What should I do in Hawaii? -

I am going to have a two-week vacation to Hawaii. Please tell me what to do on each of the days.

get one of those fancy birth certificates

Which island are you visiting? Different things to do on each one.In general though: 1) eat local food: try mango, papaya, guava juice, pineapple, coconut, lychee, malasadas, manapua, lau lau, lomi salmon, musubi, haupia pie, kalbi, sushi, saimin....2) soak up sun at beach: surf, snorkel, boogie board, windsurf, para-sail, kite-surf, take a catamaran ride, whale watch, kayak3) explore inland: hiking, zip-line, biking, mountains, waterfalls, gardens, horseback ride4) Learn about the islands: museums, places of cultural significance, attend a luauand of course, Just enjoy the scenery. Okay, that should get you started. :-) Have a nice trip!

Aloha!Congratulations on your upcoming trip!As you don t mention which island you ll be at I m going to give you some general ideas - my specialty is really Oahu =)1) try several different beaches - they all have their own feeling and personality, from vibrant waikiki to laid back Lanikai, to the pounding North Shore of Oahu - try lots and see what you like best2) go snorkeling - snorkeling in HI is so fun and rewarding, there are tons of amazing places to choose from that will show you amazing fish, honu (sea turtles), eels and more - do this several times, in several locations3) If you are there in the winter months go whale watching - Humpback whales are in HI from Nov-March and are not to be missed!4) Explore the amazing Hawaiian cultural sites - Heiau or temples are very old, sacred and moving. there are also ancient Hawaiian fish ponds and many other sorts of sites. Hawaii is so much more than sunscreen and surfing, check it out =)5) Explore museums and galleries, everything from palaces, historic shipping and whaling to modern art, there is so much out there to see! (and a lot of it is free)6) learn to surf - there are lots of great places to take a beginners surfing lesson, not many other places in the world to do this =)7) do some fun touristy things such as go to the aquarium, the zoo, take in a luau or free hula show, get in some shopping or try a local festival!8) try the food - definitely try a few different plate lunch places, they are all over the islands and everyone has their favorite (I have 2 actually) plate lunch is usually a scoop of rice, macaroni salad, slaw and 1-3 meat or fish entrees ususally for $7 or less - very ono! (delicious)There is so much more to do - if you re on Oahu please go to Pearl Harbor and consider hiking Diamond Head! If you re on Maui do go see the sunrise or sunset on Haleakala, if on the Big Island do go to Volcano s National ParkIf you need more ideas or suggestions please ask, I love Hawaii!

At least one of the days I would stand on beach with a Surf board. Look cool even if you do not know how to Surf. When some one approaches you hold your stomach in flex your arms. Then they will ask are you going out you reply I,m waiting for the perfect wave .Wipe Out / have fun Hawaii is beautiful then Visit Pearl Harbor pay respect to our for father whom gave us the freedom to be here today. L.B.J.

You haven t told us when you are going or which islands you are going to. Both are factors in your experience. If you re going between Nov-May, be sure to go to Maui and see the humpback whales. They come to the Ka anapali beach area every year to birth their young. Be sure to take a boat tour.

if your on oahu,, although think they hafve it on maui too, but go to the polynision culture center (PCC) its an all day thing from morning til the night show and you will be amazed. Its almost a must,

Sign up for scuba certification - it ll take a week, and then you can sign up for some more dives!

snorkel, surf, eat , luau, swim, thats what i do everytime i go there

Will this be enough money for 5 days in Vegas? -

Me and the fiance are going to Vegas. We re going to see two shows (already paid for). We have monorail passes for all of the 5 days (already paid for). We have airfair and hotel (already paid for).We will be there Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, (flying home Tuesday, wont need much money that day we leave at 8:00AM).If I bring $2000 dollars, will that cover drinks and food? We want to go crazy ONE night at the club (maybe 300-350). The rest of the time maybe one fancy restaraunt (Gallaghers $175). We want to have a good time. Neither of us are gamblers, but might want to play a slot machine or two just for the hell of it. Maybe 50 bucks tops on gambling. We ll need a cab from the airport and to the airport... $30-40? Are we good with $2K?

