I am travelling to Maui and want to shop at Costco, how will I be able to pay for my purchases? -

Cash, Check, Debit, or American ExpressAbove poster is right, we don t usually take credit cards, However, Amex provides exclusive deals for Costco members, so in return, they are accepted at every Costco internationally.

Cash or debit card--no credit cards used as credit cards. There s a BankOh (Bank of Hawaii) ATM right past the cash registers, with the usual fee for cards from other banks.

umm, with money? hawaii doesn t use seashell currency any more, you know. :)

Whats better, arkansas, north carolina, or california?? -

North Carolina! I ve been to all those states and in NC the people are the nicest, you ve got the beach, the mountains, and four full seasons. There s nothing like the south!

Never been to Arkansas. But I live in California and have family in North Carolina.I d prefer North Carolina overall (Raleigh area.) I LOVE it there!

Depends... Better at what? I ve been to two of the three states mentioned, even lived in one, so I ll have to choose North Carolina.

Caifornia.

Grocery Delivery in LA california? -

Hey, I hate going to the grocery store, its such a hassle. Id much rather get grocery delivery but where from? Im lost. Does anyone know of a grocery delivery company in California that will delivery groceries and not charge me an arm and a leg? thanks :)

Just curious. Why are both you, and Jessica blocking other members from viewing your Q A s. Got something to hide? It makes Tom s comment seen credible.

Ashley, do you work for Von s? Does Jessica have the job of being the first one to answer your questions? You have this same question posted under San Diego. Sounds like you are using Yahoo Answers as a social networking site to promote Von s home delivery service throughout California.

Oh you can get delivery from Vons Like I do. Its great and its actually cheaper than going to the store. It saves me sooo much time and they bring the bags right to my door. Just go to www.vonsdelivery.com

Agreed. Vons or Albertson s.http://www.vonsdelivery.comhttp://www.albertsons.com/freedelivery/f

i think toms onto something! Everybody hates grocery shopping. either shop early or shop late

Safeway delivery for $10 if you order online

Good for you for wanting to be anti-social.

I heard from a friend of a friend that Von s was the worst ever. :)

Don t do Vons... they put bugs in your food...

What is it like to live in Detroit or Michigan?...YOUR SAY? -

From your perspective, someone who actually lives there.Do you feel it us unfair that is has a bad reputation? Is it just another form of sterotyping? Is it no different from any other state?

First of all Detroit city proper is bigger than New York, then the suburbs of Detroit are even bigger than that and heavily populated more than 4 Million people live in Suburbs.People from Detroit are recognize Detroit as basically the Tri -County or Metro Detroit and yes suburbia considers themselves Detroiters too.Detroit isn t dead it is just moving over from Urban Sprawl. And yes Metro Detroit has many clubs, museums, and a big music scene and middle class and wealthy people.Outsiders just don t know how to navigate through the 3 counties or find what their looking for.If you want to know where people go to hang out look through Metro Times Newpaper. The city proper has been mismanaged and fought over for years. The city move to Suburbs started way before the race riots,It started when the Federal Government bought land from Appalachian people for very little they moved to Detroit ,city whites didn t like or want to live with them,Southern whites started fighting with blacks for housing in the City, they were upset when Black were in there neighborhoods during segregation.City Whites got sick of all the southern whites and moved to suburbs starting in 40 s,they left southern whites and Blacks to fight over the city and they did.Blacks out number southern whites and they moved to suburbs during late 60 s-90 s.Blacks are also moving to suburbs because now Detroit has little population,to much land and poverty. The rich that live there pay for private services like security and schools. The rest are poor and Detroit has practically no middle class left in it s border. Now young Metro Detroiters don t even know how the fight got started and are confused on how to fix what their Grandparents broke. However Metro Detroit is not a broken down wasteland just the city proper and now the 3 counties have to figure out how to fix a problem. It really has little to do with Manufacturing but urban sprawl.Detroit was a crap hole when I was growing up I am 30 and Detroit has been bad since I can remember but Detroiters under 40 want to fix their Metropolis. And want to set aside their grandparents stupidity,we just don t know how to begin.BTW Oakland county one of the 3 counties of Detroit Metro has some of the wealthiest neighborhoods in the country so I don t think outsiders understand what s going on or how it happened. But it is unfair most of Detroit doesn t live in Detroit anymore. That s what we have to figure out now,how to return to the city proper. And now the grandchildren of these people who ruined Detroit live together and are starting to integrate.

