No, when I talk to people from Grand Rapids, they either want to go to Chicago or Detroit but there! So I wouldnt ride it, but i am sure the train service will be helpful to people from Grand Rapids.
I think you an excellent idea personally and, if I still lived in Michigan and, they did that, I would probably find myself riding a train from Detroit to Grand Rapids every so often. Not to mention it would be great for those who live in the Detroit area and, commute back and forth to Lansing all the time and vice versa.
No - I have no reason to go there. However, I have an issue with train service in MI. The problem is we have little or no infastructure to facilitate travel to and from a train station. That is, while I LOVE trains, say I take one to GR. Then what? I can walk or call a cab. Taxis can be costly and are not widely used at this time. So if we have trains we need to have better connection options.
probably notI have no reason to visit Grand Rapids
Michigan is planning to make a commuter train from Ann Arbor to Detroit and vice versa, that would be nice. As for Grand Rapids, only people from Grand Rapids would benefit from that, Detroit is the main biggest city in all of Michigan, everything happens if its going to happen in the city of Detroit. So there really is no incentive for people to travel to Grand Rapids, but there should be a faster rapid train system between Detroit and Chicago and even Detroit and New York City, which would be great.Honestly though, Michigan might as well have the best highway system in the whole country, I traveled around a lot by car, and Michigan by far has a very nicely patterned highway, especially around Detroit, probably why the city is the Motor City. But even if there was a train to Grand Rapids, I would rather just drive.
