I turned 21 two weeks ago but my permit still says UNDER 21. Will I be allowed to order drinks in Vegas? -

I just got to Vegas yesterday and I ve been holding off on ordering drinks because my permit still says UNDER 21. I m just scared that the bartenders won t allow me to order drinks because of the UNDER 21 bar. Two weeks ago (back home), I tried ordering drinks from this restaurant and they refused to service me because my ID said UNDER 21 although it was the day after my birthday. So here I am, in Vegas.. and still haven t ordered my first drink yet. I came here with my fiance and although he s over 21, he doesn t have a valid Driver s License. He renewed his license a month ago and he still hasn t recieved it in the mail. There was nothing we could do to speed up the process and get the license in time for this trip... so here we are, in Vegas and both so miserable. Haven t even had our first drinks yet.

I can t see why you can t get drinks if your birthday is on the permit.

Can a restaurant refuse to serve me alcohol the day after my 21st ...1 Dec 2009 ... Most bars will be glad to give you a free drink on your birthday, ... Good luck and have a blast in Vegas!!! 2 weeks ago ... True they may reserve the right to not serve you, but based solely on the fact that your ID says Under 21 ... You are supposed to go and get a new ID when you turn 21. ..

I would go ahead and order drinks. That place is so busy they prob wont but glance at the I.D.Surely your I.D. has your birth date on it. Just explain to the waitress the situation. Didn t you discuss this with the B.M.V. before leaving? If you flew to vegas what did you use for I.D to get on the plane?

Nope. 21 is the hard and fast rule. I have an alachol awareness card, and the fine for me and my company is not worth the risk. YOu will be asked for ID and you will be rejected.

It should say Under 21 Until followed by the date you turned 21.Don t worry, mine said it until I was 24, since I renewed mine on my 20th birthday. Never had any problems.

A permit is temporary and drinking requires a valid driver s license or passport, both with a picture of you. Sorry

It seems to me that if you ID is not expired, and your past your 21st birthday, they should let you have drinks.

first you wil need a picture id yo get servedand they also can refuse to serve you for any reason

The only thing that matters on your ID is your birthdate. That is what they look at. This is very common here as so many people come here to celebrate their 21st birthday. Plus this new system is country wide so it happens on a regular basis. Just go and do it. Besides, you were given your paper to inform anyone that you have applied for your new License. They should have also punched a hole in it to tell who ever looks at it that they have to look at it closely for various reasons.
