What theme park in Orlando would you recomend for adults? -

My husband and I are thinking about taking a vacation to Orlando we are in our early twenties. I don t think I want to go to disney but they have the other theme parks there too, Which ones should we go to? We love roller coasters!

Seaworld is so nice they just came out with the best roller coaster it s called the Manta and it s so fun! You can get a deal on theme parks so look at that and go to Universal as well!

First of all you can never go wrong with Disney, and are never too old. If you don t something to kiddyfied Epcot and Hollywood Studios have more adult rides and activities. IF you re till not interested, Universal Studios has two great parks that have lots to do for adults. If you want a lot of roller coasters, then this is your place. Sea World is AWESOME!!!!! Okay, I am a little biased on this one because I love marine animals and want to work there when I m older. However, it truly is a great park. Manta is a very thrilling roller coaster, but there is less to do other than animal exhibits than other parks. Whichever you choose I greatly enjoyed all of them. :)

roller coasters you love? hmm....well, universal studios is a great thrill park, (and cheaper!) it has two theme parks, their rollercoasters are the hulk, spiderman, (a 3-D thrill ride that is LIKE a coaster) dueling dragons, revenge of the mummy, woody woodpecker s nuthouse coaster, (:D) and i think this closed: the flying unicorn.but... Disney world is BETTER THEMED! Magic Kingdom: you have Space Mountain, a high speed rough, bumpy rollercoaster! but, you really feel like you are in space!Big thunder mountain railroad, you re going thrue caves and stuff that is fun!but don t forget, universal s the mummy is a nicely done themed rollercoaster. the hulk has gravity effects.but so does the rockin roller coaster at hollywood studios. epcot has a really cool coaster called, Test Track. you are going thru the tests of what they do to cars.oh, but NOTHING can top disney s animal kingdom, Mount Everest! you go backwards, REALLY steep slopes, and your track gets ripped up by a big yeti!at universal s islands of adventure, the simpson s ride is a huge hit! a simulator ride with a HUGE imax screen in front of you. and you are riding a coaster while it is being demolished.sea world offers Manta, (you get a little wet, but no theme) and the kracken, (also not themed.)now if you love dark rides, disney world is best for that! snow white, imagination, pooh bear, peter pan, all of those! and some animatronic shows such as: the country bear jamboree, the tiki room, the great american adventure.universal has some dark rides as well, but not as updated, you have the cat in the hat, spiderman, E.T., and you can see barney if you want! :)but Disney tops it all tho. if you want a mixture of dark rides, meet and greets, coasters, great dining, thrills, animatronic shows, and a magical day, go to disney.if you want coasters, thrills, a little bit of dark rides, and barney, go to universal studios.if you want shows, coasters, and shamu, go to sea world.if you want boredome, go to the beach.oh, and one more coaster at universal, the hollywood rip ride rockit thing. listen to music of your choice while you ride. enjoy the fun!

I would highly recommend Universal Studios for you guys. It has roller coasters and thrill rides. I loved it. Universal Studios has 2 parks just to let you know. They are:Universal StudiosIslands Of AdventuresFor roller coaster fans, Islands Of Adventures is the BEST!! If you are going to Orlando, definitely go to Universal Studios.

Orlando is a great place to go (I Live There For 6 months every Year) i would recimen Universal Studios they have some great ones and roller coasters, they are also extending the park last i was there (5 months ago) they were almost done with a new roller coaster. But you have to be willing to spend some money, for the quick line past thingy so you dint have to wait that longDisney World is real boring, unless you want to spend Alto of money