Yes, you should be fine. Like others have said, that s $200 per person each day. That should easily cover food, drinks, and other odds and ends, including the cab to and from the airport. We usually go for 5 days and I think we take about $2-3k with us, and always have some left over.

I think it will be plenty of cash unless you go crazy gambling or eat out at pricey places every day. My advice - if you go drinking take a limited amount of money with you and lock away the rest and the credit cards. It s easy to get having fun and gamble way more than you wanted to.

That is $200 per person per day. That should be enough if you budget your meals and clubbing, and control your gambling. There are many cheap and fast food restaurants around town. But there would not be much left for shopping or sightseeing out of town.

Should be enjoy but watch how many drinks or bottles you get at a club, it adds up very fast and they automatically add the tip

That should be fine. Normally recommend $200 per person per day at the high end. That is for food and odds and ends.

Yes. Just DON T gamble. The average visitor spends about $500 gambling. If you refuse to gamble, you ll have plenty of money and an enjoyable vacation!

should be good

I recommend $200-250 per day.

Disney World at Christmas? -

I m thinking about taking my son for a 2 or 3 day visit to Disney World for Christmas. I ve never seen the park decorated at Christmas, and my son is nearing the age where he ll soon be too grown up for the Magic Kingdom. I m to understand that it can be quite crowded during this time as schools are out. So what about after Christmas? How long does Disney keep the Magic Kingdom decorated? Would we come out better staying a couple days during the week versus the weekend?I know that not all tickets to the park are purchased directly from Disney, but can the theme parks estimate how many guest they might have in a day (say within a thousand)? Any other tips would be welcomed. I do have to pass this along to anyone who might be planning a trip to Disney during the upcoming year. Go in late February or March. The weather was perfect {neither too hot or cold} and the longest line we stood in was for 30 minutes to ride Space Mountain. They didn t run the electric parade at night, but missing the long lines was worth the trade off. I booked this trip via Travelocity (last minute deals) and for $800 we received direct round trip air (from NC), three days and two nights at the Disney s Swan Hotel as well as one adult and one child ticket to one of the theme parks for one day. If you stay within the Disney complex there s no need for a vehicle (there had to be 500+ shuttles running all the time).

One of the nicest times to see Disney World decorated for Christmas is to go during the first two weeks of December. The Thanksgiving crowds have left, and the Christmas crowds haven t arrived yet. Of course, it probably means taking your child out of school which may or may not be doable. One thing to keep in mind is that the weather in Central Florida in December can be hard to predict. It can be warm and sunny one day, but the next day is cool and breezy, where you actually need to wear a jacket. Bring a range of clothing.

actually if you go before christmas around thanksgiving it is a bit less crowded ans everything is decorated!! it is soooo cool and it is extremely crowded during christmas time!!! i had a flash pass to get on buzz lightyear and it took an hour to get on still!!!

I agree with the others, but wanted to add:If the only time you can go is 2-3 days during the official Christmas Break, you should really plan on only seeing the Osborne Lights and the displays at the different hotels/downtown Disney - and the Osborne lights only because you re going there to see it decorated with lights. During that time of year all the parks, but especially the Magic Kingdom, will be KAH-RAZY crowded. Like, you might only get to go on 3 or 4 rides because you ll be spending the rest of the time waiting in lines to go on those rides, kind of crowded. If you just take some time to chill and enjoy the rest of Walt Disney World it could be a nice get away. The Grand Floridian (or, really, any of the deluxe resorts) are beautifully decorated, and you don t have to stay there to go enjoy a looksie. Also, if you re not going to eat only counter service meals (disney s equivalent of fast food) you need to make sure to get your dining reservations made or no restaurants with sit down service will be able to accommodate you. Finally, just so you know, male or female, there s no such thing as being too grown up for Disney. Favorite rides may change but the magic never does! Enjoy your trip.

The Christmas decorations will start coming down soon after the crowds leave, which is usually right after New Year s Day (depending on what day of the week that falls on). This year, since New Year s will be on a Friday, people probably will stay around until Sunday. But after that, the decorations will start coming down fast. So if you could go either the first two weeks of December (decorations are up but crowds aren t there yet) or the first two weeks of January (people have left, decorations are mostly still up), that would be your best bet.Disney does not release actual or estimated guest numbers by day, but they surely have a pretty good idea.
