I am visiting a friend in Hawaii in a couple of weeks and want to bring him a gift as a thank you for letting me stay with him. I live in Seattle and would like to bring something local. He is 55 years old, and married if that matters. Any suggestions would be great. Even if its not something from Seattle, the more ideas I can get the better. Thanks.
Go to one of the Made in Washington stores. they have a full selection of things that are local to this area.I d probably go with smoked salmon. But it s also the holiday season, and you can get beautiful blown glass ornaments that would make a nice gift for a host.
I always love giving/getting the smoked salmon (yum!) and someone in Hawaii is probably accustomed to seafood - might really like that! But, you ll have to check Hawaiian customs guidelines - they re pretty strict about what kind of food they allow onto the islands.
Very Pacific NW things would be smoked salmon, Chateau Ste. Michele wine, NW native artwork.
