You ll need to get to Union Station at Adams Canal. You can walk south through downtown on Clark Street and then turn right/west on Adams. Then proceed west on Adams to Canal. It s probably just over a mile walk. Also, from State Lake you can take either a Pink or Purple Line L train and exit at Quincy Wells. Then walk half block to Adams and the west about 3 blocks to Canal Street and Union Station. Rail fare would be $2,25. Of course taking a cab would be your third option.
LA is the movie capital. NY is more theater. Not that they dont make movies there, but the big studios are in LA. I lived in LA for 35 yrs, and worked in the music business. But be forewarned that there are thousands and thousands of people trying to get into any aspect of show business. Also, because of the economy they are making less movies per year now, and going more withanimated movies. They dont have to pay actors huge salaries, and go on location etc. I read even the big names like Scorese and Spielberg are having trouble getting funding for movies. Its just the times we live in. As far as advantages/disadvantages These are the 2 most expensive cities to live in, in the US. Taxes are also high.CA has high car insurance. Warm weather. LA metro is spread out over 80 square miles..with millions of people.NYC has 8.2 Million on one tiny island. 4 seasons LA is rushed but mentally the people are more casualNYC is very fast paced.LA you spend a LOT of time in your car. NYC its all right there.
Los angeles is better, They have Studio city, Dream works, Paramount. 90% of all film is in Los angeles, New York doesn t have enough space. Plus los angeles is more spread out, and is warm all year round. New york gets a lot of snow, and the temperature in the winter is in the teens, however the summers are very nice, but it is so crowded. It is your call, But I would go with LAGood luck!
It s UCLA and USC versus NYU, the three top film schools in the country. Most directors went to one of those universities.
i love new york and so would you there is A lot of activities to do and Rockefeller center/broadway! gone to both many times
nyc all the way! it has way more to do! times sqaure broadway etc.! if i were u go to nyc it rocks!
There are literally hundreds of places that would meet your requirements. If you are more specific I think you will get better answers. For instance: do you want hot weather, live in mountains, live near beach, big or small city, west, east, midwest, etc., near university. The more you can add the better it will be for you to get a meaningful answer that will actually be of help.Good luck
Huntington, West Virginia. You can buy a house there for $60,000 in a nice neighborhood.
I know just the place in the US. We call it Canada.
You can t. Stockton Municipal Airport is served by only one commercial airline, Las Vegas based Allegient Airlines. They do NOT offer direct flights to Stockton from Los Angeles, and do NOT offer flights from Los Angeles to Las Vegas. To make this trip by air you would have to fly to Las Vegas on a different airline then transfer to Allegient from Las Vegas to Stockton. It won t be cheap.Consider making this trip by train on the Amtrak San Joaquin , or by bus on Greyhound
