two (2) acid test questions...#1-What High School did you go to?#2-What s the best way to get to the airport from downtown (near the Arch) around 5:00 P.M. on a Friday in mid July (with a short gas stop) to catch a International flight leaving at 7:00 P.M. ?????

I feel they do in fact nearly everyone has something in their voices that create something of accent. i live in texas but i am from michigan. they say i sound like north eastern so i can never get rid of it even though i am frm there. i had texas and therefore its fine with me.

I went out of state to college and someone once told me I sounded Texan.

No, but they will ask you what high school you attended within the initial 10 minutes upon meeting.

Depends. Do you say miz-OO-ree or miz-uh-ruh?

Yes, depending on the area and the time you grew up in St. Louis.

Im 20 years old and i live in Texas i want to find something fun to do? -

Yeah, you can play basketball or football with your friends, or you can do some community service.

Play football or toss cow patties.

What part of Texas do you live in I will try to help you find something fun to do?

Strip club......DUH or make a friend?

Will i be safe taking the greyhound by myself? -

so i usually travel by amtrak because it seems pretty safe but this time around i notice the prices were more expensive so im thinking about taking the greyhound........ for amtrak its 295 round trip and greyhound is only 180 round trip to where im going, i am a woman traveling alone with my 5 month old son this would be my 1st time traveling greyhound i just wanna know if ill be pretty much safe and is it worth saving my money instead of going through amtrak or would it just be worth traveling amtrak?

The people on greyhounds are a little...sketchier. But I don t think anyone is going to bother you. If it were me I d take the greyhound and save the money.

I would only be concerned about the location of the bus stations where you might want to get off the bus for a bit to get some fresh air. Some stations are in the deep dark corners of cities and towns.I don t know, but maybe changing diapers on a bus could get interesting?

What would be the cheapest way to move from AZ to MO? -

Obviously this has to be a one-way trip. I m currently living in a 600 sqft apartment and don t even have enough furniture to fill it, so I don t need any monstrous truck to carry my stuff. The car I ll be driving to MO is a 1992 Saturn, so there s definitely not room to transfer most of my stuff that way. The biggest downside is I have to tow my car (1976 Firebird), which I ve been told won t even fit on most trailers or dollies due to its dimensions.I ve already compared prices with U-Haul, Penske, and Budget... What other ones might I be missing out on?

Ryder is another one. Who is driving the truck? How about you rid yourself of the Firebird?

US - Is Dallas, TX, a nice place to live in? -

I m moving from the UK there in the nearest future, I think and would like to know what you know about the city, thanks!

come on down!has more restaurants per capita than NYC. You could eat at a different place every night and never get to every one...bloody hot from about mid-May to October. If you like swimming pools....get a house with one! You will spend a lot of $ air conditioning your house or apt...but I think it s worth it...winters usually mild, though very occasionally we will get in teens or even single digits. For young person, I would say live in the city (West Village, Oak Lawn, Lakewood etc.); some nice hip neighborhoods with a lot going on. We are in the process of developing a big arts complex downtown. By the Dallas Museum of Art Nasher Sculpture Garden, we now have the brand new Winspear Opera House and whatever the funky theater is there. All is under construction!and yes, surrounded by suburbs, each has its own character--or lack thereof--I live in Carrollton, pretty nice, has all I need. Garland/Mesquite...hmm....sorry, not my cup of tea. Richardson is full of enginerds, but has big Chinese Indian populations (you can get your curry fix). Irving is a bit of a melting pot, some upscale (Las Colinas) and some very downscale neighborhoods! You will absolutely need a car. There is some public transportation, but it mostly goes to/from downtown Dallas, so unless you live in the burbs and commute downtown, it s pretty useless. I think big D has a great quality of life for the reasonable $ to live here. People are friendly, spring and fall can have great weather (today 75 or so, we have the air conditioning on....unfortunately not going to last, gonna storm tomorrow night and then we ll have a cold front to drop us down into the 50s)oh and hey....if you get homesick...there are some British pubs here too!

