Other than the las vegas strip, is las vegas a beautiful or nice place to live in? -

my husband got a job offer there, we are living in a small town in texas, and we hate it here,we want to buy a house and have enough money to do so,but I don t want to buy a house here,we love the night life!and don t have any kids, is las vegas a good idea? we ve only been there twice, and only on the strip, other than that ,we don t know las vegas well at all.

You will love Vegas for the nightlife, it s great! Buying a house? Want a tip? Use cash and offer slightly less than the asking price - you will be able to buy the house no problem. Need cash on the side? Rent out part of the house. Just do this until the economy comes back up again.Yes, as Banananose_89117 said, unemployment rate peaks at 14%. Las Vegas has one of the worst in the nation. What does your husband do? If it s hospitality, construction, or entertainment - definitely don t bother. 6,000 workers in these industries were laid off, believe it or not. I had one friend working at the newly opened City Center, and he was immediately put off when the project finished. Now he s unemployed and cannot find work. Homelessness is also becoming rampant in Vegas. Crime is rising, but is relatively in the North and East Las Vegas. Take a flight down to Las Vegas and shop for a home in Summerlin (West Las Vegas) or one in Henderson (Southern Las Vegas) or near. Those areas have relatively low crime, homelessness, and overall everything looks nice. Does your town have traffic? Because Las Vegas has tons! The good stuff about Vegas? Take it from me. I recently moved to West Las Vegas and love it here. How cool is it to say you re from Vegas? Moreover, how cool is it to have the Eiffel Tower and New York skyscrapers in your backyard? Yeah, too cool. Las Vegas obviously excels in nightlife and entertainment so you will love it here. Lots of places are opened 24/7. Want a steak at 4 AM? No problem! Everything is in close proximity - from parks, supermarkets, restaurants, the Strip, UNLV, the airport to name a few. There is no state tax. Overall, be careful on spending money and keep faithful to your husband. It s the city of Sin after all. You do the same, too. It s a nice place to live in if you know how to make most of it =)

Not a good time to move to LV! Unemployment is still 14%, despite City Center opening this month. Good time to buy a house but you ll have to pay cash. Homes being sold are going first come, first served only to those with cash up front. You d almost have to rent.Las Vegas is the armpit of the southwest. Off the strip, you have tent cities for homeless families; boarded up homes and shops; panhandlers at every freeway exit, etc. Our schools are near the bottom of the pile in the US. No social services to speak of, thus all the homeless and panhandlers. A pawnshop on every corner, and a liquor store next to it. Crime is way up from a few years ago. Home invasions are pretty common in good neighborhoods. Traffic is horrible, as almost every road in the county is under construction all the time. We finally do have a decent public transit system.Think of it this way: If you ve ever watched the Christmas movie It s a Wonderful Life with Jimmy Stewart and Donna Reed, notice the town of Bedford Falls without George Bailey. It s called Pottersville , and it looks just like Las Vegas looked just a few years ago. Now it s worse.

I love living in Vegas. You learned not to gamble or gamble like once a month like going to a movie. You will find friends\relatives wanting to visit and stay with you so set your limits/rules. Be careful where you buy, not in 89019. The best areas are The Lakes, Picolle Ranch, Summerlin, parts of Green Valley/Henderson, most planned communities. Check to make sure the home is not in a wash area. Make sure you have a home check that includes water leaks, the worst damage to homes here are caused by bad leaking pipes. Have the roof check, etc. Unemployment is 14% and growing so be aware that a job may not last. This is the Mojave Desert with hot summers, cold winters and cold summers, but otherwise a great place to live

I love living here. It is a different world away from the strip. When you live here you try to avoid the strip if at all possible. I love the weather here the most. Winters are mild if you compare them to the midwest, which is where I am from. Sun shines almost every day here. You can always find something to do 24/7. That is the good. You better be absolutely sure about that job offer because if it doesn t pan out you will be screwed. There are no jobs available here. One of the highest jobless rates in the US. To read what it is like to live here you should read the following page.

when i was 19... i packed up all my **** and moved to las vegas... i lived there for quite some time... i loved it.. i lived in north las vegas, but i was still 10min from the strip.. i loved living there.. yah i went to the strip alot... but there IS a world outside of the strip... theres tons of shopping... like there are 2 outlet shopping that have designer stuff ...as in... versace, burberry, coach... and TONS of designer stuff... then there is the ACTUAL mall.. which is on the strip but omg... its crazy... the parking lot is HUUUGE like i had to have someone help me find my car... it took me an hour to find my car... and the mall was HUUUUGE! im from california so i always had a mall near me... but my god this mall had everything from sporting goods, to hot topic, to furniture stores, to louie Vuitton... i know its the biggest mall in all of nevada, its called the fashion show mall, its 2 MILLION sq ft, with 250 shops and restaurants, its really cool too cuz they have like performances going on in the center of the mall, so theres always something to see. .. ok so there are tons of golf courses around las vegas...if thats your thing.. there are shows everywhere. its also great place to buy the house... the market is booming there.... best time to buy... they have amazing houses there...

Whats the closest metro stop to Bowie, MD? -

You have the B22 bus and you also have the MARC that connects at New Carrollton. This is my help from Washington, D.C. United States of America. Please pick an answer as the best answer, even if it is not mine.

The metro does not go near Bowie, but the MARC train Penn line offers a service from Union Station, calling at New Carrollton Station, both of which connect to DC Metro lines, as well as Union Station being within walking distance of much of central DC. The one-way fare is $4, and the journey takes 20 minutes. They serve Bowie State Station, at the North side of the town next to Bowie State University, where there is parking, and the B21 and B22 buses connect to Bowie Town Center with intermediate stops on the way. At peak times the B27 bus also links to additional points in Bowie. The MARC Penn Line offers an hourly service off-peak and up to every 20 minutes both morning and afternoon peak times on Mondays to Fridays. For traveling at weekends, the B21, B22 B24, B25 and B29 buses all link Bowie State and Bowie town center to New Carrollton Metro Station, and there is also parking at New Carrollton.

The closest Metro Rail station would be the Orange Line at New Carrollton. Here s a link to the Metro Rail system map: http://www.wmata.com/rail/maps/map.cfm

There is not a stop that is close.

Greyhound tickets for children? -

Ok Were are going on a trip Via greyhouhnd and we bougt 3 adult tickets. The people going are my girlfriend myself and our 4 year old. I was just wondering if it was going to be a problem for my daughter.Because she is 4 and she is using an adult ticket, does it really matter? A bunch of people said its the same..but I just dont know, Do any of you, I would appreciate any help.

Pretty sure you can get child tickets at a reduced price, but if you ve already bought 3 adult tickets I don t see why it would be a problem. Just go for it.
