Do people in NYC have bars on their windows city wide or just in the bad areas? -

Not all of NYC is the urban vision you probably have of Manhattan. If you go to say, Staten Island or Westchester, you won t find bars on the windows except in the worst places.

Just when I visit the neighborhood

bad

idk dude it sucks

Where is the cullen house located on google maps? -

ok so i was messing around on google maps looking around La Push and the quileute res and stuff and i thought it would be awesome to see the cullen house, or charlie s house, if anybody knows where i should look i d love to know, thank you:)

From your name I deducted that you are talking about Forks, Washington. This is Washington, DC about 3,000 miles east of where you should look.Twilight is a fiction book, maybe the house you are looking for is a figment of the author s imagination. Why not post this in the area of literature or Washington state. It has nothing to do with Travel, Washington, DC This is my help from Washington, D.C. United States of America. Please pick an answer as the best answer, even if it is not mine.

gee thanks for the helpo_O i would lay into your *** but by the looks of it your in the military and well i have brothers so nvrmnd...u do have a valid point about the location option thing but still it was just a question. lol im picking your answer as the best for obvious reasoning. Report Abuse

and btw yeah i know i messed up with the location thing i do know the difference i just wasnt paying attention...everyone else just like laid into me for liking twilight at all lol Report Abuse

Things you should know:1) Forks, Washington is located in the state of Washington, not the Dictrict of Columbia.2) Stephenie Meyer did not go to Forks, and ask people if there house could be Bella, Charlie, or the Cullens house, therefore there is not a certain house.3) The houses you have seen in the movies, is a prop. (not real)

Not in Washington, DC. Until you can learn the difference between Washington, DC, which is on the East Coast, and Washington State, which is on the West Coast, put down the novels and learn a little geography. And as the other person pointed out, the Twilight books are FICTION. I m a fan of True Blood and the Sookie Stackhouse novels, but I m not going to go asking in the New Orleans section about finding Bill Compton s house because I know that he and the town of Bon Temps, Louisiana, exist only in the imaginations of Charlaine Harris and fans of the show/books. You Twihards would do well to do the same.

yes, it is in Forks, Washington State.I ve been there, both houses and La Push also. It s an amazing place. Houses are real. Bella s house looks little different and one family offered it for movie. It s a property where they now live in, so tourists can t come in. And as for Cullen s house, its far away from Bella s, kinda in the forest area..and it s sort of bed n breakfast house, little private inn. Also, I ve been to that High School and parking lot. La push is amazing.I live in Seattle, WA, so its not far away and it worth visiting:)

Men!!! your question deserve to be in failblog.org. First of all you are talking about Washington state not Washington D.C. Second, Washington D.C. is in east coast and Washington State is west. Third if you still want to push that La Push is in DC I will give you an address. 1600 Pennsylvania Ave NW. Wahsington D.C. and I think they will let you in. FAILLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!

sweetie you are in the wrong area and from the extra features dvd i saw with twilight i believe that a lot of filming was done in Canada as well as Washington State, hope that helps, maybe repost in a Washington state forum :)

For those who live, or been to New York, what is it like? whats it like in Time Square? -

what s it like att the Statue Of Liberty? what are the best sights to go and see and do around there?

NY is unique to any other place..there is a lot going on, all different kinds of people and things to do and see. time square is time square...lots of neon lights and advertisements and people taking pictures. statue of liberty is pretty cool, it symbolizes a new beginning and a chance of a better life to people who came here from another country. visit the MET (metropolitan museum of art) and central park which is right down the block from the MET. depends what you re interested in when it comes to decideing what to do..but NY pretty much covers all interests so you just gotta research a lil bit. go into SOHO and NOHO it s a little quieter with lots of cute boutiques.

Times Square is full of tourists blocking up the sidewalks staring at all the huge electronic signs and tall buildings. These days it s a lot like a big shopping mall. There is too much to do and see in NYC to answer here try looking at this website: http://www.nyctourist.com/This site is better for more specific questions.

imagine every city you ve ever been in, souped up on steroids and spit polished, the put them all together and add lights...that s about it.I hated it. Too big, too loud, people are rude, too fast and waaaaaay too expensive.