Well, first off living in Detroit as opposed to other areas of Michigan are completely different experiences. Even within Michigan Detroit doesn t have the best reputation. Michigan isn t doing well economically right now. That part of its reputation isn t exaggerated. Jobs are hard to come by and the unemployment rate is the highest in the country. However, what is it like to live there? Michigan is a beautiful state and has beautiful foliage and a lot of great lakes and beaches. It s a lot of fun in the summer as well as being a great place for winter sports. I grew up in small towns in Michigan and there was always a great sense of community. As for bigger cities; Ann Arbor, Lansing, Grand Rapids, or Traverse City are all great places to live and or visit.

In the metropolitan area, it s not bad, if you re working anyplace. In the city, you will see a lot of people who appear to be alive only because they haven t yet figured out how to die. The panhandling can be quite shameless. People routinely go around stripping old wiring and plumbing fixtures from houses to sell for scrap. I ve seen abandoned cars, trucks, and even boats dumped on the side streets. And many of those streets look as if they d been bombed, the pavement s crumbling so badly.Still, it s not Cleveland.

im from the north side 8 mile and it aint as bad as ya think. ya its got its share in crimes, drugs, violence and all that crap but ya get used to it. ive been livin in detroit for my whole life and im 14 now. for me it feels like i got total freedom when im on the streets. detroit only got a bad reputation cause of what goes on but i dont really care cause they dont know what detroit really is. they just think its bad cause they watch too much movies and crap about it. detroit is different, but detroit aint a state, its a city in michigan. parts of detroit is dangerous, others are alright... but ya gotta always watch ya back cause you aint never know whats gonna happen next... and ya, stay off the streets after dusk... honestly, man words cant describe detroit, ya gotta live it to feel it.

1. Is it unfair our bad rap? - No, not really, it is very exaggerated though.2. Stereotyping? - No again. It more of a media hype. Things are bad in Det. but it simply isn t as bad as portrayed. SE MI is in a depression but it can be hard to tell by going to upscale eateries and shopping malls. Plenty of well off people still here.3. Different from other states? Yes and no. Each state has unique gifts and troubles. MI is a rustbelt state and shares that with a number of other states. MI will never be FL or CA - because MI simply IS different, ALWAYS has been.

Other s pretty much said it. Bad parts of Detroit, Flint etc. suck bad but most all of MI is a very nice place. If you re well off and live in one of the many nice burbs life is good. Yes, the economy here is bad and has been for a while. Many people still have great jobs and high incomes. If you re a have life is grand. If your new or perpetually poor have not life hurts.

IT is no different than any other city. as a matter of fact it is not as bad as St. lewis their lots of good thing about DETROIT but as i have said before the NEWS MEDIA S been very negative about DETROIT FOR THE PASS (40)years sure their crime in this city as other places but for some reason the NEWS always paint DETROIT as a bad place if a man kill his hold family the NEWS will say METRO-DETROIT making it seem as if the murder was commit in DETROIT. or (4) YOUNG MEN cut up a man in his (40TH)over( 20.00) dollar worth of weed THEY WILL NOT say the name of the town its ALL WAYS SAY METRO - DETROIT all some people hear is the word DETROIT. yes their great jobs lost in our city know one is trying to help bring jobs back into the city or it seem in THE COUNTRY THIS INCLUDE THE PRESIDENT, the president said that the city of DETROIT BECAUSE OF THE JOBS LOST WOULD GET SOME STIMULATE MONEY FOR JOBS TRAINING IF WE GOT ANY IT IS NOT BENEFITING THE PEOPLE i am beginning to lose faith in this PRESIDENT and his policies i do not agree with sending more troops to AFGHANISTAN.

