How do I convince my brother to go to Vegas? -

I really want to go to Las Vegas with my family. My little brother, who is in fifth grade, wants to stay at home with our family and follow the past traditions of Christmastime. My mom would be happy if we went, but doesn t want to force my brother to go. What should I tell him? Please help

Do you think this is too expensive for a trip to Florida? -

There is a trip coming up at my school to go to Florida the week after we get out of school for summer vacation. When we go there we will go scuba diving, hiking, and science related activities. The trip costs $1,599 plus $99 enrollment fee. That includes the plane ticket to and from Florida, all meals, all admission fees, evening activities, field journals, the hotel room, the guide, transportation and all that kind of stuff. We will be staying there for 5 days and 4 nights. It says on the form that there will be quad occupancy . What does that mean? Do you think this is to expensive? And by the way we are going to Florida from Virginia so it s not that far away.

i do think that is a little pricy especially so close. But also you are with the school and they always charge more.

Stay Miami beach or airport area on Dec 22,23...? -

Wonder if I should stay motel around airport and just drive to south beach for shopping or night clubs,, or spend more $$$ and stay Miami beach. I wanna find motels less than 100 bucks.. but seems like its more than that in that area. I guess its only about 20min from airport area to Miami beach... so its not too far... please give me advice!!!! one more question! can i enjoy night life on the weekday??? thank you!

i would pay more and stay on south beach since you dont need a car. try the hotel anglers on washington ave. the area near the airport is awful! weekdays are great in sobe better than weekends since the miami trash works during the week. ask around what clubs to go to when you are here since every night is different.

the area around the airport in not condusive to walking; you will end up spending more just to get around in your rental car. you can stay on north beach or just north of south beach and it will be a little cheaper. Don t forget, the winters are in season in florida so you will pay more no matter what you do.

20 minutes is like at 5:00 am. Christmas week is one of the busiest weeks of the year. The causeways back up to gridlock it can take an hour to get from airport to beach. Then try park! By far the best way is to get a room on Miami Beach, even if it is away from the main action in South Beach. If you can t afford more than $100 a nite you should think about visiting someplace else.

when I d read $100. dollars I have think ..not that does not sound Miami. calculate 240 for the cheapest motel and/or inns hotel..to a club? You need a Agent to get in and that gonna cost You too.I don t want to discourage You ,give it try ,but do not get surprise by the costly .there is always a chance to find a crazy rich people spending lot of cash and inviting the people around.

you can enjoy nightlife even in the daytime in miami :)sunny isles beach has motels on the beach that are kinda cheap, me and my friends used to rent out rooms and throw parties in them it s a 15/20 minute drive to south beach

Avoid Miami Beach / South Beach. (Driving is awful there. Absolutely awful.)I d recommend staying at the Millenium Hotel, but you ve already budgeted yourself to $100.

Which one of these two cities is more exciting to sight see: San Diego or San Francisco? -

I hold no pretensions that I can be objective here. I love SF, the weather, the views, the compactness, the diversity, the history, the architecture, the food, the arts scene.I ve visited SD numerous times [my partner is from SD] and just find it too hot, too spread out, too southern California, too conservative and too military. The beaches are great, Balboa Park is cool but other than that...ehh. Perhaps it is simply that I am NOT a Southern California person?

San Francisco, naturally. Beautiful terrain, parks, beach, waterfront, architecture, shops, interesting and cheap public transportation and if you bring your camera, you ll be in heaven.Just buy the visitor s MUNI pass and with a little map you can go everywhere - ride the buses and rails and maybe cable car, too. I m not sure if that is included.LedHead is right. Always bring a jacket and dress in layers here in SF no matter what the season. Even if it s a nice day, if you go over to Ocean Beach or the Golden Gate Bridge you can freeze to death because of wind or fog or both. We have micro-climate here in the city and weather can change quickly: can be very different if you just go a few miles away - or over a hill.

San Francisco is definitely more exciting, if you are into big city stuff, nightlife, restaurants, and so on. San Diego does have a few attractions like the Zoo and Sea World, but that s about it.

Precautionary steps when driving from Houston to Connecticut? -

i am going to drive my Toyota camry from houston to connecticut with my wife, Car is 1997 model and it is in pretty good condition. What are the steps that i should take so i can reach safely. i have full(comprehensive) GEICO insurance on my car

go over everything in your car that you can(check fluids and belts/tires, anybody can do this)..... or have a mechanic look it over(but of course he ll recommend a new motor)... carry an extra belt, have AAA or equivalent. I would go get it checked out by a mechanic to make sure that everything looks good, since you do not want to break down somewhere... Good luck, that is quite the drive!
