Eagle rock or studio city? -
Eagle Rock boring? its a college town.. look up boring in the dictionary and Studio City appears.
Studio City is more upscale in a way you probably aren t interested in. Crime-wise, the areas are similar. Studio City is a bit hotter during the summer than Eagle Rock, but typically not that much. It s hotter further out in the valley.Eagle Rock is very cool. When home prices went way up a few years ago, several of the real estate agents started advertising on the westside to artists, entertainment industry people, etc. They could buy a house in Eagle Rock at a reasonable price and stop renting on the westside, and Eagle Rock became more exciting. Eagle Rock is quite mixed socio-economically, it s a very comfy place for many people. Pasadena and Glendale aren t far. In fact, some homes in Eagle Rock have Pasadena backyards. Art Center College of Design (Pasadena) is right over the border, and Pasadena has lots of museums and things to do.Eagle Rock Music Festival http://www.myspace.com/eaglerockmusicfesCenter for the Arts, Eagle Rock http://www.centerartseaglerock.org/ Businesses in Eagle Rock http://www.yelp.com/eagle-rock-caGo hang out in both places and decide which is the best fit for you.
Eagle Rock used to be boring. But for some reason, it s become quite hip the past few years. Lots of little shops, places to eat, etc. It all depends what you like to do. What exactly are entertainment type things ? Eagle Rock has a couple of small clubs, an Internet Cafe (Swork), and a lot of places to just chill and hang out. Personally, I d go for Eagle Rock. I grew up there, and my mom still lives there.
Whats It Like To Live In Ohio? -
I like Cincinnati. I work in Clifton (Close to downtown), live in Delhi (West Side) and was raised in the Hamilton/ Fairfield area (Just slightly North of Cinci). The winters can get nasty. Mostly not until January. We get a lot of icy storms. As far as raising kids there are a lot of good schools. Cincinnati is a predominatly catholic area (esp the West Side) and there are a ton of competitive private schools. The suburbs surrounding Cincinnati also have some great public schools with a lot of great programs. There are also a lot of neat things about Cincinnati. There is a really nice Museum Center, the Cincinnati Zoo, the Creation Museum (in Northern Kentucky). King Island Amusement Park, The Beach Water Park, Great Wolf Lodge, and many other attractions good for various seasons. There is a ton of history in Cincinnati as it was a large part of the underground railroad. There are also plenty of concert venues as well as broadway across america productions downtown, playhouse in the park, and the cincinnati ballet company. There are also a lot of hospitals and colleges in the areaI am sure there are many other things that are interesting, esp when you look at more specific parts of towns. I hope this helps!
I have answered this question six or seven times. I recommend that you type Cincinnati in the box labeled search for answers. Then press the Search button. I just don t feel like spending 30 minutes on a two-point question tonight. This is a response to an earlier question. If you have a more specific question, please send me an e-mail.Something like 80-90% of the residents of the west side were born there, went to elementary, junior high and high school there. Even if they managed to achieve escape velocity, they came back to one of the three contiguous zip codes and married someone from there. They work there, they own property, and when they die, they will be buried there. There are no bookstores west of the Mill Valley [I-75].Family life is a negotiated settlement. Cincinnati comes off on the good end of a lot of compromises. I do hope that you enjoy your stay here. Most people who move into Cincinnati choose the east side. In 1907, the city planners decided that while some cities contain parks, Cincinnati should be contained within a park. Clifton is the University neighborhood, and it has Burnet Woods. One of the designers of that property also designed Central Park in New York. Hyde Park, Mount Lookout, Oakley, Kennedy Heights between them have Ault Park, Alms Park, the Oakley Playground, the Wilson Triangle and French Park All of those neighborhoods are within fifteen minutes of downtown.Oakley is the new downtown. It has numerous new small retail shops, plus Target, Meijer, Walmart, and between Oakley and Hyde Park, they have fourteen Asian restaurants. Hyde Park Kroger s is where all the wives of Kroger executives shop, so it s really nice. It s about ten minutes from Kenwood and the malls there. Please visit the east side before you make a decision.
winters; winters are fickle in Cincinnati. Right now, as I type this, it is 57 degrees at 11:30PM... but the temps are falling and will be in the 20 s by Friday. CRAZY!Cincinnati is cutting back on snow removal, and Cincinnati is built on 7 hills... it is going to be fun this winter. Some winters (3 out of 10) we get 16 inches of snow. Sometimes all at once.Safe for kids... just stay out of the public schools, and stay out of the city of cincinnati.East side (Mt Washington, Anderson Township) or west side (Delhi) or outside of Hamilton County... Butler or Warren in Ohio or any of the three counties in Kentucky - Kenton, Campbell or Boone.Butler Co is a nice to place to live. I ve worked all over the USA and Canada. I return to Cincinnati. Cincinnati is the center of everything. Draw a circle, 400 miles out from CIncinnati, and look at everything that is less than an 8 hours drive away.
Cincinnati is not a bad place to live and raise a family. Housing is pretty affordable and the schools are pretty good as well. There are some school districts that are better than others, but overall I think this area is great. There are a lot of big companies here such as P G, Kroger, GE Aircraft Engines and a number of banks. Winters can be pretty cold and the last few winters we did get a few days where there was significant snow on the ground.
Well, I just moved here in 2006 from Ann Arbor, Michigan. So I ve only been here for about 3 or 4 years. So far, I STILL don t like it. It s like as bad as Detroit but Downtown Cincinnati is really bad ..dont go there lol....I live in a suburb called Wyoming in the GREATER cincinnati area..lol it s pretty nice here..small too..in fact this town is only 2.5 miles big. I think you should move to Wyoming, Ohio. It has the #1 High School in the State and it s very diverse.. BAD AREAS:MadisonvilleAvondaleNorwoodGOOD AREAS:Wyoming- ( Just about as rich as indian hill but not too expensive)Indian Hill- ( VERY Rich Area)MariemontBlue Ash
* What is the Fastest but safest Route from Chicago, Illinois to Seattle, Washington...? -
I would suggest just getting on I-90 and going West. That highway goes all the way to Seattle, in more or less a straight line. The interstate will be plowed better than the minor roads, and if you wanted to go farther South to avoid snow, you d add way, way too much distance to your trip.Or you could just fly...much faster, and cheaper overall if you include the cost of wear and tear on your vehicle and if you re going alone.
Check google maps and use their direction finder.
I-90 is a straight shot.

There is still hiking, ice skating, camping (for the really rugged), etc.
Try going to the I love New York website. It should list events that are happening in the Adirondacks. I m not sure exactly what part of the Adirondacks you are interested in. There ARE several million acres in the park. Report Abuse