Disney s great if you ve never been, if you just love the characters/movies, or if you have kids. Other than that, it s not a thrilling place to go. If you like thrills, Universal s two parks (Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure) are great! Both parks have 2 roller coasters!BUT, I still prefer SeaWorld s parks. I m in my twenties, too! I am very impatient, so when I wait in line after line for the next ride, it drives me NUTS! Universal s parks require waiting for everything!SeaWorld has lots of shows, so the crowds tend to disperse more and I don t have to wait in line as much. Although, I ve learned that you should ride the most popular ride first thing in the morning before the park gets busy if you want to avoid the lines! It may sound boring, but they have 4 different rides: Manta (flying coaster where you lay on your stomach), Kraken (roller coaster with 7 inversions), Wild Artic (simulation ride), and Journey to Atlantis (water coaster). Plus, the shows are entertaining and gets you out of the the HEAT for a short time. Plus, who can resist the animals!?Aquatica is SeaWorld s water park. It definitely has a bit of something for everyone - lazy river and fast river, big wave pool and little wave pool, large kid s play area, slides for everyone and slides for couples. Plus, I think they are running a ticket deal for both parks right now that s really great!!Discovery Cove is another story in itself! It may not be your cup of tea if you like thrills, but it is just an amazing getaway experience!! This park is reservation-only, so book early if you plan to visit! They only allow a certain number of people into the park each day, so it s very quiet and relaxing when you re there. There are two different prices: one WITH a dolphin interaction and one WITHOUT. The dolphin interaction is 30 min. in the water with the dolphin with a small group of other people where you get to touch, feed, and ride the dolphin!! The rest of the park includes a tropical free flight aviary (where the birds land on you and you can feed them), a stingray lagoon (where you can get in the water with stingrays - no stinger, of course), a tropical reef (thousands of different species of fish and rays - sharks and barracuda are behind glass for underwater viewing), a resort pool, and a lazy river. What s fantastic about this park is that everything is ALL-INCLUSIVE!! That means that you can eat, drink (non-alcoholic beverages), and enjoy your day without pulling out your wallet!! The bathrooms include shampoo, conditioner, and body wash from Crabtree and Evelyn, plus towels for use throughout the day and hair dryers!!! They even provide masks and snorkels, animal-safe sunscreen, and wetsuits (or vests)!!! I just had the best experience while I was there and HIGHLY recommend it to ANYONE!! Plus, you get admission to SeaWorld, Busch Gardens, or Aquatica for FREE for one week before or after your visit to Discovery Cove!!! What more could you ask for???Anywhere you decide to go should be a blast!! So, enjoy your holiday in Orlando!!!

The Holy Land Experience! The official Christian theme park for Bible lovers! Seriously though, Universal Studios is your best bet. Otherwise, I suggest catching a bus to Tampa and visiting Busch Gardens.. You get to go through a beer factor tour, experience free beer taste testing, ride on roller coasters, and over look wild African animals... It s a great park for adults!

Universal Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios are best for the roller coasters.Studios has the new Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit which has a vertical lift hill and worlds first non-inverted loop which will keep you upright at the top of the loop.Islands of Adventure has The Hulk and Dueling Dragons which are awesome coasters (though think Dueling Dragons will be closed at some point as it needs to be repainted with the launch of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter).SeaWorld has 2 coasters which are worth checking out. Manta is a flying coaster and one of my favorites is Kracken which is a floorless coaster. For coaster reviews and videos you can check this sitehttp://orlandorollercoaster.com/Have fun :)

Definitely you must try both Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. They both are fun and with lots of rollercoasters. Also, don t just focus on the big theme parks, there are other small attraction near by where you can have just as much fun. I love Fun Spot where you can do go kart racing and other things. Have you booked your hotel yet? If not a site you can try is condodirect.com there you can find a nice 2 bdrm hotel room with jacuzzi, kitchen, etc for about $54 per night. I just booked mine there and was pleasantly surprised about the costs.....

Epcot! (its awesome and its more for adults than kids anyway)Universal studios- Islands of Adventure (for the roller coasters)Sea world

You re better off going to Six Flags if you enjoy roller coasters. Disney is over-priced, over-rated, and over-crowded.

Universal Studios and Island of Adventure it for adults and you could also try the strip at night where all the clubs are it;s fun Good Luck

Universal Studios is fun. They have a couple of good roller coasters.I had such a good time - I m 25

My husband and I went to Epcot for our 25th anniversary, so that s my recommendation~

Busch Gardens

I want to go to Louisiana but...? -

Hi. I have some questions about flying and what not.Can anyone give me a estimation about how much it would cost (the cheapest please) to fly from Cincinnati, Ohio to Morgan City, Louisiana? [round trip]Also, what is the policy about minors flying ALONE? (im 14)thank you so much in advance!!!!

Plane ticket prices are very subjective based on many factors like when you want to fly, layover options, airline, etc... If you want to get an idea about prices, you can check Orbitz or Expedia that give you the prices for several airlines but I find it s always cheaper to go directly to the airlines web site.As for the unaccompanied minor, those rules and additional fees are different for each airline so you would have to check when you decide on an airline.

Cirque du Soleil.Worth seeing? -

Definitely.I was dragged along to see them in Bilbao a couple of years ago and I was unexpectedly fascinated. The music, the costumes and the acrobatics are spectacular.

Yes, I have seen two of their shows, and I enjoyed both experiences. Last year, I saw Mystere at Treasure Island. Earlier this year, I saw Love at The Mirage. Both shows were wonderful.

Yes, they re very good. But read the reviews. Some shows are more about artistry, and some are more based on high flying stunts, so you should pick one that fits what you re going for.

Oiu, si,ya, da, yes, absolutament, definita-ment, fantast-ament, ..so...yes olay,si soleil, go see solay... circue du soleilDon t try it at home...wizards at it, they are.Soooooopeeeeerb-ament!