You d love New York. So many things to do! I love it during the Holiday Season.

Would it be ok to hang out in a pilot travel center for say like 5 or 6 hours waiting for a greyhound bus ,? -

I know for greyhound bus you gotta be atleast an hour there before your shedule departure,,and mine leaves at 920 am in the morning and im gonna get at the bus station at 4am or 5 am and no one can take me in the 8 am in the morning ,,family and friends busy and plus no one really wants to take me the damn early in the morning ,,the station is in a small town nothing really to do there, and my dad works like 10 mins away from station bottom line no one can take me 4 or 5 am,, would it look suspicious hanging out there that long ,,,to the workers? im not gonna do nothing suspicious or bad ,,just hang out in the dining area and seat in the table watching a few dvds, listen to my ipod and read a few magazines

It shouldn t be a problem as long as you occasionally buy a drink or snack so you are a paying customer . It would also be a good idea to simply tell them you are hanging out while waiting for a bus.

As long as they aren t busy, and you buy something from time to time there shouldn t be a problem. Just explain to the waitress why you re there, and ask if it s alright.

I am writing a speech about Hawaii what are good facts about Hawaii? -

1) The discovery of the Hawaiian Islands by Captain Cook s expedition brought European diseases to a people who had been isolated for hundreds of years. 2) Within a few generations, the Native Hawaiian population was a mere fraction of pre-discovery numbers as a result.3) The introduction of guns and the technical help of a stranded British sailor helped one chief, Kamehameha, unite all of the islands under his rule. Kamehameha became the first king.4) After Kamehameha s death, his favorite wife (Kaahumanu) broke the kapu (taboo) and the power of the Polynesian priests by sitting down to eat dinner with Kamehameha s son.5) A few months later, missionaries from New England arrived and began converting the Hawaiians to Christianity.6) By the mid-nineteenth century, the children of the missionaries--among others--had begun to buy up the land in Hawaii, converting the Hawaiian hunters, fishers, and farmers into plantation workers. 7) The Hawaiians didn t like taking orders for a little bit of money when they could be living off the land and the sea, so the American planters began to import labor from China, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Japan, and the Philippines. Before long, the Hawaiians were a minority in their own country.8) King Kalakaua was the first monarch in the history of the world to sail around the globe in the early 1880s. When asked what he had seen in his travels that would benefit the people of Hawaii, he replied that he had seen nothing that his people needed except some well-bred horses and cattle. A few years later, Iolani Palace got electric lights before the White House did, after King Kalakaua met Thomas Edison.9) The American planters forced Kalakaua to sign a Constitution under which Hawaiian residents of Asian descent would never be able to vote, while Americans, Europeans, and Hawaiians could only vote if they met certain minimum requirements of property. This constitution is called the Bayonet Constitution.10) After Kalakaua s death, his sister Liliuokalani was elected Queen. 11) Shortly after her American husband died, Queen Liliuokalani tried to replace the Bayonet Constitution with something a little more fair. 12) The American planters used the US Marines on a ship docked at Pearl Harbor (which the US Navy had already been leasing from the Hawaiian Kingdom for decades at this point) to remove Liliuokalani from the throne. They claimed that the lives and property of American citizens were endangered by the new constitution.13) For a time, they kept Liliuokalani a prisoner in her own bedroom. In the new Republic of Hawaii, citizens could only vote if they signed a statement that they did not support the return of Liliuokalani to the throne.14) Native Hawaiians organized politically, signed two petitions, and sent representatives to Wakinekona, DC to lobby against the Republic s proposal that Hawaii be annexed to the United States.15) The president and Senate agreed that to annex Hawaii would be an unequal treaty, illegal under US law.16) After an election, a change in presidential administration, and the declaration of war against Spain, the US annexed Hawaii anyway. They needed to maintain the security of their base at Pearl Harbor because they needed a fuel and supply station on the way to the Philippines, which was about to go from being a Spanish colony to an American colony.17) After World War II, the US gave the Philippines back to the Filipino people. Hawaii became the 50th state. Yay?

Also check out this song from the era of the Republic of Hawaii:http://www.huapala.org/Kau/KauThere are several versions of this song available on iTunes. Hui Ohana s version is pretty good. Report Abuse