Coming from the UK, unless you have spent much time in the US it will be shock. I live in Houston but work in Dallas, but been in Texas most of my life.1) Dallas and the surrounding area usually referred to as part of Dallas is a very large area, do you have a auto?2) You might want to get an apartment close to your job to have time to learn more about the city and surrounding areas before you decide where to live in Dallas3) There is a lot that goes on in Dallas from arts to theater to sporting events to shopping, but unlike european cities in Dallas it is spread out4) cost of living will be in your favor5) the brits I know love having access to great steaks and beef6) the beer is colder here but the temperature is hotter too and cold beer goes good with hot weather7) Texas is a friendly state, Dallas is a little more ego and money status driven than the other cities in Texas8) The suburbs of Dallas are conservative in political views and the city is liberal, like all major cities in Texas9) Dallas like to think of itself closer to NYC in style than Texas10) They love their football team.

Dallas has some great areas but I would still live in a suburb that has a lower crime rate. Garland, Richardson, and Plano are great suburbs to live in. If you are going to work in Dalla I would live in Garland. The city is large but has a lower crime rate than Dallas. Even though people like Rockwall and Rowlett stay away from those cities because there streets are conjected due to bad city planning.

no theirs alot of traffic but their malls are awesome

NEw York City first time hotels decent near LGA? -

Hi all. My daughter and I are going to be in NY next couple of weeks. Know nothing about the city. Coming in at LGA airport and need clean safe cheap hotel at the airport or close enough that they have a shuttle. Need it as cheap as possible but decent. Can use Sams club, costco, or aarp for discounts. Also, need to know where nearest subway is and best and cheapest way to use it. We will be in the city only two nights. Thanks much!!!

Now why are you going to stay all the out there??? That is East Elmhurst/Steinway neighborhoods of Queens. You have to take a bus just to get to the subway and then you are going to be on a train at least 60 minutes just to get to times square in manhattan!!! Now that doesn t include transferring to a different line to go to whatever tourist site you want to go. Assuming your visiting Manhattan. You can get decent rates in a hotel in Manhattan if you do a little research!!! Try going on the internet go onto price line or expedia or orbitz or whatever site your using and get a hotel room in Manhattan that is in your price range!!

Hi,You can check the LGA Holiday Inn, quite cheap compared to others although i d recommend you to look in NYC since commuting in out NYC to LGA takes abt 2 hours per trip. NYC has plenty of cheap hotels with good facilities. Take a look at the links below, its for LGA Holiday Inn and some other hotels in NYC, just for you to compare and decide.http://www.holidaycity.com/newyorkcity-lhttp://www.holidaycity.com/newyorkcity-1Enjoy your trip!

Use Expedia and search under Long Island City. All of the Queens-based hotels will come up. You have two choices. Should you stay near the airport, you will take the M60 bus into Harlem, get off and take one one of the trains down. Just let the bus driver know what avenue you want to be near and he can suggest a line.If you stay in Long Island City, you will be nowhere near the airport, but much closer to midtown Manhattan. 3 buses and 7 subway lines leave from this area. Please note, that if you stay in Long Island City, many of the hotels are new, but the surrounding area is industrial and can be home to some rough characters, so if you choose this location, don t stay out until the wee hours of the morning drinking. You want to be sober and travel during the height of normal business hours of about 7:00 am to about 9:00 pm for this area to work best. From Long Island City, Manhattan is no more than 1 stop away.I am posting a link to an article about the New York Public Transportation system:http://www.associatedcontent.com/article

there are quite a few sites that you can search that will likely show you great hotels at the best prices available. check out the website BookMe and you will be able to compare prices on all the reputable travel sites in just a couple minutes. it s very convenient and will save you a bunch of time and money. Also, make sure you buy them online... otherwise they charge much higher fees for phone orders. good luck.

I searched on this site and got the Cheapest Hotel, check it out,it also had discount coupon codes for expedia,orbitz,travelocity,kayak,pricelihttp://freetravel4ever.blogspot.com

Universal and i.o.a on wed or friday? -

my daughter has off wed, thrus and friday from school for the thansgiving vacation and i would like to take her and her 3 yr old brother to universal and islands of adventure either wed or friday...will it be crazy busy?

I am a season pass holder for the parks. I have learned from experimenting with different days that Tuesday and Wednesday are the least crowded days. I recommend going on Wednesday.

I live in Orlando and i go there all the time i would recommend going on Wednesday. I went last Wednesday and there was not many people there and all the lines were less then 15 minutes,, some where even a 5 minute wait. It gets supper crowded on Friday and Saturday

definitely go on wed cuz that is a major driving day so not quite as many people will be in the parks.