No! It is nowhere NEAR as good as our show was!

Oh yes, there are about 6-7 in Vegas, I like The Beatles LOVE at the Mirage

Definitely YES.

o yeah....lot at the show: O - its a #1 show.

For sure. There are six shows but Mystere and Love are the best

Which has a better Chinatown, NYC or Boston? Also, which would be cheaper, and safer? -

Chinatown NYC is much larger than Chinatown Boston. Our Chinatown is about 8 blocks and is mixed asian at this point. NYC Chinatown has over 200 restaurants: Boston s maybe a dozen or so. I think there s only one herbal shop in Boston s Chinatown. Many of the traditional Chinese have moved south to Quincy. Chinatown Boston s best thing going for it? It s here. Easily accessible. Fun for an afternoon. But if you are a tourist looking to visit, Manhattan s Chinatown (or San Francisco s) are much better. Safe and cheap? It s a city.

New York by far. However, you should also be aware that New York has 3 large Chinatowns: the original in lower Manhattan and now 2 more in Queens even larger.

yeah, in Boston, a lot of the Chinese moved out and it s disperse.

Traveling every week by air from NY to Detroit any coupons or special offers? -

I am a frequent traveler, and I would like to know if there are any special offers, or coupons for me to use for one year, since I travel every week to Detroit from NY?I would really like to know since I need to save a lot of money.Thank you

The only thing I can think of is joining your airline s frequent flier program. I m sure you can rack up lots of free points (and free flights) quickly, if you fly weekly.

Any nude beaches near New Port Richey / Tampa, FL? -

Not a beach, but Caliente resort is in the Tampa area. It s nice, and you don t have to worry about gawkers.http://calienteresorts.com/tampa/

Haulover Beach is a legal nude beach in Miami. As the other writer said, nudist resorts are better than no beaches as no gawkers like at beaches. The best nudist resorts are located in Palm Springs, California because it is the sunniest city in the US and Florida

What are some fun things to do in Boston for little to no money spent? -

Hi. I live in a suburb of Boston.I am 12 years old. I love going into Boston. My parents both work in Boston in the back bay area.My parents don t always want to take me in because we usually end up spending too much money on dinner, transportation(usually I get a charlie card), sometimes we end up shopping and it costs too much, etc. What are some fun things to do on weekends that don t cost anything or that don t cost much? I am not looking for things that you have to have a coupon or have to be a member of something. Thanks, lots o luv, frez

Winter sort of cuts the free stuff way down. In the summer, there are free concerts, movies, street performers at Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market, the parks are open, etc. You can take a ferry out to Georges Island (where there s a haunted Civil War fort) and other harbor islands, one with swimming. Winter everyone hunkers down inside. Free in winter:Bunker Hill MonumentUSS Constitution and the USS Cassin Young Boston Public LibraryState HouseFirst Night Boston on New Year s Eve. Many free events. http://www.firstnight.org/Low cost:Ice skating on the Frog Pond (Boston Common) Under 13 is free, $4 otherwise. (Plus skate rental if you need to.) http://www.bostoncommonfrogpond.org/hourGet a digital camera and learn to take interesting photos of the city. (Cemetaries and statues look cool in the snow.) Festivals start in the spring. There s the Dragon Boat Festival, Lilac Sunday at the Arboretum, feasts in the North End, etc. Have your parents bring home an Improper Bostonian and a Boston Parent s Paper which both list events. Check Boston Central. http://www.bostoncentral.com/events.phpThe Museum of Fine Arts has a free weekend day every month. Check your local library for museum passes. (BEST deal around!) As an example, check out the ones at the Newton library: http://www.newtonfreelibrary.net/?sec=seCheap places to eat: Chinatown, Quincy Market Food Court, Prudential Food Court. Pizza, Mexican, Chinese, and Thai places are cheap. Anywhere students hang out has cheap food.

I don t know if you have to have a library card but the libraries have deeply discounted and free passes to tons of the museums, it s kind of a coupon but not really. You can pick them up at different branches and they have more info about it at the city of boston website.

Museums, lots of Museums: The MFA (art) Isabella Stuart Gardner (art) ICA (art) The Aquarium, The Science Museum, Harvard and MIT museums, not to mention all the Historical sites; sites along the Freedom Trail, John Adams HouseVisit the Harbor Islands, Blue Hills State reservationshopping, lots of shopping in Quincy Market, Newbury Street or Harvard Square in Cambridge, also visit the insanely overpriced Copley Place Mall (look, don t buy anything) Go to the top of the Prudential Tower for a great view

What is it like living in Portland, OR? -

The Weather?

