What would be a good reason to move to NYC? -

Tons of job and opportunities, and the education is great, we have some of the best education policies in the US, also we have the most Specialized High Schools in the entire country.

JOBS. there are tons of job opportunities. if you have a degree, you can get a job. if you dont have a degree, ...u can still get a job. hahaha. FOOOD. tons of food. all different types of food. PEOPLE. all different types of people from different cultures and backgrounds. i love new york. the parades, the parties.. the transportation. you dont need a freekin car to get around. i mean, you can have one, but if you dont have a car, guess what? its not the end of the world. thousands of people take the mass transit system. and dont be scared to walk through the other boroughs..other than manhattan. manhattan is beautiful, but if you want a taste of different cultures, go to brooklyn also..i cant speak for queens or bronx etc. im a brooklyn and manhattan person. but NYC is great.. ---the only con i can think of is that rent is freekin HIGH. 800 dollars for a studio!!! 2 bedroom? umm that would be about 1000 or higher.. so yea.... i dont know about that.. but other than that its pretty cool. =)

just the overall convenience of being in a city, and the resources one can find there.

you ll have a variety of EVERYTHiNG !

FOR THE NEW YORK GIANTS BABY!!!!!!!!!

No clue! West? Southside?....? -

Can somebdoy explain this to me? What do people mean when they re talking about the Westside, Southside, East, and Northside? For example, Logan Square...I have no idea what side that s on.I plan on moving there in a few months and I m trying to learn this stuff, so please help. What s on...1) the Westside2) Southside3) Northside4) East

The city center is at State Madison. Everything increases and decreases from there, north, south east and west. Logan square would be northwest and can be a very dangerous place in certain sections. You should get guidance from either a realtor (if you ll be buying a house) or an apartment locator for help in picking out a neighborhood. Most newcomers live in the near north, Lincon Park or Lakeview neighborhoods.

The west side is basically everything west of western, north of the Eisenhower expressway, and south of diversey, south side is everything south of roosevelt. and the northside is everything else. Since Chicago has a lake to the east, the east side is almost never talked about but it s everything east of stony island. But the west side is disputed confusing and confusing, the lower west side http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lower_West_ is often called the south side and sometimes called the west side, Lawndale is usually considered the west side but has streets south of roosevelt. Well I just remembered, here s a map that makes it a lot easier http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:ChicagBut I ve never heard anyone say central it s downtown or the loop.

the west side is low income.the southside is low income.the northside is sexually confused and yuppified. and crowded, the east side is so hidden, no one knows.

Below is a site with all Chicago neighborhoods listed on 5 maps. Some people consider some of the near south ones as west side but you ll find what you want on maps:http://www.dreamtown.com/maps/chicago-ne

How the Hell can I get to Ithaca NY? Revamped? -

I live in Vancouver right now and theres no way in hell my parents would even think about letting me go but this is a once in a lifetime opportunity at an lvy league school with free tuition (assuming I make the team). should i just leave and call them once I m there or should i risk asking them since if they say no they ll know Im trying to get outKeep in mind that my parents are narrowminded african immigrants that have no problem beating me if they don t like what they hear lolI m actually attending a basketball camp that I was invited to by the coaches. Don t have a passport or anything and I have no idea about how I m gonna make it there but if I do, theres probalay a 90% chance I l make it and gain entrance. Student Visa? No idea how to go about any of this please help!!!

Well, first you ll need a passport. Don t know whether you need a visa. But info about passports would be at the Canadian government s official website, I would guess - unless you re talking about Vancouver, Washington, in which case you d go to your local post office. The US State Department s website has info on entrance requirements for the US. Or, perhaps the camp you re thinking about attending has info about that.To get to Ithaca, you d need to fly into Syracuse and then have a way to get down to Ithaca. The camp may provide transportation. You d need a way to pay for air fare, of course. If you re under 18, you probably can t travel without your parents permission.Hopefully, you can convince your parents that this is a wonderful opportunity for you to get an education at a first-rate university. Perhaps your high school coach or a teacher or counselor at your school can talk with them and explain things. Or a minister at your church, if that is an option.Good luck to you. I hope you get to attend the camp and get to attend Cornell.

Sounds like you are stuck in hell. You need a passport to even visit the US.

Im expected to go training in Houston,Texas from February 2010 till end April. What is the expected climate? -

What clothes should I bring? Will it be cold there? Or hot? I m from Malaysia and this will be my first time in the states.

Comfortable enough. A light jacket, a scarf (for those one or two cold days), and a pair of light gloves will take care of any chilly weather.Daily high temperatures in Houston are between 60 and 65 degrees F (15 and 18C) and overnight lows are between 45 and 50 degrees F (7 and 10C). It will be cooler than you are used to, but far from cold.

actually in houston the temp. is really random.. one day it could be hot and then next be so cold... there was one day that it was in the 90 s and suddenly in mid day it dropped to the 50 s... be prepared to get sick if your body isn t use to weather changing so fast... so have enough medication too Report Abuse

The average temp in February is around 65. Each month after that you can expect a 5 to 10 degree temperature increase By the time you leave in April the temperature will probably be high 70 s to low 80 s

compared to Malaysia, it s chilly and warm. Malaysia never gets that chilly. bring jacket for sure. i remember last April i still use heated blanket for sleeping. maybe between 60 to 80 F.

Bring clothing for warm cool weather. It can get as warm as 85 in March as cool as 45-50F
