Texas, Galvestonnnnn? -

What is it like? Im going there. Is it rainy usually? Fun, boring, ect. Any info

When are you going? That makes a huge difference in our answers for the weather. Galveston is as fun as you make it. You ll find people on here who hate it and think it s trashy and dirty, but personally I love it. But that s because I m not afraid of people who are different than me or who come from different socioeconomic backgrounds. There s plenty to do if you like history, good stories, and tradition, but not so much if you like big box store shopping. There are tons of restaurants of nearly every ethnicity (we re severely lacking in Indian and Thai food though). There are theaters and small, unique shops, and of course the beach. If you re coming this weekend, Dickens on the Strand is a fun festival with parades, food, arts crafts vendors, and entertainment. If you come any other time during the holiday season, check out the festival of lights at Moody Gardens. It s cheap and really really beautiful. Dress warmly if the weather calls for cool temps. The wind howls down here most of the time and it feels much colder than it really is. Have fun on your trip!

Dickens on the Strand should be going on and it s always fun.http://www.galvestonhistory.org/Dickens_Hear Ye! Hear Ye! Be it decreed that all lords, ladies and children shall come and celebrate the 36th Annual Dickens on The Strand, a holiday festival, where bobbies, Beefeaters and the Queen herself will be on hand to recreate the Victorian London of Charles Dickens. Characters from Dickens novels walk the street. Food and entertainment fill the area with sights and smells that take you back to another era.

The Gulf Coast of Texas is a very nice place in my opinion. Big empty beaches that go on forever. Great food and the nicest people I ve ever met. I used to live in Corpus Christi and I cant wait to move back to the beach

It s not usually rainy in Galveston. Right now it could be windy and chilly though.

Depends on when you go. Christmas is a perfect time. It s always decorated nice.

I like ck answer... :]

Is this really overstay? -

i met a friend and this was her case. she left for the states for a tourist visa last 2007 she stayed there for 6 mos from april 19, 2007- october 19, 2007. she left america october 19, 2007, . She arrived at her country dated october 21, 2007 because their country was one day advance. When she decided to go back for another vacation last 2008, hawaii USCIS (where her point of entry was)held her for having an overstay for a day or two, as what the immigration officer told her, the last time she left for US year 2007. Her visa was also cancelled.although, they let her enter the mainland for a month, they still held her passport containing her visa. any comments about this because i pity my friend for having suffered that kind of treatment in hawaii.

If she arrived US on Apr 19th, she should have left US by Oct 18th, otherwise it would be considered overstay, but there is no law against those overstay less than 180 days, they may give her a warning.

Even one day too many is overstay , and the immigration authorities have no discretion in the matter.

Are fences prohibited in Cuyahoga County? -

I m moving to the Cleveland area in a few months and am looking at homes in Maple Heights, Cleveland Heights, and Euclid (amongst a couple of other areas), and it seems like none of the houses I am finding have fences. I will really want to erect a fence around my back yard as I have a very young son, but I m worried fences might be illegal there as literally no one has one. Does anyone know more about this? I m very interested in the communities mentioned above, plus Bedford, Bedford Heights, Garfield Heights, and Shaker Heights.

The county doesn t prohibit fences, but certain subdivisions might have restrictions. A building permit is probably required in some of those suburbs, but it s no big deal to get one. This assumes you re only talking about a 6 ft. tall fence. Higher than that could be a problem. For example, my neighbor just put up a new 6 ft. fence and had to get our Home Owners Association board to sign off approving it before the City of Strongsville would give her a building permit. But it only cost $30 and a couple phone calls and meetings. BTW, it looks very nice and she wanted it because of her grandkids!

You can put fences up. My Uncle lives in Garfield Hts and put a fence in his back yard. I live in Cleveland Hts. and we put a fence up in our back yard. You just have to make sure you re putting it up on your property and not your neighbors.

The best is1972 Miami Dolphins? -

Until another NFL team can win every game played in a season, including the playoffs, and the Super Bowl, then the 1972 Miami Dolphins are the kings of professional football.

I am 50 and watched almost every game. It was something to see. They were a great team. IT was an enjoyable time to watch football on TV.

What is the only NFL team to have a perfect record 17-0....

nelson, do you live in west palm beach?

Can i write a visa invitation letter to my mother to visit me in US as I am on J1 visa? -

I am currently on J1 visa , residing in baltimore. I wanna invite my mother to visit me for one month. she is a iranian resident . Will the US embassy accept if i send a invitation letter to her to get US Visa or Do i need to be a permanent resident/citizenship of US to do so??

You can write it stating that she can stay with you during her visit. However, those letters do not help much and are often totally ignored. She needs to apply for a B-2 tourist visa and must show that she has compelling reasons to return to her home...that is what the visa officer really wants to see. Since there is no U.S embassy in Iran , she will have to go through the embassy in Jordan or Syria.

Go on USCIS.gov website and see what they have to say about it. They also have a hotline where they can answer any of yoru questions. All the best!