It would help to know where you are coming from to get a sense of the difference it will be for you.The weather concerns were totally overrated for me. The weather doesn t bother me at all, and I appreciate the change of seasons--since I lived in Southern California prior. The coast is quite a drive from Portland--about 80 miles to the nearest beach. And it s unlike a warm-weather beach envirornment. Cold water and usually cloudy. Nice scenery of course, but between you and me, Northern Californian coastline is more scenic.Downtown Portland is great compared to most cities. It is very active and lively with a decent mix of things to do and styles. The city as a whole isn t so mixed, and it also suffers from a bit of an identity crisis. It s a large city, but don t try telling the locals that. It still has a small town mentality. That might seem charming, but it s not. There can be a lot of closemindedness. You ll hear reports that Portland is so progressive and accepting and diverse, but if you come from a large city, you won t see it. Underneath the facade, it s fairly provincial. They tend not to llike outsiders here, and the entire state seems to suffer from an attitude that they live in the best place in the country. They don t understand why anyone would want to live anywhere else, but at the same time, resent those who move in because they ruin it. Portland, and Oregon as a whole, spends a lot of time patting itself on the back, when they could be spending more time figuring out why heaven on earth has a lousy economy, extreme unemployment, and can t attract profitable businesses.

wow! im so glad somebody said this!! I ve been here for close to nine years and its this very reason i m excited to soon be getting the heeezzz out!!! (otherwise it is beautiful here in the summer!!)) Report Abuse

It s a pretty nice city, one of the best Stateside. If you re looking for something different than more typical obvious American things in cities, perhaps more Canadian then this would be perfect. The city doesn t have a lot of the age old issues like out east, but still has a fair bit of interesting old neighborhoods. The architecture is profound and it is soo easy to live there without a car which is good if you want to persue something like that or you don t have a car. The people there are very friendly and overall liberal (some even leaning further left; socialist) and partially wacky. The city is very artsy and cultural with centers and festivals...for eg the First Thursday Art Walk, and the Portland Art Museum. The city is considered a big youth magnet because of the liberalness and stuff that seems to cater to 20 and 30 somethin year olds...arts, transit, urban neighborhoods (aka not suburbs), natural amenities, education. The weather is pretty fair, the summers are normal...some clouds, mostly sunny, a few overcast days. Winters are overcast and drizzly at times...but it s not too cold usually and you can still do stuff (aside going to the beach, you know) outdoors like window shopping. Snow is not very common only happens a couple times, is light, and melts usually soon (so you can enjoy it, without dealing with it for months). The coast is an hour away and the mountains aren t too far. Loads of natural amenities like the coast itself, Mt Hood, Forest Park, the coastal towns, and Multnomah Falls. The downtown is really walkable and easy to access with nice shops, bars, and good architecture. It s near the Pearl District and the Northwest.Portland also has a lot of neat urban parks...less naturey but still extremely well done. Fountains, plants, landscaping, public art, ties to history, interesting shapes, etc. done in a modern way. For example, Jamieson Square, Ira Keller Park, Tanner Springs Park, Tom McCall Waterfront Park.

I ve lived in Portland for several years now and think that it is a great city. It s a fairly relaxed city, people like to enjoy the outdoors, hike, snowboard, take day trips, camp etc. Lot of coffee, restaurants featuring local foods, local breweries and wineries - a great place to live if you re a foodie.Downtown (SW Portland) is the traditional business hub of the city. I would recommend living in NW Portland if you are into condo life, or close in on NE and SE Portland - which has more homes and older neighborhoods. Portland has a good public transportation system which makes getting into downtown for work nice without having to deal with expensive parking. The coast can be beautiful - but there is a reason we call it the coast and not the beach - typically cooler temperatures, rain and wind, cold water, etc. But there are a lot of cute coastal towns which make the coast a great weekend retreat to relax. There seems to always be things going on in Portland, particularly in the summer months when the weather is nice - some of our most popular event include:Portland Rose Festival - early June, citywide events include parades, races, a carnival in waterfront park, etc.Oregon Brewers Festival - one of the largest independent brewery festivals in the country I believe.Time Based Art Festival - unique and cutting edge art exhibits that last for a week or two.Hopefully this is a good start for you, I ve included some links below that might help you as wellGood luck welcome!

Everyone s experience in a city is differentI lived there once for 4 months and I did not like it.It mightve been the timing. Late summer- fallBut it seemed cloudy a lot and quite dreary a lot.I went back to So Cal, where I started from.I didnt think much of the downtown either. Lots of winosThis was a long time ago tho. LIke mid 70 sPeople did seem pretty ok tho.Maybe you ll find someone with a more positive visit.
