Booked a cruise leaving from Miami, but am flying to Fort Lauderdale late evening the day before.? -

Should I go to Miami that night or spend the night in Fort Lauderdale. And what is the best transportation to get to Miami? Totally at a loss on how to plan, reserve transportation. Thanks!

Check out the site:http://www.goairportflorida.comThey have a special deal on their site for cruise-goers ($21.00/pp from the Lauderdale airport to the Port of Miami). They will also take you from Lauderdale airport to the hotel of your choice in Miami/South Beach for a fee; again, I believe you can click on the hotel you choose and it will give you their exact fee to that location). I have used this service to take me from the airport in Lauderdale to a hotel on Ocean Drive, South Beach, and found it very convenient and expedient. When I booked them online, I had the option of making a reservation for just myself or opting in on a vehicle with other passengers being dropped at other Miami destinations (I chose the latter, as it was cheaper, and it was still just under an hour from FLL to my hotel in South Beach.)

There are many hotels right next to Fort Lauderdale airport, so if you re arriving late and just want to get to your room then it s best to stay there. When you check in, you can ask the concierge to arrange your travel for you the next day and he will sort it all out for you.Might also be worthwhile calling ahead once you book your room and see if they can prepare it, then they could have tickets ready when you turn up.Much better than doing it yourself.

I m guessing you are not going to have your own car when you get to Florida, so the best thing for you to do would be to go to Miami that night. If you stay in Ft. Lauderdale that night, you would have to wake up extremely early to make it to Miami in time, it takes at least one hour to get to Miami from Ft. Lauderdale, and if there s more traffic than usual, than even longer. Also, the only way to get to Miami from Ft. Lauderdale is by taxi and that s really expensive, I m not sure if there s any other way, I mean I know you can take the bus, but I know it takes more than one bus to get to Miami from Ft. Lauderdale. Also, it would be wake up, and leave, but if you stay in Miami, and I m pretty sure your cruise is in the port of Miami, which is IN Miami, you can wake up, and enjoy some of the wonders in Miami, and still make it to your cruise on time, and when you come back, if you are still in Florida, you can enjoy more of the wonders that can only be found in Miami, wether its the legendary beaches, the jewelery district, arts, restaurants, bars, clubs, anything that is only found in Miami. Ft. Lauderdale doesn t have anything, it s just suburbs and for old people. It just has beaches but the beaches there are nothing compared to the beaches in Miami. Also, from your hotel in Miami you can take just ONE bus, or take a cab for a little amount of money. And I think there s transportation specifically for cruises in Miami. You won t have to plan anything if you stay in Miami because everything is in Miami and made really easy. Enjoy Miami and your cruise.

Suggest you get transport from FLL to a hotel near the port in downtown Miami. Then you won t have time pressure on departure day there s plenty to do see within walking distance downtownCab from FLL will run about $80 per cab + tip. See dispatcher outside arrivals. There is a contract shared ride van service at the airport -- GO Airport Shuttle (formerly known as Tri County Airport Express). You can find the GO van on the lower level outside of each baggage claim area. Their customer service reps wear a white shirt with GO AIRPORT SHUTTLE on the back. They have reps on duty until about 1:00 am. They are currently advertising $21.00 to SoBe or Port of Miami. $20 to MIA. about same to downtown Miami. It may take you longer to get to your destination than it would take in a taxi or reserved van because you have to wait (up to 1/2 hr) for them to fill up then while other passengers are dropped off on the way. For 4 or more together the cab is a probably a better deal.GO Airport Shuttle Contact Information: 954-561-8888 or 1-800-244-8252; or floridalimo.com. Why would fly to Ft Lauderdale the day before you leave out of Miami?

Where should quot;20 somethingsquot; live in Cleveland if they are new to the state/area? -

My boyfriend and I are moving to Cleveland and do not know where to live. We are both very active, artsy and total foodies. We are coming from Chicago, so we are hoping to find that kind of neighborhood/city vibe. Is there anything like it in Cleveland? We will be working downtown basically, so we were thinking a loft or something, but it doesn t have to be. We just want to be somewhere nice, with a Main Street for shopping/food/social life/stuff to do and see. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Four areas you should consider if you want to be relatively close to work are the Warehouse District, East 4th St., Tremont, and Lakewood. They are listed in no particular order, because much would depend on what type of residence you seek and how much you are willing to pay.Downtown isn t the same as the University Circle area, so if you re working at the Cleveland Clinic, Case Western Reserve, etc., you might want to consider different areas, such as Little Italy or Coventry in Cleveland Heights. The Warehouse District and East 4th Street are downtown residential centers relatively close to each other. Both are foodie centers with some art galleries in the Warehouse District. They are the center of Cleveland s club scene and offer easy access to Cleveland s performing arts center at Playhouse Square and to the cultural center at University Circle (Healthline bus rapid transit).http://www.warehousedistrict.org/districhttp://www.nytimes.com/2009/07/08/realeshttp://www.east4thstreet.com/home.phpTremont is both a foodie center and arts center with many galleries. It doesn t offer the relatively immediate access afforded to downtown residents to free downtown trolleys and other downtown mass transit options. Tremont, however, is very close to downtown.http://www.restoretremont.com/Tremont and downtown residences have easy access to the West Side Market, frequented by serious foodies. It s located near the W. 25th rail rapid station.http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserRevieLakewood is an adjacent suburb to Cleveland, a very short commute, with good mass transit connections. It is the home of Cleveland s Gold Coast high-rise condominiums. Lakewood has good restaurants and very good athletic facilities and parks. It also is an arts center compared to most Cleveland suburbs.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lakewood_GoIf you re physically active and would like to live near one of the Cleveland s area s excellent metro parks, you re living choices also might be different. E.g., living closer to the Cleveland Metropark Rocky River Reservation might cause you to consider Rocky River, one of Cleveland s top-rated suburbs but a longer, although still very reasonable, commute to downtown.Given your desire for a Main Street environment, you might want to investigate the Crocker Park mixed use development in Westlake.http://www.crockerpark.com/Read through Cleveland resolved questions for much more on these areas and other Cleveland living options.BOL on your relocation to Cleveland!

