Holidayingg in nyc? help please (:? -

im from the uk, but i really really really want to go to new york city 3. im 19 and i want to go with a group of my friends. is it worth waiting till im 21 to go? (thats the drinking age, right?) or is there just loads and loads to do. any info would be good, thankyou!

there is loads and loads ( and loads and loads and loads and loads and loads and loads and loads and loads and loads and loads and loads). Drinking need not be the center of your trip. And yes, it s 21. get caught out boozing it up prior to that and and your next stop is a little place called Rikers Island.

Y do u want to go to NYC to drink? There r clubs that allow 19 and over there. NYC is very fun they r lots of things to do there rather than drinking.

Can somebody help find info on trying to move to new york with no money or jobs lines up? -

Well...first of you need to get your GED!!! There are jobs here in New York, but the cost of living here will probably shock you into oblivion! You ever been to Atlanta? The cost of living is better in Atlanta and there is plenty to do. You also need to investigate different training. There are schools that you can go to where you can work towards your Associate s degree and get your GED at the same time. How about welding, a job as a sheet metal worker or something like that...they are both good trades and they make decent money. On the other hand...there are lots of opportunities here in New York as far as acquiring help and assistance. Maybe you can score a job in a restaurant as a sever or busboy. You might have to get 2 jobs, but you have to do what you have to do (LEGALLY)...lol. Check on New York s craigslist and see what s available. Maybe you can rent a room or something. Rent is VERY VERY expensive especially compared to H town Alabama. Ask yourself...what is it you want to accomplish. Where do you see yourself in five years, etc. Why do you want to come to New York anyway? This is a tough city. I love it here, but if you re starting from sctrach...it just might not be the place to come. Whatever you do....PLEASE...at least get your GED...you ll be glad you did! Good luck to you.

l m glad to hear that! Do your thing...just know what you re getting into BEFORE you get here! Visiting here and living here are two different things...TRUST ME I KNOW! I LOVE THIS CITY! I m originally from Detroit. Good luck! Oh and....P.S. don t hun me...I m old enough to be your mother! : ) Report Abuse

I can t help you, but if you go to the New York fourm on city-data.com you can get some help.
