In U.S.A. What are your parochialisms, among towns, regions, states etc? -

Hi, I am an italian boy I write from Italy and I am doing a research, What are parochialismes (p.s.it s right parochialisms or parochialismes?) in United States? There are parochialismes: New York vs Los Angeles for example? like Milan vs Naples? In Milan people say This is the city of workers, but Naples is the city of loafers! (Milan city most productive city of fashion etc, Naples is famous for Camorra for example. It s like New York or Boston (similair to Milan) and Los Angeles (similair to Naples)? ahahah There are this type/kind of parochialism between your cities? For example other parochialism in Italy are: Brescia - VeronaBergamo - BresciaReggio Calabria - MessinaFirenze (Florence) - PisaFirenze - LivornoAnd there are parochialism South vs NorthIn United States among you american there s parochialim North ( more productive ) and South ( Loafers and criminalty ) like there s in Italy?

Parochialism is based on stereotypes, myth, prejudice and generalities. The midwestern U.S. is viewed as conservative and straight while the west coast is viewed as gay and liberal.New Yorkers are viewed as rude and always in a hurry. West coast people are said to be laid back and friendly.Anyone with half a brain knows these statements are not really true. They are just generalizations made by someone who finds it easier to group people in a barrel rather than try to actually understand them on a more personal basis.I think Non-Americans are more prone to carry these feelings and thoughts. Look at the Sunnis and Shites . There is less variance in these two Muslim sects than there is between Protestants and Catholics. Yet they constantly berate each other year-after-year and escalate these thoughts to violence.

I m not sure I m understanding your question. But I ll try to answer it if I can. I had to look up parochialism in the dictionary and I don t think it s the right word for what you are asking. Religion and government are two separate entities in the States so we don t really have parochialism in that way. I ve lived in Chicago and New York so I can only give you my opinion based on where I ve lived. (I ll probably get flamed for this but so be it). New York is very loud and fast and everyone seems to constantly be on the move and going somewhere doing something and work work work! Los Angeles seems a lot more laid back (It probably isn t but I ve never been there). So in this respect I think your Milan vs Naples would fit with New York vs. Los Angeles. If I lived in Los Angeles I might say it was the other way around. Fashion I think centers in New York but since I m not in the industry I m not too sure. I know there is a big rivalry between New York and Boston but that s based around baseball. Much like there is competition between Chicago and Milwalkee all on Milwalkee s end. Chicago doesn t really care since it s so big but Milwalkee is always trying to compete with them and it just can t because it s too small. Living in the North I would say there is a parochialism that the North is more productive than the South but if I lived in the South I would probably say it was the other way around. Hope that helped at least a little bit. I tried.

How and where can i find a train that will go from atlanta, georgia to Dallas, texas non stop? -

website and price would help

Unfortunately no such service exists. The only train route between cities in the US is operated by Amtrak. They serve both Atlanta and Dallas, but there s no direct route between the two, much less a non-stop route. You d have to first take a train from Atlanta to Washington, DC. Then you d take a second train from Washington to Chicago. And then you d take a third train from Chicago to Dallas. The cost would vary based on when you actually travel, but it will be somewhere between $350 and $450 and the trip would take about two days actual traveling time.I doubt that you re still interested, but if you are, here s a link to Amtrak s website. You d be going from city ATL to city DAL.http://www.amtrak.com

unfortunately there are no trains that go directly to dallas, tx from atlanta, ga. you can try amtrak.com. the ticket is $374. amazingly if you fly the tickets on fly.com will be $282 and it is nonstop. you can take public transit to and from both airports also. you can also go to greyhound.com the ticket will cost $85. good luck and merry christmas

What do you like about California? -

It has The Tech Hub and you can grow anything there, literally also the best beaches in all the U.S of A. What areas in Ca do you like?

Nice climate and lorts to do I ve only been to a few parts of Clifornia, San Francisco and Death Valley. I enjoyed both Though, as for beaches, there are plenty in New England that can rival anything in the Golden State (albeit only in the summertime) Visit Coast Guard Beach in MA or Misquamicut in RI, and you ll know what I m talking about

I enjoy CA very much and have visited it often. I enjoy the beaches, many attractions, the weather, the spectacular scenery, and more. Some of my favorite places are Yosemite, Monterey/Pebble Beach/Carmel, San Francisco, Santa Barbara, Ventura, Long Beach, and the PCH. Some particular favorite spots of mine are Carpenteria Beach, just south of Santa Barbara, for its beautiful sunsets. China Beach, in S.F., for one of the best photo opportunites of the Golden Gate Bridge. Lombard St., in S.F., because it s fun driving down the crookedest street in the world. Pebble Beach, being on the 17 mile drive is like being in heaven. Hearst Castle is one of the most spectacular attractions in the state. Not to mention the heavenly drive from Monterey to San Simeon. Yosemite, the waterfalls are all wonderful, so are the mountains, beautiful wildlife, and fresh, clean air. Fortunately, I m headed back to S.F. and Monterey in January for vacation.

the beaches, restaraunts, hostels are great, favorite places are monterey, san franscico, and laguna beach

the lakes and mounitins

Am going to new york how much for a taxi from jfk to hudson hotel 356west 58th street,ny? -

Take the airtrain to Jamaica Station. Get on the subway and take the train to Columbus circle. Walk. Total cost, $2.25 for the subway plus the cost of the airtrain. And you won t have to worry about a crooked cabbie taking you via the grand circle route. Here is a link to an article about transportation in New York City. Please pay attention to the sources in the back as these will provide you with maps, public transportation information and so forth.http://www.associatedcontent.com/article

The flat fare from JFK to anywhere in Midtown, Manhattan will cost you $45. There is no night surcharge and the meter is off for this trip. The flat fare also applies for travel from Midtown to JFK.Good luckNative New Yorker

A lot cheaper on the shuttles or buseshttp://www.goairlinkshuttle.com/http://www.nyairportservice.com/

It would be cheaper to do a shared ride van , e.g. SuperShuttle. Check the airport s website under Ground Transportation .

Flat fee of $45 + tip.

Whats a postal code for killeen texas? -

Does it go by state?

The best place to get accurate zip code is from the US Postal Service website.

There is not just one zip code for each state. Large cities have several zip codes and even small towns may have more than one zip code. Go to www.zip-codes.com and type in the address you are sending to and it will tell you the zip code.

76540 through 76549If you have the actual street adress you can find out for sure at usps.com