If you are looking for some fun things to do, come to Sandusky. We are an hour from down town Cleveland. We have a great Amusement Park, an awesome haunted house open all year long, islands and much more. Put in Bay Island is always happening especially in the summer. Below are some websites to visit. Good luck in house hunting. http://www.ghostlymanor.com/http://www.cedarpoint.com/http://www.shoresandislands.com/

Your best bet is to move in the Warehouse district, every thing you want is there, plus it is downtown

Tremont, all the way!

My boyfriends from ohio and took a plane to california last week, he ended up losing his id in cali? -

my boyfriends from ohio and took a plane to california last week, he ended up losing his id in cali, i know america airlines require photo id but do you think he can get back to ohio without a photo id? im sending his birth certificate to him

People lose their I.D. all the time...and the airlines cope with it. they will accept alternative I.d. like S.S. card. credit cards. See site below...he will be ok...they may put him through an extra security check, but it will be ok. Tons of people have this problem and the airlines manage to help them.

yes, he must go to airline front desk at least 2 hr before departure and have some identification ready( such as birth certification , passport ,school ID, temporary license, old license copy...) to get a sticker passing though security check

Read this article: towards the bottom it talks about what happens if you lose your ID in the US. The first part is talking about if you are out of the country.http://www.fodors.com/news/story_928.htm

What is the sunniest part of Oahu, Hawaii? -

I m looking to visit Hawaii, and I m interested in visiting Oahu because it s the most populated. Based on looking at some pictures of Hawaii, it appears some areas are very grey and cloudy. I d like to find an area that s beautiful and sunny (and populated). Does Honolulu have lots of sun or grey/clouds often?

The Windward side of of the island (Waimanalo to Kahuku) is considered the wet side. The easterly trade winds bring in clouds that get trapped along the mountains. During the summer months, it may not rain every day, but we will have a lot of what the weather people call scattered clouds. Central Oahu (Mililani and Wahiawa) is also an area that tends to be wetter. Honolulu is an area that has more sun, especially in the summer months. The west side of the island (Kapolei to Makaha) is the dry side of the island. The Kapolei-Makakilo is suburban, where Nanakuli to Makaha is a lot less crowded, but not rural. Link for reference map:http://maps.google.com/If you are Looking for city attractions, definitely stick to the Honolulu-Waikiki-East Oahu areas. If you have the extra to spend, and want a get-away that isn t isolated, The Marriot at Ko olina is on the west side, and I hear it is beautiful. Hope this information was helpful.

Florida or new york which is best? -

I may be going holiday soon to america and these are our to possible destinations, we like florida due to the warmth, and new york because it y know new york...but which would be best for two cultured adults and a 15 yr old girl..?don t say either because you live there tell us honestly since were coming from england and we don t wanna be disappointed.

What time of year are you going Winter Florida Summer NYC Both have lots to do for anyone. New York has lots of cultural amenities, that being said, Florida has plenty of it s own, however, they are spread out across a large state. Florida has it s beaches, but NYC is close to Fire Island, which has great beaches too, but it is only warm enough for swimming from June to September

Florida is warm but also very humid. If youre going in the winter, it is more bearable. Although, there is nothing like Christmas in NYC.Ive noticed that people in the UK only know about 3 places in the US to visit, while there s a lot of great areas to travel to, in the US.Ive been to both, and would pick neither in all reality. If you go to Florida, you have the theme parks and the beach. If you go to NYC, you have mostly walking around and viewing the city..which will leave you in awe. Museums, Shows, Shopping. Since you say, cultured adults , Im thinking NYC rather than sliding down Splash Mountain at DisneyWorld. Two very different kinds of vacations. Florida - FunNYC - Growing experience

I live in Miami. There s so much to do and you can always go to the beach. New York is overrated.

New York... because well... Florida = lame

NEW YORK CITY!!!!big time, way better, been to both many times