I agree with what Jac said. i dint live in Detroit but i have been there. yes it is unfair that people keep putting down detroit. Detroit is not the most dangerous city any more it has dropped down the the 4th,. Michigan is a beautiful state. I love my state . we have the great lakes and over 11,000 inland lakes hundreds of rivers and streams there is so much to do here all year long.

well i live in a suburb outside of detroit and its really great. detroit isnt as bad as you hear about it on the news. there are different parts that are good and different parts that are bad. there are also suburbs that are just minutes from detroit

It depends where you live. In the Detroit area I wouldn t be hanging around after dark and in some places I wouldn t go near at all. However, once you get out of that area it gets less violent. Detroit gets a fair reputation though its not good.

I m so freaking sick of all the drugs, depravity, crime and crooked cops...It has a bad reputation, but its mostly deserved.Sterotyping? Look at the facts...70% of homocides go unsolved....Its worse than other states....

Our city has its good areas and its bad areas.Don t most towns? We do have our crimes, but the whole city isn tt just one big gang city. Its pretty nice. The southeast is probably the worst off.I love living in this city. And lots of famous people come from here!

i am from metro Detroit i prefer my own area for many reasons, i have traveled greatly

Which is better...frisco tx or plano tx? -

I currently live in N. Irving (Las Colinas) and want to purchase a home but the home prices in Irving are ridiculous. I want to move to an area that doesn t have high home prices and that also have good schools.

Frisco Plano both have good schools, but I doubt home prices are less in either place than they are in Las Colinas. Shopping is better in Frisco, but I like the manicured look of Plano better ---west of 75 that is.

Thank you. That is helpful. Report Abuse

Trip insurance..............? -

hiis there any insurance available for this..am driving from chicago to california, in my 2000 chevy impala...just to avoid any kind of break downs during my trip,is there any kind of trip insurance that i could take...

http://insurancefortrips.com/This site has a plan called trip protector . The rates are based on your trip cost (to cover airline snafus, etc) but since you are driving you can use the $0 trip cost rates, and get a very comprehensive policy on the cheap. It is basically a short term, or one time policy to give you extra protection when traveling.

You might be able to add some to your existing policy. I know that AAA offers the same thing to their members. Here s a link:http://www.aaa.com/aaa/sem/sem.htm?redir

The South Rim or West Rim? -

I am planning to go to Las Vegas and would like to see the Grand Canyon on a Bus Tour. This will be my first time to the Grand Canyon. I would like to get advices from which side of the Grand Canyon I should visit (South, West, or North). I am interested in scenery and sightseeing. And also what company should I book with? I researched on the internet and there were so many companies that offer the tours.Anybody has been on tours to the Grand Canyon. Your comments will be very helpful because I am looking forward to having a great trip so I d like to spend my time and money wisely. Thank you so much.

The north rim and south rim are in the national park. The national park has been set up around the very best the Grand Canyon has to offer so as to protect it. Of the two, in a brief tour, the south rim offers the very best views of the canyon. The west rim is outside the national park and is therefore by definition not the best place to see the canyon from. However, it has the sky-walk as the previous poster said. Only you can know if seeing the very best of the canyon in the national park or experiencing a totally unique attraction is the west rim is most important for you.

I have heard that the south rim is the one that people go to see much more than the north rim. The Skywalk out over the canyon would be a cool thing to experience. It would have to be fun looking down from that vantage point. It is probably 10 times the experience you could get anywhere else. It s on the south rim:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grand_Canyon_Skywalkhttp://www.grandcanyonskywalk.com/Next, you have got to get on a raft and take a slow ride down the canyon. A raft will give you the views of a lifetime. So spend your money wisely and ride a raft down the canyon and look up around you at all the beauty up close. Just get online and search Yahoo for rafting tour Grand Canyon. Good luck.

Since there is no such actual place as the West Rim of the Grand Canyon then you are left with either the S.Rim or the N.RimSince the N.Rim s roads and facilities are closed for the season that leaves you with just the S.Rim to play withFYI Current S.Rim [86023 } temps are H-37F L-0F Those are colder than the norms for this time of year But 7000 in a Ponderosa Pine forest will always be cold in winterPersonally I would skip the bus tour I mean it s 4.5 hours from LAS to GCNP and instead book a tour on a carrier like Scenic Airlines-Airline Code YR-You also may want to consider just renting a car and drivingg it
