Are businesses going to be open in Austin on Jan 1st? -

I m going to ATX for NYE and staying for the weekend and I was wondering, will most businesses actually open on New Years Day? I wanted to check out the SoCo district in the afternoon and maybe hit up the Warehouse District for some live music at night.Oh and any suggestions on good shops that offer hand-made, eco-friendly clothing? Or any hippie shops I guess could do.Thanks so much!

As in most other cities, a few business will be open on January 1st, but most will not.

Another lost soul comes to Austin. But stay away from the tourist trap known as the SoCo District. You need to go to the Horseshoe Lounge on S. Lamar or the Poodle Dog Lounge on Burnet Road. Both sell eco-friendly attire and they are locally famous for their martinis and cosmopolitans.

Going to Denver, I dont have a car and I want to go skiing...? -

Hi, I m going to Denver this Thursday, November 19th, and I want to go skiing. I won t have a rental car though. Are there any mountains that have a train or bus to take you to the mountain? I m an average skier, so I would like a nice mountain. Any suggestions?

I am pretty sure Vail has a bus and Vail is for all levels i would recommend a run called Christmas Vail can be really packed but if it is a good day it is the best

Pretty much all of the ski resorts have a bus that will take you from the airport- but its not cheap. The easiest way to get to a resort is via the Snow Train from the main station next to downtown (you have to take a bus or a taxi from the airport to any light rail station- then the light rail to union station stop- its walkable from downtown too if you dont want to go through all the transfers. From there- google snow train denver and it takes you up to winter park. Its a great resort- bit expensive, and its lacking on the beginner/easier slopes, but it does the trick. Itll leave in the evening- or you can stay at a hotel in winter park (which will cost a lot, but its dooable).

nope. You are about two hours straight drive from any of the mountains. You could take the greyhound, but that s going to get you there too late to bother, I think. And the airport shuttles cost a freakin fortune!

Greyhound has bus service from Denver to Winter Park. The ski train no longer operates.

There are shuttle buses going to the ski resorts.

Im going to San Diego, and was wondering what the people were like? -

freaking amazing (: lol im from san diego :Dahah most of us are really open minded and friendly or at last i am. loland ony down side is that in most parts there are alot of cholos soo yeah but other than that their friendly. :) have fun its gorgeous down there

California is the land of fruits and nuts so you can expect that!! haha No, really it is a pretty fun, safe, place, around Mission Beach especially people seem used to the tourists and are friendly and helpful. If you are from back east, then you are in for a treat, cause people are a lot nicer in the west.

You ll find a diverse group of people in San Diego. Most are friendly. It s easy to meet people with similar interests.Have fun! If you d like some ideas on things to do in San Diego visit http://www.sandiego-romantics.com

I was just there a little while ago....near mission beach, people seemed very nice...what are you expecting?

very laid back and easy going for the most part.

Westcoast to eastcoast? -

Hi Friends, I just completed a journey of 4500 kms from SFO(San Francisco) to Washington DC in my car over a 4 day journey. Boy was it a tiresome journey but it was a good experience viewing all the beauties of nature. There was no weather glitch though its mid November. Else I would have been stuck. First stop was at Salt Lake City,UT. Second was at Kearney,NE. Third was at SouthBend, IN. The third night stay was quite a rush since there was a local football game on that day. I was also pulled over by a cop in Illinois for speeding. I covered California, Nevada, Utah, Nebraska, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Virginia. The main route was I80 E covering over 2500 miles. The biggest in freeway in USA. Finally I thanked God for making this journey safe.

I-80 goes a long way north just to go south again. Of course I am guessing you started south in Ohio, which means you also went through PA since Ohio and Virginia does not meat. Also, means you went through Maryland since PA and VA do not touch either. and you also forgot a touch of WV unless you stayed a long way north and went around the north side of PA which would have taken you about an extra 200 miles. But I am glad you made it OK. By the way make sure you pay the speeding ticket.

And what is your question?
