Where can you find the most homeless people in downtown Cleveland? -

Where (in Cleveland) can you find the most homeless people, or the most poor and hungry people (specifically in the winter)?

I ve seen the most homeless around Public Square and in the doorways of vacant buildings downtown. The poor and hungry are all over Cleveland... especially around East Cleveland at Harvard, Broadway, Superior, Noble.

1736 Superior Avenue Suite Number: #209Cleveland, Ohio 44114 216-781-8262 They are usually down the street, sleeping over the steam grates.

I agree with the other 2 post, I see a lot of homeless people in East Cleveland too. Downtown around the YMCA and churches.

How much does the average American spend on fireworks in their lifetime? -

It s probably very little.I ve never bought any fireworks in my life. It s just easier to go to a fireworks display than do your own.

Where are good Private schools in Pennsylvania? -

Im moving to pennsylvania and want to put my 4 year old into a good private or catholic school where I can pay a reasonable tutution. If any parents or anyone know any good schools or websitesThank You

Pennsylvania is a big state. You ll have to be more specific about the location.

I have to agree. This is a huge state. To us Philadelphians, it s like Pittsburgh and Erie were in other countries. Narrow down the field.

Las Vegas on New Years question? -

Im going to las vegas for new years. whats better the strip or downtown for the countdown.

If you are interested in seeing the fireworks then you should be on the strip. If you are interested in the live concerts, then Fremont street is the place to be.http://www.lasvegas-how-to.com/new-year-

Are you referring to downtown as in Fremont Street? The strip would be the best in my opinion. Hope you already have your Hotel reservation.

the strip, this year fireworks off the casino s roof s. You will be one of approximately half million with your neck looking up.

How far is the drive from Ft. Lauderdale to Miami? -

I want to go for New Year s Eve and I know things can get quite expensive in Miami. Would it be wise to stay in Ft. Lauderdale and drive to Miami for the nightlife?

The person that said 15 minutes obviously doesn t know what he/she s talking about. It s at least 45 minutes driving fast and with little traffic, but even on normal weekdays, there s rush hour traffic most of the day, in the mornings, afternoons, night, even after midnight. So it s always at LEAST 1 hour to get from Ft. Lauderdale to Miami. But that s just on normal days, on weekends it takes longer. And on holidays like New Year s Eve expect bumper to bumper traffic, only moving 1 inch every 10 minutes. My honest advice, since the main concern here seems to be price, is to just stay in the Miami area. I don t know who misinformed you on Miami being expensive, but it s not. Yes, there s really expensive condos, homes, etc. here but there is also a lot of inexpensive places to stay. Now it really all depends on what you plan on doing in Miami. My advice for New Years would be to stay in either Miami or Miami Beach. Some of the reasons why is because the best of the best nightlife in all South Florida is in Miami(specifically Downtown Miami) and Miami Beach. In Miami and Miami Beach you can walk anywhere so you don t have to worry about renting a car or bringing your own car (if you drive from Ft. Lauderdale to Miami, you have to spend money on gas to get there and back PLUS the fee on renting a car). If you don t feel like walking you can always take any of the mass transit (some of them are even free like the metromover). All the clubs, bars, etc. are really close to each other so you could take a cab for a really low fee since they re close. And Miami is right next to Miami Beach, just a bridge away, so no problem getting from one to the other. Now on where to stay. You can pick between extremely luxurious hotels that are expensive or nice hotels that s inexpensive and that are really close to all the nightlife. Just do a little googling around and you ll see what I mean. Oh before I forget, don t forget to check out the Orange Drop (like the NYC ball drop) in Downtown Miami.

The distance between Ft. Lauderdale north Miami is just 16 miles ( 25 km ) so it is about 15 min drive from Ft. Launderdale . Have funhttp://www.distance-calculator.co.uk/usa

To the person who said 15 minutes, that may be as the crow flies, but the crow doesn t have to worry about rush hour, etc. Depending on the time of day and traffic flow, if you take the expressway (and use the express lane), you would be lucky to do it in 30-40 minutes. In heavy traffic, or taking the coastal route (Collins Ave., etc.) you re talking an hour and probably more.

Depending on traffic and what roads you take (where in Miami you re going), it could take you anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour and fifteen.

30minutes and more, depends what part of miami.

If you could live in any state in the west or south, which region would you pick? -

I would pick a nice state in the west. I don t like the south, because it s beautiful to vacation in the south, but to me, living there is beyond me -- it s just to quiet, dull, and slow.

I agree with Nicole... I live on the west coast (Southern California) but I would LOVE to live in the south for a while... love the culture... people... and FOOD haha... I am thinking of moving there for a while within the next couple of years... but if I had to choose I gotta stay true to my roots and say the west coast ;)

In the west, in spite of what you hear on the news I would pick California. But then, that is exactly what I did in 2001 when I moved to LA. And I still love LA.

i love the west... and the south. North -- not so much. I d love to live in Louisiana. :)

Can you get across a state border line in a taxi, Or is it illegal? -

I was wondering, Is it Illegal to go across a state border in a taxi? Will they pull you over? I m not looking to go out of country, Just the state.

That depends on the cabbie. For the right price, they will take you cross country.

It s not illegal for the taxi to take an adult between states, but it is illegal for them to transport a minor who may be running away from home or otherwise traveling without parental permission. That could be a federal crime which would land the taxi driver in jail.

Of course you can. You can walk, drive, take a bus or a taxi. There are no border guards at state borders.

USA/US/America - which one should I use in a formal letter or conversation? -

USA/US/America - which one should I use in a formal letter or conversation? - e.g. when writing to an American University and also what is the difference between the three?

In formal writing, you should write The United States. In legal documents, you will see The United States of America though you will likely not have any situation in which you d need to write it that way. In a very formal conversation, also say The United States, though in most circumstances saying just The U.S. is fine. You ll find that most Americans say The U.S. more than anything else. The U.S.A. is sometimes used in writing (probably to differentiate U.S. from us ) but not often in speech (since it s longer). I would say that The U.S. and The U.S.A have a neutral meaning, but America is used in patriotic ways. That s why you ll hear people say God bless America or politicians frequently saying America in their speeches. Also, if you use U.S. or U.S.A don t forget to include the in front of it. It s a common mistake I ve seen international students make, so be aware that the is needed.

The formal term on legal documents is the United States of America . In oral conversation, use the United States . America originally meant anywhere in the Western Hemisphere, including what is now Canada, Mexico, Panama, Chile, Brazil, etc.In writing, US can be confused the word us . If you are using US in a sentence, it should be spelled U.S. . When addressing mail, this is not necessary.

america is a contient and the Us mean us went to the cinema together (example) and it deducts an a it also means us without caps and so i would Recommend u use the full name USA short for the United states Of America

The country s formal name is The United States of America. Although most people simply refer to it as the United States. All three mean the same thing.

USA and US are both abreviations which do not fit into formal letters. America is a contenant that involves canada and mexico along with other countries.Use United States

I would use The United States. I think that s better than using an abbrieviation or America.

USA ... America is very informal
