What objects or monuments could we incorporate into our Maui Photo Scavenger Hunt? -

My family (11 of us) are traveling to Maui this Christmas. I thought a fun group activity would be to plan a photo scavenger hunt. We would have a bunch of clues that would lead to various locations on the island. Each team would then have to take a picture of that object or monument, or they would take a picture of themselves doing the required task. I have never been to Maui, so I am unfamiliar with all that is around. I need help with what objects or tasks should be photographed. Any ideas?!

The big banyan tree in Lahaina. It takes up an entire block. The Dragon s Teeth, a very aptly named rock formation on the northwest shore. The Iao Needle, the most distinctive feature of the Iao Valley. The Maui Ocean Center, a very nice aquarium. The Nakalele Blowhole, a tunnel in the rock where water shoots high in the air when the waves come in.Cheeseburger in Paradise, Jimmy Buffet s restaurant in Lahaina. The black sand beach near Makena.Snorkeling at Ulua Beach (see link)Molokini Crater is a fantastic place for snorkeling, but you may not want to include it on your list because the waves may be too high for the boats to take you there in December.

The Haleakala observatory is on Maui. You can t visit it, but you can take a picture of from the crater of the inactive volcano. Here s a link to some sites that you might want to consider. It sounds like a fun activity. I hope you enjoy Maui.

Key West, FL in February? -

Does anyone know what air temp and ocean temp is at Key West in February? Could we swim in the ocean? Thanks.

I think January is a bit warmer than January where the average low and high air temperatures are 67 F (19.4 C) and 75 F (23.9 C) with mostly clear and sunny weather and little precipitation.I swam in the water late December after a cold snap in a swimsuit without a wetsuit. The locals considered the water to be way too cold and thought I was crazy, but the water was easily 78 F (25.5 C), combined with warm air and sunshine I thought was very comfortable. But I m from Oregon.
